Thanks for the Video....my Ioniq is from 2017 and at 171000km... charging curve is the same even with a lot of fast charging @ hpcs over the last 4 years

    Ioniq 28kWh, 11kWh/100km for the win !
Yeah, I'm a bit jealous now when mine charges at 70kW vs 150 for the newer cars.. But hey, it consumes way less too !

The reduced power at the end is because of heat (too hot). Same behavior for 2017-2019. Otherwise, it goes up to 80% before there's a first drop.

Mine has never gone that far without throttling speed. Always occurs around 72-73%, even when battery is not hot

      @ashton9699 ปีที่แล้ว

Not true, 32° is nowhere near too hot for these cars. It is also charging rather slow throughout the whole session, it should be able to get 70kW.

Good idea to see how the second hand ev market is developing. There is a plethora of vehicles coming onto the market so customers need to know good from bad. Additionally owners of evs that are aging are considering strategies of how to maintain there ev. Thanks for your hard work, I enjoy watching your content, you have a good blend of humour mixed with technical expertise, good job!

    Bjorn, for the viewers:
    I have a Ioniq (series: 2016 - 2019) and it doesn't throttle (only after 80-83% ?). I even get higher charger speeds.
Driven KM's by me until now (>20K KM's)

We need a new Ioniq 5 vs old Ioniq charging battle. First to 80%. 😊

Impressive this original Ioniq and a bit disappointing, that BMW never changed the 125A charger.

I've had my Ioniq 28 kWh for almost 4 years now and I have no plans on replacing it. Currently, my loan on the car costs about the same as the gas costed me for my previous car, so when the loan is gone in 3 years it will be very cheap. Sure, I wish I had an app to the car and a towing hook, but it's just too much money to pay to switch to a new car.

I think you forgot that Soul went faster if you use a chademo charger that gives enough Amp.
Then it went about as fast as the Ioniq 28
As you found out with the Soul you borrowed from me.

Every used EV should be compared to the 28 for value for money and efficiency. (Not many would beat it!)

  • @arjenhoogcarspel4193

My 27 kwh 2017 Soul takes 175A with the right charger. In the Netherlands I have only found this at some Shell recharge stations. With the right charger Soul will be as fast as old Ioniq.
I have recorded a session in ev-notify if you are interested in the data.

Havent seen the video yet but it would be interesting to compare also ioniq 28 against actual ref. like TM3 LFP or even ioniq6.
The C rating is amazing !
You should also show charging curve in C rating not kw. It would be more interesting in my opinion.

In 2:42 Soul finishes chargibg at 84%, at the same time Ioniq is at 83.5%. Battery size is roughly the same. Charging power is bigger for Ioniq than for Soul all the time from 10% to 84%. Shouldn't Ioniq reach 84% faster than? How is that possible?

Sorry Björn, but that's not true. I can send you ev notify data for my Soul ev 27kWh from 20 to 75% if you like. On chademo chargers capable of at least 175A it will be about the same as Ioniq.
