I got a 230S W111 that fell into an enormous hole covered in water. The car would not advance even being on and the automatic gearbox functioning. I took it to the mechanic and he told me it was that chrome inner part that broke. From a donor car we took that part and reinstall it but now it has a wisssssss sound. Another mechanic told me those parts are not supposed to be interchanged as they are like a bridge teeth they only fit the original owner. What can it be? Thank you very much

      Hello!
      Thank you for reaching out!
It's important to note that diagnosing specific issues with your vehicle remotely can be challenging due to the unique nature of each restoration project. With vintage cars, especially those over 50 years old, a myriad of factors, including aging materials, custom modifications, and individual histories, can contribute to issues such as starting difficulties. We recommend consulting with a qualified mechanic or look for a restoration workshop in your area who can provide hands-on expertise tailored to your car's needs. Happy motoring!
