Much better! I was on that stretch of highway last summer and felt like we would never get going - took forever due to traffic and construction. But visiting Andy Griffith museum sounds like a great stop. Thanks!

Drive in advice (used to have one long ago in my hometown): Back your truck into the spot and put your chairs or cushions in the back.

Great video as always. Funny, we never consider driver side or blind side back-ins to be any different. My wife is always back there with a radio and I just do what she says. If ever she wants to get rid of me, she'll just back me off a cliff because I'm not even looking...

Never-ending travel days suck! Some spots when you see them just get in your head! Mt Airy looks cool. Might need to add that to our list.
We wish we could just pay someone to move the rv for us and just meet them at the next stop, lol. We'd do anything to not have to back this rig in 😆.

Blindside backing it sucks! There is a bartender at our campground bar back in Wisconsin who always has The Andy Griffin Show on! 😂 Pretty cool to tour that all!

Travel days suck to begin with but sucks even more you have delays. We have gone past the exit for Mayberry many times but have never stopped. Can’t wait for season two on unplugged

Sorry you guys had such bad travel/set up days. Thousand Trails are so hit or miss. Chris watches so many old sitcom shows it drives me crazy! I've probably seen every episode of The Andy Griffith show a couple times each. When you said pies store my mouth started watering! Safe travels guys!

I heard you say that y’all aren’t vanilla ice cream fans. Neither am I, but you need to try this. Take a really good vanilla ice cream then top it with a really good balsamic vinegar. Doesn’t sound good but will surprise you!

Interstate 95 in South Carolina, 2 lanes of traffic jam for no reason on the worst condition roads on the east coast. Been driving that stretch of road for over 20 yrs. it is and has been the least up kept road that we travel on. And 2 lanes make it a traffic jam waiting to happen. I can't complain enough of that stretch of 95 between Interstate 26 and the Georgia border

My dad was stationed at Hunter back in the 60’s but darned if I can find the place we lived in off base. I still don’t enjoy backing up my new Alliance 5th wheel 😂

Super great video. It does seem like there's more and more cluster....... You know what's on the road anymore. When we were at Forest lake at the end of last year they put us in the new section which was a blind back inside but because it's wider and new it was easier. We've been to the Mayberry type town also and we absolutely love it!. These are our favorite videos that you guys do. We love learning about areas. What was the name of the drunk guy that was always in jail? I can't think of his name. And peace wasn't that good. Thanks so much for sharing this. How many days did it take you to eat the pie?
They have mostly permanent in those new spots now - sucks. Otitis was the drunk! 🤣. Only took 2 days to finish off the pies 😂.

I stayed at that drive-in as a harvest host overnight a couple of weeks ago. And I saw Ghostbusters! How cool to stay at a drive-in!
I saw 2 campers when we were there and we were like "it's a HH, how cool!" That's a fun way to HH.
Blind side parking does suck, even with a good director helping you. You can never see proper enough to get comfortable. I F ing hate it too. And I drove a semi truck for 7-8 years.

Next time, from Yamasse, take US 21 up to Orangeburg and then US 601 over to I-26. Sure you'll go through some small towns, but it is better than grid lock on I 95

I-95 is AWFUL!!! We will do whatever it takes to avoid it. We are from Missouri, don’t have that kind of traffic, no toll roads, etc. Headed to CT in a couple of weeks. We will travel to OH for the first night, NY the second night, and into CT on the last day and we will drop down into New Haven, CT from the north…all just to avoid I-95…you have our sympathies for enduring it!

Grew up watching Andy Griffin & also watched Matt Lock (Green Acres Mr. Ed and all the “old time” shows) LMAO I remember that episode with the “Loaded Goat” 🤣🤣
I (Leslie) never have seen Matlock or Andy Griffith before, but the others I have. After being there though, I'm intrigued 😊

When Leslie put the badge on you I thought of Barney! Leslie’s facial expressions when you were describing your travel day was priceless. I have traveled that road for the last 30 years and little to no improvements, it does suck. Mayberry is great, shows a simpler time. Great video and love following you two!

We love Mt. Airy and have been there several times. You were fortunate to be there on a day that wasn't too crowded. Touring the Andy Griffith sites are a step back in time to simpler days; more innocent in many ways. I really enjoyed visiting Mr. Airy again via your video. Thanks for the laughs and vicarious fun. I could almost smell the treats in the pie shop; it's really a special place!

Not sure what to say to a fellow journeyer who lost in a fire. We lost everything… Can’t imagine what you both still think about. Two years on, we still discuss.
Our fire was almost 24 years ago, and we remember it like it was yesterday. It lives with you forever. We still have the photos from the investigation - when we look at them, we still can't believe it happened. Needless to say, we are more fire alert than before the fire.

Ya, Charlotte is a beast. We hated it when we lived in Georgia and had to go through Atlanta- that's God awful, lol

Hey guys. We are about to retire and go full time, and cant wait to maybe run into yall. We have a dilemma. We are so torn about Thousand trails. We thought we wanted a membership, but hearing about the changes lately, and the conditions of the parks. We are regrettably rethinking that. With your no nonsense approach to Bulls$%^. I value your opinion on this. Do yall still like it after 3 or 4 years? And would you do it again? Thanks in advance. We love you guys. Stay safe.
It's a love-hate relationship, lol. It's frustrating sometimes, but it does save us money. Would we do it again? I would say yes. Since we don't exclusively stay in Thousand Trails, it's tolerable. What we save by using them allows us to splurge when we need to. So, as long as you accept that some will be really nice and some won't be the greatest, then you'll be happy with the decision. We have met some of the greatest people I call family now while in TT, and I wouldn't trade that for anything 😊. Hope our paths cross someday!

We loved our time in Advance and really enjoyed Mount Airy. We HAD to take pictures in Otis's cell and sitting at Andy's desk. Had to do it. I guess Andy stayed in his old house the night before they dedicated that highway to him. He said it was WAY bigger than it was when he lived there and almost unrecognizable. Also learned that Mt Airy is known for their pure white granite that is used in many iconic buildings in DC and in Europe. Who knew?

I hate that kind of traffic crap! Especially for no reason…. The thing I noticed about the Andy Griffins show was, they never had teenagers on the show. It was always kids OP’s age. Along with we never seen Barney’s phone girlfriend “ Juanita”… or Sara the phone operator. Great video. Food looked delicious! No smothered Chicken?. Ice cream anytime!!!! Oh not to mention my uncle was a guitarist for the Grand ole Opry. 👍🤗👏❤️
