    Great video. Love where you can see the shark eat whatever other fish you had on. Tip, you need to use much longer sections of wire. For spansh mackerel i use 18". You used less than that for a very large fish. The leader needs to be long enough that the fish can't tail whip your line. Tight lines!

      Michael Uchida - pedal, as in propeller? His kayak is a Mirage drive Hobie. It’s my understanding they both have pros and cons but are still basically the same in the end, and it is just a matter of what you prefer.

    Nice small shark. I am new to shark videos but it seems everyone leaves part of the hook in it with the outer side cut. Is this standard? Is that why we sometimes see picks of sharks swimming in the ocean with a hook stuck in the side of its mouth? Is it truly too hard to pull out like fisherman do with smaller fish?

    Steve, forgetting crucial fishing stuff? I noted some silver in your hair. Silver hairs are corpses of former memory cells. :) Do as I do....I kept finding myself at a launch without certain critical items. Solution was a checklist in my kayak's storage compartment. I go over it before I leave the house.

    • @KeyWestKayakFishing
      @KeyWestKayakFishing  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      But you have to remember, how often I fish, how many different species I target, how many different locations, how many different conditions, how many different techniques, how many different modes of propulsion, the sizing of fish, the weather conditions, the seasonality, the legal requirements. It is not like taking a rod and a can of worms to the pond. Besides these videos are made for entertainment. Do you really want to just watch me reel in fish from start to finish. I think there is a proverb about throwing stones as well.

    • @hummer4u2nv11
      @hummer4u2nv11 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Since Kayak doesn't have battery power like regular boats...we have to create our own ideas...so most use a 12v battery similar to the style used in deer feeder machines or the smaller style used in off road 4-wheeler vehicles. They are usually either 7.5amp or 8.5amp and will last about 2 days of fishing before needing re-charging. Google search "12v Kayak battery" and you will see. I use 1 for my fish-finder and a 2nd for my LED navigation and kayak light kits. They only about $20.
