    Interesting video again, thanks for sharing! Been an electronics tech for most of the last thirty years, and have several meters(including a cheap analog I'll pull out from time to time just to keep in shape😉). Last year picked up a cheap but capable unit - suits my needs anyway. Let someone who has none have the meter. I'll wait for something I don't have and can use.
    Cheers, hope the comment helps you. 👍

    Very thorough evaluation of this power unit. I wish I had one of these 25 years ago when I was doing a lot of camping and working in remote forest locations. I would use that new MM every day, mine are both broken with taped up cases!

    Good to know. I'm more attracted to the LiFePo4 because of the safety. Does it have low temp shutoff? Those batteries can't charge at low temperatures.

    if you have the xboost off you will get a full 800 watts out of the inverter at 120v. xboost is only supposed to be used for resistive loads like heating devices or brush-type universal ac motors.

    • @jeffescortlx
      @jeffescortlx  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well that's odd. The owner's manual gave the impression that XBoost turned on was the maximum amount of power output.

    • @phantomrider2112
      @phantomrider2112 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @jeffescortlx No, Xboost brings down the voltage and increases amperage to make some things with higher power requirements to work. It comes from the factory on by default. I never use it on any of mine. It would damage my sensitive stuff.

    Heyy, jeff quick question i just bought one of these, but would love to connect both solar and 12v car charger at the same time but having only 1 plug got me thinking could i use a Y split and connect both up? The ecoflow says it maxes out at 50v 220w my solar panel is only 20v and the car charger is no more than 14v when running so well below the 50v max.

    • @jeffescortlx
      @jeffescortlx  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well you would definitely want to use a diode so you don't end up sending your 20 volts from the panel into the automotive side. But anytime the panels are able to provide more than 14 volts the power is just going to come from the panels.

    Bad experience with River 2 Pro. Had to return as, as soon as I turn on the AC, the runtime cuts to 50%. Im essentially getting half the capacity. And no amount of calibration solved the issue.

      @joshuad2424 ปีที่แล้ว

      You would think so but I have numerous truck with same issue
      A new cluster fixes it everytime. I have not had good luck tracing it down. Assumed bad stepper motor or solder point on motor..no luck so far. Assuming some sort of short on board.
      I can 100% say it is a board issue. Was hoping maybe something you could help with. Appreciate the reply regardless

    • @jeffescortlx
      @jeffescortlx  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@joshuad2424 a stepper motor would be easy to rule out. The Ford clusters have a built-in stepper motor self test. When it's acting up run the test, it's either going to show you that the stepper motor is good or it's bad.
      Ford clusters calculate the fuel level at the cluster unlike Chevy. I have seen a resistor voltage divider have fractured solder joints that can upset the fuel level calculations. But I've never seen it give a hard short to ground.

    is it safe to leave plugged in all the time like a ups?

    • @jeffescortlx
      @jeffescortlx  13 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Yes it is safe to do so. But keep in mind with some of these solar generators, If they are used like a UPS they will go ahead and continue to run the device until the battery is depleted and the unit powers down, But when power is restored some of them don't automatically turn 120 volt AC outlet back on as default. So if it's used on a freezer a refrigerator it will have to manually be turned back on after power is restored if the power is depleted in the solar generator. But I believe with some of the better units they have an option to power on the AC outlet when the unit is powered back up.

    4-3-2023 -- I just received my River 2 Pro today, I have the MAX already, but it would not power my full size Frigerator, so I bought the Pro model hoping it would power the Refrig. I get the same "OVERLOAD" error and neither will run the refrig. Confused. I have a MILIN 622w Power station, and for some weird reason the MILIN does power my refrig!! Totally confused now. I was getting some internal 'whistling' sound inside the Pro when I used the 12v dc 5521 outputs, but hoping that settles down in time. Anyone else have problems with powering a full size Refrigerator with any of the Ecoflow River 2 power stations?? I'm confused. Thought it would be a 'surge' problem, hoped the Pro would solve that, but why the MILIN 622w Power Station does run refrig with no problem. Any ideas out there ?? Great video, best yet on the River 2 PRO . Great job!!

    • @jeffescortlx
      @jeffescortlx  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most full size refrigerators only dry about 120 watts. But when you plug it into the power station Make sure to allow some time for the pressure to release and uneven out on the high side of the pressurized system. If you unplug it while the pump is running and then quickly plug it into the power station the pump has to start pumping against high pressure and that increases the startup current dramatically.

    • @jeffescortlx
      @jeffescortlx  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@danyan55 I also think he just needed to allow some time. And that's why it worked. It's no different than an air compressor, if you unplug it well it's mostly full, and then when you plug it back in the motor has to start with fighting all that pressure that it's built up. It's much easier for the pump to start if it's not fighting pressure.
