    I think it shows a lack of personal responsibility. Let’s call this what it is. It is digital street begging. It is not everyone’s responsibility to pay off his debt. It’s his responsibility. It’s a lazy way to try to get debt free that does not require him to pay the proper penitence, and it’s that painful process that truly teaches the lesson.

It would be good for this couple in the long run if they got on a budget, or if he did because it's his debt and they're not married yet - and he paid it off himself. You just randomly soliciting money for other people to take responsibility for your personal problems is extremely immature and entitled. Id cease a friendship over this.
    It's one thing to request money instead of gifts for a wedding registry. I can see that working out fine as long as you do tactfully and explain the need.

The only thing is being on go fund me makes it sound like it's being opened up to strangers who have nothing to do with the wedding or the debt. That may be incorrect though. • @nikkisigmon8090
      @nikkisigmon8090 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@georgewagner7787 we are at the start of the process. It's often cheaper to adopt overseas than our own US citizens. Adoption through fostering is cheapest way, but there's a bit more "cons" for a new family. We want to adopt and foster, but would like to adopt first for stable family, then open up for fostering. With fostering, there's high chance that any bio family wants the kids back and you have zero say in the matter, even when they've been living years under your care. Can be better for the kid, but it's brutal roller coaster ride for the foster parents if they want to adopt.

    When the rich man asked Jesus “What must I do to be saved”? He said go sell all you have and give the money to the poor. The process of selling everything would be a painful process, and the Lord knew it would be as he shed one item at a time until eventually his tie to this world would be severed. In the same way this couple should learn the pain of debt and getting out of debt little by little as they start their marriage…

    Very tacky....as is asking people to give to your house downpayment fund, honeymoon acitivities, expensive animals you want to buy and the like. Plus, these couples typically have a registry to boot.....kitchen items, towels, small appliances, dishware etc. like normal people. If you can´t afford a fancy honeymoon, don´t go on one. If you can´t afford a downpayment on a house, you can´t afford the house. Wedding guests come to celebrate the union, not fund your future. Jeez.
