Rest in peace Bruce. A man a lot of us didn't know, though from the video we saw of him, I hope I speak for everyone when I say, From just a few clips we can tell he was a great man. Rest in peace.
I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my two mentors from college way too soon. One had a cancer recurrence in her late 60’s. The other was healthy as a horse at 72, but she went to bed with a headache and never woke up. Turned out she died of a brain aneurysm (like her mom did decades before). Mentors are a major deal in our lives. I’m glad you had a chance to see your guitar hero recently. RIP Bruce, Magda, and Barbara. I’m sure he’s rocking out up in guitar heaven! Btw, I miss these games on iPhone. Someone bring them back - I still have a Rockband mobile controller!
I've been playing GH for 10+ years. I love this video and seeing your friend play and his reactions to playing are honestly better than watching someone FC it. This is how most playing sessions should go. Great vid dude! RIP Bruce.
I started playing guitar hero a couple months ago and it has improved my playing on the real guitar more than actually practicing! Mainly my finger dexterity and individual control has improved dramatically. If you can get a GH controller and play GH/CH, I would seriously recommend it, especially if you’re in rut.
7:37 all im saying is that you need to see herman li play guitar hero, and also with how ur friend calibrated it he's squeezing every single note all the notes are going behind the frets LMAO rest in peace, bruce gatewiid
I will say, it kinda looks like the calibration of the game might be messing you up! See, these early Guitar Hero games were designed to be played primarily on old CRT TVs, which have little to no delay for audio or video. However modern LCD displays, especially TVs, can introduce a ton of input and audio latency, and while Guitar Hero 2 did let you adjust the audio to match up better, which is what Dev did at the end there, it didn't let you fix video latency. So you might actually be better at this game than it seems, try playing one of the Rock Band games with a properly calibrated set up for a better test of skill! (Note: I say Rock Band games because those were actually made by the devs of the first two Guitar Hero games, the GH games from 3 onwards were developed by Neversoft and had much easier engines, Rock Band plays more like Guitar Hero 2 than Guitar Hero 3 does)
Huge condolences for Bruce, he was an AMAZING guitarist, glad you met him one last time.
RIP Bruce Gatewood.

Please don’t a guitar collection video 🥺🙏
The entire time im just sitting here like “ITS THE LAG PLEASE JUST ADJUST THE LATENCY”
Even after it was fixed it still needed manual tweeking
ikr this game is 1000x harder when the latency's even a little off, this hurt to watch
