I o ow you would definitely join in. Shipping is horrible. You could search around to see if you could even start a drive like this. Nancy from She’s got yarn 2 and her mom started doing this and put out a community call. You could be that guy in Canada doing the same thing. The crafting community is so amazing.
That is amazing. As I’m working up these cute squares to send off I’ve thought about making a full blanket too. Now that I know about this I can pop out a square or two between projects and before you know it have a blanket or two ready by next year.
I've finished mine but now I just want to keep going, to keep Laura in granny square misery. You did great explaining Boggy Creek and the challenge. 😂😂 ooh I have to look at that book. I love the dino's you can submit to krafting kitties dino challenge now too. How fun.
Oh, good point on the Dino challenge with Erin at Krafting Kitty. I forgot about that one and yet I’ve directed others who made Dino themed items to her. All the ladies were so fun. Laura was doing a fantastic job of taunting the TH-cam community. Lynanne is getting so many squares and is encouraging people to keep sending them.
Shannon, I'll see what I can do. I'm in the middle of making some beanies for a friend's husband who's going through chemo right now. When I get them out, I will make a couple of squares and send them out. Thanks for spreading the information!🩵
I did a book review “Robyn Octopus & Friends” the thumbnail is with the knit octopus I made and the book cover. That has on it “Douglas Highland Cow” the book is all knit. 🥰
That book has been on my wishlist! I love the first one that had different squares but I love animals. I knew it was a dinosaur! I literally just emailed you a challenge. LOL. How funny is that? ;)
@@lisawhite457 They are collecting and giving full, completed blankets until January 2023. Lyanne is collecting squares to sew together until November 2023, this gives her time to put them together. Laura will add 3 squares if your package of 17 gets to Lynanne by 10/15/23, put in note “Laura double duck dated me, quack quack). You don’t have to send Lyanne squares in groups of 17, any amount is acceptable. Make one, pop it in the mail for the price of a cup of coffee and you contributed 🥰. The added incentive of 17 is a fun friendly challenge, brings the community together and Laura will add to the count, increasing your donation.
Hello Shannon…. I am so glad I caught this video I knew they were collecting squares & I was going to send some I have previously made but some are bigger than 5x5 glad I didn’t send the wrong size squares. 🩷🩷 I have so many donations on my hooks right now, making Washcloths for Vets, American Starfish Organization, Making Boggy Creek blankets…1 down 3 in the process. I am also making items for a fundraiser/Auction for a friends medical equipment. Most are due before the holidays…😳😂

I did three full blankets for this cause last year. I enjoyed doing it and got to use up some stash in the process.

I think it’s wonderful to find out about all these opportunities. Do what you can when you feel called to. There is always a need.

Do they have to be crocheted? Can they be 5 inch squares that are loom knitted? Not granny squares
No - she said as long as they are 5x5 acrylic worsted weight she would take knit or crochet in your choice of pattern.
