Rudy is a gigantic albino Baryonyx, which was related to the Spinosaurus.
I thought he was a Suchomimus at first when I watched the film first time around.
He could be either, and to briefly put on my nerd glasses: it's spelt "Baryonyx". Either way I love his design and menacing presence. (And his roar)

This is correct. Although, supposedly, he was originally going to be a Spino, but due to Jurassic Park 3, they basically just removed the fin, and went with the Bary idea.
@@meganlodon Wonder why they changed it. This came out in 2009, JP3 came out in 2001. But to be fair... with Rudy and Momma fighting in the end, it would've been a little bit like Jurassic Park 3 if Rudy had been a Spinosaurus, especially after the game version was released.

Fun fact: that scene where Diego can’t catch the deer may actually be historically accurate…sabers PHYSICALLY weren’t built to catch fast nimble animals like deer, they were built to catch slower, bulkier animals, being ambush predators sabers didn’t have the energy to chase down faster animals

Ice age 3 is my favourite movie when I was young and I never forget about it
What is interesting: Ice Age is one of VERY FEW movies which are actually BETTER in Germany with German dub because Sid is voiced by a famous comedian here in Germany and his voice and personality fits absolutely perfectly for Sid.
The only one that makes this hard is this one because on the English side Simon Pegg is perfect for Buck. I literally want to combine both versions because right now there are two great versions but together they could be amazing.
Hands down this is the BEST Ice Age movie in the franchise! I remember watching it in the cinema

It’s a crime that this is the Ice Age movie that most people forget. It’s a fun time the whole way!!
The fact this movie is 15 years old is unreal. I remember watching it in theaters. Nothing will top the original, but this was definitely one of the better ones. Sid taking care of the baby Rexes was really cute. Also, "Walk the Dinosaur" is a banger. 🥰🥰

They hyped him up as something bigger than the dinosaur we first saw, they didn’t disappoint. The moment you saw how much bigger his foot was you knew he was the real deal

Ice age is one of those franchise that spiral into madness the more movies they make just like Madagascar 😂
And i loved it, i kept up with every movie as a kid.
I thought this movie was the coolest shit i ever saw in my life when i watched it as a kid. Compared to Ice Age 2 it felt like i was seeing the best and most realistic animation EVER, i would compare it experiencing Avatar 2 for the first time.

I don't remember if it was a bonus on this film or one of the other sequels, but I remember there being a fake documentary about "Scrat found buried in Ice after thousands of years!" and then showing footage of him having escaped his iceberg, and for some reason, it scared the crap out of young me thinking about Scrat coming to get me in the night, lol!

I remember exactly what you're talking about. From memory, it was a bonus feature for the DVD of the second movie. When I saw it as a kid, I believed it was real, and I told some of my classmates from school about it. Good times.

For me it is even better in my mother tongue, swedish. Its so fun when new jokes are made in translations that the original wording don't have. This is a kids film so watched it in swedish. But films for grown ups are always in their native language in Sweden.
