Generally Ghillies who charge £150 would keep You right as to Flies, lines,retrieval Speed & where to cast I Certainly woodny Give HIM ANY Money to me its all Wrong for you to be paying him to Fish rather than you being a paying Guest and Him Guiding for You He certainly disny get my vote
What you fail to understand is he fishes and establishes which flies are working. He then transfers the successful flies or fly to me and so on. He also keeps me safe and takes me to the best drifts.Harray is a very dangerous loch and the gillies knowledge is worth every penny. Getting stuck on a skerry in a strong wind is not for the faint hearted.

Seems to be the case on Harray. One day it is the stern rod and the next the bow rod.
@@kenbruce1950 Hi Ken, Yes, that is exactly the way it was for us, both on Harray and Hundland except it was more even on Boardland. Strange isn't it.
@@raybede I have never fished Hundland from the boat. Only the bank. As far as I know it is full of skerries.
