    love the casual way of teaching Mandarin, the tone is indeed a super tricky part in Chinese Mandarin study process. Especially the third tone and I always tell my students to make effort to nod the head and lift the head again when pronouncing the third tone lol Thanks for spreading beautiful Chinese language to the world and inspiration. I'm inspired to make Chinese teaching vids to contribute too

    This video is a big help for me as a beginner in learning Chinese.
    My boyfriend is Taiwanese but he and he's family speaks Chinese and I'm a native English speaker.
    I encounter language barrier when I talk to his family specially to his mom she can't speak English.
    By subscribing your video's I will not be left behind when his mom talk to me some simple sentences like asking or telling something.

    Wow, this was excellent for a first time beginner! May be the pace is a little bit fast at times though, it would help to slow down a little bit. But I really like the way you continually revise and summarize what is being taught, it is a great way to learn.

    This has helped me so much, thank you. I use duolingo and other platforms to learn Chinese but I still have a hard time trying to pronounce certain sounds and this has been really helpful. One of the sounds I struggled with was 人 but you covered that in the video. Another one I am struggling with is 鱼。

    I thought learning Mandarin would be impossible, as I’m elderly, and looking at the characters of Mandarin, with their intricate construction, completely too difficult. This format is working for me, as the repetition, plus demonstration of the ‘tone’, (low, to high, and bouncing) was a huge help! Thank you sincerely!

    I love this video but I'm struggling with "ren". 😅 Should the first letter sound closer to an English "r" or a "j"? I know it's not either one but sometimes it sounds different to me depending who says it.

I started learning Cantonese but quickly realized that the people in brooklyn, most of them do not know Cantonese so I lost my passion for learning. When I started realizing some of them speak Mandarin it pushed me to learn it.

    Hi great class I like you method of breaking down the words in parts I am a travel agent I love diffrent cultures if the world. I hope to some day visit China but first I feel it would help to learn some Chinese. But hearing people speak sounded very difficult. But after I watched your video you made it easier and in about 20 mins
    I was able to say some small starter words like I'm very hungry in the content of a sentence. To me that's very encouraging! Thank you I will continue to view more . 😉👌

    Hi. I have two years coming to Guangzhou China for business and really I was not interested to learn Chinese because I was thinking Chinese is Complicated, but I see your video and I like it. I understand I don't need since the beginning learns all the vocabulary and all the way to write Chinese. I understand you, the best methodology is to start as a small person, first listening and repeating the basic words and then increase the vocabulary, and later learn to write the Chinese words.
