Couldn't have said it better myself. Resident Evil 1 Remake puts the other two to shame. It doesn't cut anything from the original and just adds more to the lore. It's a shame how Resident Evil 2 and 3's remakes couldnt do the same thing...
Blame Capcom execs for putting RE1make on GameCube, then blaming the design choices rather than the console for its failure. Imagine if it had been on PS2/PS3, RE2 and 3 would probably be more similar with respectable amounts of content.
@@MoreEvilThanYahweh All the evidence suggests that it was a mistake by Capcom led by Shinji Mikami himself. The mistake they made was exactly giving the Gamecube exclusivity because it was a console that barely plans exactly like its predecessor the N64. The gamecube did not use media on DVD, as nintendo believed that the gamecube was to be just a toy, so he did not need such a media. This was one of Nintendo's biggest mistakes, as it was a generation of consoles in which players were more mature, and it was difficult to buy something so expensive (for the time) just for children, it was also not attractive to buy a video game just to play, the co-currents could even watch movies on DVD. In the end the account arrived and Microsoft, which had no experience with the console market, launched its first Xbox to enter the market and get a small slice of it all. It was very funny at the time, as the president of nintendo himself did not consider the Xbox as a competitor at the height of it, and in the end the first Xbox that was from a company new to the market and without any experience sold much more than the gamecube. All of this led us to believe that the gamecube was a low-reach console with the public. Nintendo was embittering us with low sales of its gamecube, and that only changed exactly after the launch of the RE1 Rebirth, causing sales of the gamecube to double. And that's exactly what happened, a lot of people bought the gamecube just to play the RE1 Rebirth. But even with all this, Nintendo was unable to overcome sales of the first Xbox, making the debutant microsoft consolidate itself in the market. Shinji Mikami went so far as to say in an interview that he was disappointed by the low sales of the RE1 Rebirth. But it was quite obvious because the gamecube sold very poorly, he did not assume his own mistake of having released the game as exclusive to the gamecube, which was a console that almost didn’t sell, thanks there was no way the RE1 Rebirth could sell more, because the console itself had one achieves in very low sales. Mikami ended up blaming the game for not selling well, the fault being that of the console that sold almost nothing. After this lame excuse of Mikami's low RE Rebirth sales, he wanted to change the game dramatically and did just that with RE4. And to prove what I said earlier that the problem was not the game that sold badly, but the console that sold badly giving little reach to the sale of a game: RE4 of gamecube had 1 year of exclusivity before being released for PS2 and he sold 1.69 million copies on the gamecube and 3.62 million on the PS2, which was a console with a bigger reach and he just may not have sold more because surely many people must have played it on a friend's gamecube.

This is my all time favourite Resident Evil. And one of my top 3 favourite games ever. This is just so well segmented. And when i saw that the RESHD backgrounds were used i grinned soo hard as im a huge fan of that project. This captured me. I might go to bed with this playing tonight. Also the Nemesis S.T.A.R.S. voice line at 10:58 was perfect.
The original is just too damn good. The remakes didn't capture that haunting ambience. It wasn't able to be done again. Thankfully in RE2 remake you can change the soundtracks and sound effects to the classic version. Unfortunately RE3 remake did NOT have that option to change audio to the original version which sucked. Truly a masterpiece the original RE3 was. The ambience and background sounds just made you feel hopeless and isolated in such a hellbound city crawling with monsters. Made you feel depressed like you were actually in that city fighting to get the hell out of there. Masterpiece! Nostalgic

How I wished a remake where I can explore this city with a free-looking camera, as I listening to the music again. Sadly, the remake is a blew, it's not look like the original raccoon city anymore, and it's appear smaller.
I'm still so horrified how bad they did with the RE3 remake. They couldn't even include this amazing original soundtrack as dlc. Brings me back to 1999 when I was like 10 years old and extremely afraid of playing any further or running in to Nemesis.

So was it just me, or did anyone panic listening to this in another horror game, and freak out looking around themselves in-game when they heard Nemesis say 'Starz'? Cause I immediately panicked looking for him, realizing that one second he's not even in the game hahaha
Listening to this I can't help but want an MMORPG RE game. Now before you flay me alive for such blasphemy, hear me out. Imagine the game SCUM (if you don't know of it, look it up and watch some playthroughs), what it's done and where the developers plan to take it. Now apply that framework to the Raccoon City setting. An open world survival game (city limit to city limit, all of Raccoon city is open to exploration and fortification, no more inaccessible areas outside of player intervention) taking place in an alternate timeline where the Umbrella Corporation convinced the government to, instead of nuking the city, establish an impenetrable quarantine so the company can run experiments and gather combat data. Nothing and no-one can get out (but maybe in, depending on how players are explained to be spawned into the game). NPCs make up different survivor factions such as RPD, UBCS, USS, and civilians just to name a few potentials. Players are residents surviving in the city, either forming groups, joining a faction, or going it alone. Players fight for survival, whether with zombies and other BOWs, and/or with each other for supplies and such (or to just be trolls). Factions give missions against each other, and the longer a player survives, the more interest umbrella takes in them. The more interest generated, the more likely a tyrant will be sent after them specifically outside of the ones that regularly roam the city streets targeting any survivors they come across. Defeat of the tyrant resets the preverbal clock until another is dispatched to hunt you or your team down. Will you hoard your stash of supplies or will you risk helping others in need? Will you risk trusting others for safety in numbers or will you risk going alone, unable to trust your fellow man? Lock the door, board the windows, run, hide, fight, whatever you choose to do, whoever you choose to be, the ultimate objective of the game is... survive.

However, I am not going to sugar coat my opinion and I'm not gonna play the "it's not bad per se, it's just a lackluster remake" tune either. To me, the game is garbage.
