L.A. resident here. This crap happens every day and calls for total defensive driving. Interestingly, I drove a rental car in Hawaii and was stunned how courteous drivers are. Signal and it is like the Red Sea parting. They brake to let you in. I found myself returning the favor and letting other drivers in. This never happens in L.A.
I had a side job for a restaurant in downtown delivering food on a restaurant's scooter. They closed down, so now I work in Hollywood delivering food for another restaurant on their scooter. I hate driving in a car anywhere in L.A. but a scooter is a different matter; I get paid to cut through, drive around, cut between, etc., all that traffic. I actually LIKE it, lol

Check the Art district in Downtown LA, Silver Lake, and Echo Park. Really cool areas to check out bars and cool music. Downtown LA is not a hidden gem, but there are hidden gems in that area you can find. I found a cute little European Quarter down there. Venice and Santa Monica beaches are really great tourists spot, but they crowded. Try to check out Huntington, Redondo, Manhattan, and Hermosa Beaches. You can also go to Malibu and check that out. Nearby cities like Los Feliz and Pasadena and Glendale have great spots too.
I think I now understand why my brother told me never to go there. I do NOT do stupid. If you were born with 1/2 brain you should use all of it. Ambulances have right of way. If they're doing a U-turn to get better access to the injured, then there's nothing wrong with it. Have a little patience.
Tip in LA traffic. If you want to make a left when the lain is a mile long. Either wait for the one not paying attention (always one) and jump in or go straight and make a turn about. Do you know what that is
Okay, I totally agree that 9:15 IS SO ANNOYING. However, I try to give Uber’s a break because a lot of them aren’t the wealthiest people and are doing it for the money...sorta sad so I just let them do what they do for pickups. A lot of the time I think it’s more of Uber’s computer program that allows for dangerous/ inconvenient pickups like that.
