At 51 years old, remembering these ladies getting me through early life breakups, I lean on them again as my 20 year marriage comes to an end. Their music has and is what gets me through.
Crista I'm sorry to hear about ur marriage. In praying u find peace n LOVE again. I feel ur pain my first wife left me for my best friend because she was pregnant with his child. It will get better. God bless u
Life in the 80s and 90s are so simple back then. No toxic twitter or facebook to destroy people's lives. The only thing i can really appreciate from the Internet is the fact that i can keep watching classics like this whenever i want.
Who else is here because they heard wilson philips on the radio.... i was driving and then wilson philips came on the radio and now i need to listen to this about 40 times before i can continue on with my day!
My dad passed away yesterday and now I'm making a playlist with all the songs he loved and I remember him by. This is one of them. Thank you dad for showing me the greatest artists of all times. Loved, missed and never forgotten 🤘🔥
Please add "Shadows and Light" album. Same singers - 2nd album. Sorry for your loss too. It's not easy but memories help a lot. Just never forget him.... 1direction came to mind then ->Never forget
Mike Pritchard don’t hide in the closet anymore. It’s important to come out and to be honest to your family, friends, and most importantly, to yourself. Please know that we support you and that you’re perfect no matter what. Don’t let the Wilson Phillipsphobic society bring you down. Love will always fucking win!!
God can we go back to the 90’s? When things were just simple and we had music like this? I was 11 almost 12 when this hauntingly beautiful song came out. I didn’t experience the lyrics yet in life but I knew amazing harmonies & emotion. We need this back in music. It’s all crap these days. To anyone reading the 90’s WAS the greatest decade. The last decade before technology took over.
Growing up in the 80's was the best times ever.Young and innocent so we're these songs. The lyrics are very clean and a message that keeps you happy and hope to achieve things in life.Best times ever.♥️♥️♥️♥️
I've said it before, I'll say it again: these girls have the voices of angels. It's like God himself touched their throats and said, "Sing for the world!" They listened to Him, and He said it was good.
Well said. 2 legendary bands had a baby called Wilson Phillips. Honoring their folks' namesake, AND becoming LEGENDARY in their own right, decades later. The harmonies of Brian Wilson (The Beach Boys) and John & Michelle Phillips (The Mamas and the Papas) carried on in their daughters, in a beautiful marriage, blending together seemingly. These ladies are definitely gifted by the hands of the almighty, as their parents were. My mom grew up on both older bands, sharing her love and appreciation for music with me, and then I grew up on WP, my mom an instant fan, as well. She and I would harmonize together, me singing Monday Monday as a little girl, onto belting out "Hold On" as a preteen, with mom singing alto harmony. She went to her home in the sky in 2018. Music keeps our beloved and bereaved closer to us. ❤ Sorry for the long reply. Their harmonies squeezed my heart, and some of my memories popped out. Wanted to share something that made my heart smile with others. Happy New Year, everyone!🎉
Ahhhh!! I love this song, as well as "Hold On". I never get tired of listening to these angels beautiful voices! (smiling and daydreaming) thank you for sharing!!
Yes, Joe! That final chorus is something to live for--so gorgeous, and the way it gathers a greater force than any of the earlier iterations--a total stroke of genius in terms of the arrangement. I remember when this came on the radio and I was so look forward to the brilliance of that final section as the most perfect punctuation to a splendid song. This and "You're In Love" are definitely their best tracks. Cheers! Christopher
I remember my mother listening to this song so many times through out my childhood. She loved her 80’s and 90’s music. I feel nostalgic when i hear this song. 💜
Ever since they came out I immediately crushed on chynna Phillips😍😍 but still can give these ladies the utmost respect bc their harmonies are spot on!!!
Release me is an absolute core memory for me! When I broke up with my first “boyfriend” (as a preteen/early teen) this album had just dropped a few months prior and I actually played this song off the cassette over the phone to him when I found out that he had kissed another girl after 3 years together! The unique harmonies that Chynna, Carnie and Wendy bring to the world are amazing and unmistakable to someone who played this particular song on repeat/rewind for months on end. I never doubted my guess for the Lambs from the first note.
they were so good to knock off in Australia that is amongst other markets the likes of MC Hammer off the top spot within weeks of their debut in July or August 1990.These kinds of songs unlike those of Hammer did not get old but got better.
when your parents are all about harmonizing and then bless you 10x fold their ability for singing, this is the result. quite possibly the best 2nd generation musical act in music history.
I was 15 in 1990... now 44 in 2019.... I love their songs and the likes of other musicians during the 90s like Roxette, Vanilla Ice, New Kids on the Block, Spice Girls, The Corrs and so many names that I have forgotten. .. ~~🍃
Here in 2021, got this song stuck in my head and it just brought back like this whole plethora a great music from the good old days aka the eighties and nineties. After the year 2000 or Y2K, it seems like as soon as the Clock Struck midnight and it was 2000 come out Life as we know it completely changed. Something did happen on that night but I can't tell you what. A reality shift? A paradigm shift I'm not really sure but I just know that nothing has been, looked, smelled or even felt the same in years. When I listen to this kind of music, it takes me back just enough to remember that it was a real time but I can't fully remember, it's truly like The Matrix which is not a conspiracy by the way but they've got all this 90s clothing and stuff coming back with the scrunchies in the hair and they're doing it on purpose. They took away the best time literally of Our Lives. Everybody will tell you 80s and 90s were the best
@@hollyevans3716 It's still there, but they're smart enough to not sign record deals with major labels and sign their souls away. Check out "A Thousand Lives" by At 1980 for a starter example.
