Saw him on 9/26 - he did this and Norwegian Wood - beautiful. Also a lot of old things from Yin-Yang and "What did he say" He had some real words for mankind. Brought his 3 kids on stage to perform. Whole night - AWESOME. And I spoke to him after the show.
I've never really thought of Victor's basses as having "banana" finish, but now, as you've mentioned it and I've got my Groove Workshop DVD, it really does look banana! As to the 5-string, I've seen Victor with that bass on many promotional pictures, but never seen him play it. I know he also has a black bass with LED fret markers, not sure if it's a Fodera, though.
There are actually three!!! He has his original Ying Yang which s the banana colored one with the black design, Then there's the new one - 4 string with the darker wood look, also with the black design. Lastly there's the 5 string, light wood with the reddish colored design which is midi.......He makes it sound like a guitar, sax, piano etc. Vic's innovation knows no bounds..................Jross
i detected no flesh,..there.this is what will transform ppl.knowing you are just the channel.that good or bad music will come through,to help or hinder, playing from your heart to reach the hearts of others.good video, great perf. by victor
Haha no worries. Just its a jam but hearing that little familiar bit at the end made it all the more cooler lol and was wondernig if anyone else could hear it and obviously you did!! Great music here, keep them coming!
SunnyJ!!! Wassup in New York? Errthang good here in the LOU....Vic & Jack was talking about you, Divinity & the rest of the gang. For those who do not know, Saunj is the lead singer for the Victor Wooten Band....Hit me up when yo get a chance! I lost my again....see you soon.....New York hit, live at BB king @ the end of the month...i'm coming...lol
I am pretty sure the first bit of this improv was based off Yesterday by The Beatles? Really sounds like he implies that melody! not sure if it was intentional or not. Really tastefull!!!
Dang, I miss Vic........ Dang, I miss souncheck! Soundcheck is when you can catch Vic just groovin'. Cool out time, right? Awesome vid, Vic sounds real good and he looks good too. DOES HE EVER AGE? LOL
I'm not sure, but I think that bass is tuned as a tenor (A-C), thats just from seeing his video showing his rig, usually he tunes one of his classic style basses to tenor and then his yin-yang style ones to regular tuning, like I said this is all speculation.
@bimwopbarn ......Hahahaha, Everyone is not going to love a particular artist or song. Just keep rolling. no cursing, lots of kids be on here.......Keep commenting, u crack me up........Jross
