As a longtime Astros fan going back to the 60's let me point out the performances of Valdez and Garcia. Without them there's no telling how these last two games would have gone down. Props for the BP too.

I've been thru the astros sense I moved to Houston when I was 5... I live in cypress now but I get to two to three games a year stay busy... but I love my stros... I watch 2005 nlcs highlights often !! And the 18 inning walk off we had in those playoffs... but game 5 2017 and game 2 AT LA world series... ohhh the best

Then there were some lean years after the big trade with the Reds that led to the departure of Joe Morgan among others. This team means so much to fans like us!

The Astros have regained my respect. I should never have doubted them. They proved that they could bounce back from the scandal that plagued them. And this moment helped me feel so much better after hearing my stepdad's lung cancer had worsened and that he was feeling very weak. Now the next step is to get that World Series crown not just for the team, but for manager Dusty Baker, who had only been to one other World Series as a manager in 2002.
How did the scandal "plague" them? You're making it out as if they were somehow the victims of this situation. I find it pretty crazy how easily people seem to forget that a lot of players on this roster grossly disrespected the game and the other players who were playing fairly. I wish your stepfather the best, hope it gets better.
It wasn't really a scandal unless you bought into MSM. Every team steals signs and have since day 1. The drum beats happen at every game but other things are used. The reason why the Astros got "busted" is cause they are a small market team and when big market teams like Yankees with almost half a billion payroll and Red Sox are getting destroyed by a small market team then they had to do something and started feeding the story to MSM. It's no coincidence where the first groans came from. Players on those 2 teams. And just to prove it makes no difference is this years team. Pretty much the same lineup, minus George, who is probably a little mad he left, and some BP. And I guarantee they are still stealing signs just like the RedSox. Next time watch when someone has a runner on 2nd. Watch his behavior closely. Big steps, little steps, helmet touches, spits. It doesn't just take a camera to cheat. I'd put money every stadium has specific cameras. Pitchers cheat and they've proved it by spin RPM yearly avg. When a guys normal avg spin rate was 2000 rpm and then jumps to 2500 RPM then he's got sticky fingers

It's a game within a game. It's a fact. Not just cameras but watch a runner on 2nd base and watch body movements. Definitely have to respect it. Heck of a revenge tour after 17 cheating scandal. They proved everyone wrong and kept fighting regardless, and most of all they’re in the WS while others are watching at home. The Astros gained my respect fully. As a Boston fan, while this is a disappointing way to lose a series, I am nothing but proud of how the Red Sox over achieved this season. Having been picked by most analysts to finish 4th in the AL East, I had the pleasure of watching the Sox end the seasons of the Rays, and, even sweeter, the Yankees.

They’ve proven that the American League championship goes through H-Town for nearly half a decade. Unfortunately we just can’t get another World Series title. Our first title will always have the asterisk….. we just can’t seem to figure out NL East teams when it comes to taking home a World Series championship. But still its been an incredible run, by this core group of winners. The architect, Jeff Lunhow, deserves an incredible amount of credit. Regardless of the past couple years and the cheating scandal, Jeff Lunhow, should be one of the hottest GM commodities for any team. I hate that things ended up the way they did, because Lunhow, as the teams architect, deserves all the praise and admiration for building such a sustained incredible juggernaut.
