It pays to watch!!! just found the 2015 with the oval 0. almost put it in the re-roll bin and remembered your show about the same thing. pay attention! it`s worth it.
GA Silverhunter - Love the hunt! The ‘94 p and d are knows to have a “ghost” column, to the far right of the Lincoln memorial (essentially a ddr). May want to take a closer look at those columns. Another awesome hunt. Can’t wait for the next one. Christos K.
In the same boat. Recent penny box only had 5 wheats, which is mediocre compared to what I have seen (10+/box) before I moved to a different state. No close or wide AM’s, errors and varieties. Six rolls of copper as well.
There are. Honestly its the best way to start coin roll hunting if you like the hobby. It's cheap. Lots to look for and the hunts can take hours and hours depending on how much you want to scrutinize each coin. It also has the HIGHEST upside of any denomination.
Great video appreciate your time and information. Congratulations on the awesome find 🎉. I just found my first 1997 DDO Lincoln cent doubled ear variety. Happy hunting my friend Best wishes
Not sure that is a young head Canadian. Think those are both the later bust. Young head is 53-64, from memory, so might be a year or two either direction. Love the hunt, great video. Good finds. Only get 5-10 wheats in my boxes in FL, too.
I know very little about canadian currency other than the silver stuff. I know a lot of the terms but haven't taken the time to memorize the dates and stuff. I just don't deal with enough of it to take up the brain space. :) Wheats have been really tough to come by of late. Glad I hit these Varieties though.
I would like to see your method of comparing 1970s because I have a hard time determining how to tell the difference between large and small dates. I have read the methods on the internet but when it comes down to it they all look the same. Also have you found any 1970s small dates. I looked at the completed sales on ebay and to be honest it looked like all of the small dates were all really large dates. I have collected all my life 65 years and this is the one I have not mastered. Thank you for your videos as they refresh my memory.
So now you made me go back and look because I don't see a lot of 1970-S pennies to begin with and I'm not sure I ever paid attention to the Large vs Small date. Its in the Strike it Rich guide and will cover it in a future video. In short though, draw a line from the top of the 9 to the top of the 0. If the top of the 7 is close to that line, its the high seven ( or small date ). If its further away from that line and the leg is longer... its the normal Large Date 7.
I have picked up customer rolls to do a customer roll penny hunt for the channel and like 25 out of the 30 rolls I picked up all weight like 125.9 to 126.2 g... this means there "might" be 1 copper in the roll but likely zero. I didn't even open them. I just took them back.
Only 4 wheat pennies is honestly kinda wild to me. I know you tend to not get that many based on previous hunts. Here in the Hudson Valley in NY I tend to get 15 to 25 per box. Just recently found a 1909-P no VDB (most common of the 1909s but I needed it). But you definitely made up for it in this video with varieties and errors! I honestly have stopped looking for that 2015 DDO because I just get SO MANY 2015s and it's REALLY hard to tell if you don't have a super trained eye.
Honestly the book helped as I had been looking through it a lot over the last few days. My jaw dropped when I put that one under the scope and it looked just like the book picture.
@@GASilverHunter I put that book on my Amazon wishlist for when I have more spending money. It looks super useful. What is the most recent date in the book?
17:09 I see the mint mark too. 1944-S
Yep... I found it by the end. :-)

Awesome! Glad I helped you find something!
I have searched probably 800-1000 98-00s in the last month and still have yet to find a wide AM...awesome find!
This is like the 2nd or 3rd one I have found in 4 years. So they are tough to come by.
Gettin hard to find. I was lucky to find a 99 wam tho. Wish i could find a 92 am pennie!
Thank you so very much for sharing all your information 👍👍❤️
You are so welcome
Great hunt, it's always fun finding old foreigns.
Nice finds once again GA!
Thank you so much!
Nice video. Always learning something interesting.
I feel that way making the videos. :-)
Well done my friend 🎉
Thank you 👍

Yep... its in the Strike it Rich guide and I do look for it. Haven't found one yet though.
2015 ddo pennies are the ddo I find most often (outside of half dollars which are super common) I’ve found 4 2015 ddos, 2 001s, a 002, and a 003
I’ve never found the 01,02, or 03. This was my first 2015 but I haven’t been looking for it that long.
I'm glad you can see those double dies. Sometimes I'm over here squinting and still can't see it.
I struggle on the pennies. Many of them are so damaged or flatten out from lord knows what, its tough to tell. This one jumped out at me though.
In the same boat. Recent penny box only had 5 wheats, which is mediocre compared to what I have seen (10+/box) before I moved to a different state. No close or wide AM’s, errors and varieties.
Six rolls of copper as well.
I ended up with 6 rolls and a few loose cents of copper in this hunt.
Glad to see the Lincoln Cent hunt.
'82 7 varieties
very interesting, lots of neat coins to look for in penny boxes! Good finds!

I've been on the lookout for that 97 Double Ear for a long long time. Congrats! thanks for watching.

@@GASilverHunter for sure, can't know everything. Especially when it comes to all the different denominations you go through.
Congratulations Sir

one time i hunted a box of pennies and only got 3 wheat pennies. and another time i got a box that was customer returned with only zinc pennies :/
I have picked up customer rolls to do a customer roll penny hunt for the channel and like 25 out of the 30 rolls I picked up all weight like 125.9 to 126.2 g... this means there "might" be 1 copper in the roll but likely zero. I didn't even open them. I just took them back.
Enjoyed the video. Congrats on your finds. Wishing you all a great weekend

Did you find any 2017-P s. 1st time used on pennies.
I found a few decent ones. Pulled aside 2 of them but they didn't upgrade my book.

And yes. 4 wheat Pennie’s stinks. All i usually get are 40s and 50s too.

@RevanFan the latest one came out in 2021 and it’s the 5th edition. Not sure if and when a new version is coming.
@@GASilverHunter THEY NEVER MATCH THE PICTURES LOL. It’s a grind. Loaded up on a few hundred pounds of coins today. Just starting to break into them.
