  • I'm really excited about Episode 12.
This is the first in the Golden Agers Jammin' in New Orleans playlist in which I got to enjoy completely new artist experiences.
Segment one features D-Cruise and the G-Funk Band at LeRoux on The Lake. My excitement began when I saw the professional mixer and sound equipment that came with the group, and when the music began I was equally excited.
Some of the Posse had already had the experience and shared their enjoyment of this show band that consisted of three excellent singers and a collection of funk ready musicians: keys, bass lead guitar and a drummer that kept the funk coming. We'll be back.
Segment 2 was the Father' Day Smooth Jazz Sunday show featuring the excellent Chiara Nicole on vocals with the 4x4 Connection Band, which I consider to be a human jukebox. That makes each Smooth Jazz Sunday show unique as they change the featured singer/musician and are able to play every tune that each performer wants to performs.
Of course the dance floor stayed full when the line dancers got down. I love when they snap those fans.
Segment three got wild y'all. Danny Alexander as he moved his Blues Jam Sessions to Mondays evenings at Jas, and has packed the house... on Monday evenings, yet.
Danny basically invites any musician who wants to sit in for one or two tunes to bring their instruments and/or their voice and they'll get to play. The levels of accomplishment may have varied, but never the energy, and positive vibe.
The show started with only Danny singing with himself playing a very bluesy guitar and his bass player and drummer. If that was all, the show would have been a treat, all three were very accomplished.
What started with 3 eventually became 11: three harmonica players, conga player, two more guitarists, a couple of drummers took a turn on the drum set. a trumpeter, trombonist... and this last dude, did some percussion, then sang and played his behind of on harmonica, shared the tune with others and finally just tore it up.
All the while Danny standing playing in the back jammin' and smiling.
Eventually I'm going to get up and do something. I have a couple of songs in me. Maybe this Monday while Boo's traveling on a family "girls trip",so she won't feel embarrassed. I never am.
