    I am 13 years old and I started crocheting from you inspiring me. I love watching your tutorials or just any of your video while I crochet. My favorite thing I crochet from your tutorials was the huge jumbo human size turtle, I love hugging it just like you. Another thing I crocheted that was jumbo was a huge dinosaur. You should try it, I not the best at this hobby but this dino was super easy to do. I also love crocheting the leggy frogs. I love all of your vids❤❤ keeps up the amazing work❤❤❤❤

    As a retired teacher librarian I have to reply to the pronunciation question-per Merriam Dictionary :
    Both possum and opossum correctly refer to the Virginia opossum frequently seen in North America. In common use, possum is the usual term; in technical or scientific contexts opossum is preferred. Opossum can be pronounced with its first syllable either voiced ‘uh-possum’ or silent.
    Either way, I love your opossums!

    The Opossum thing is actually incorrect, they are two different animals. An Opossum is the gray animal with a large white face found in North America, whereas a possum is predominantly brown and found in Australia and other countries. 🙃 I love watching all of your videos! You are so inspiring! 🤩

    I had the same experience on a plane when I first started crocheting! I felt self conscious of people judging me too until I looked over in the row next to me there was a younger girl who was also crocheting and she seemed so happy to see me. We smiled and nodded at each other and it made me feel so much better!

    Hi Genna,
    Not sure if you've received a lot of these messages, but remeber that plushies with eyes hot-glued are not safe for babies 😊 It might be a good idea to let your costumers know how the eyes are attached. If the plushie is for a kid, no problem... love the video btw ❤

    Just to let you know Opossums and Possums are 2 different animals. Possums are found in Australia and are a brown color, opossums aren't found in Australia and are grey and white n stuff. Hope this helps!

    • @Ashley_Loves_Softball
      @Ashley_Loves_Softball ปีที่แล้ว +4

      They are different animals, but the pronunciation is virtually the same... if you want to be technical, the one spelled with the "O" can be said with a slight "uh" sound, but no one I know or have ever heard speak the word says the "uh" sound... it's still just pronounced "possum"

      @@crochetbygenna ofc! Btw, does hot gluing the eyes make it more secure? Like more bonded to the yarn? I have a market coming up in June, but the safety eyes I have are a little bit loose and wobbly so I wanted to try this! 😊
      Edit: I tried it and I think I like it better! If I don't put enough glue, I try to rip it out gently so the yarn doesn't break! I would've never tried this if it weren't for you! Thank you! ❤

    17:55 Maybe somebody will find my comment interesting. If you put an eyes after stuffing you can sew it! It’s more safety for kids. I just make a loop with strong yarn and add some glue on to the knot and sew them like a button

    Another idea for your display is to put a riser on the back half of your table. So your table has 2 tiers. This worked well for me. I also put a riser on the ground in front of my table so I had 3 tiers. But that was because my space was only 8' x 6'. However, the two-tier table looks nice and allows the items on the table (the lower tier) to be propped up and not block the stuff on the top tier. Your market prep is always so fun to watch and very informative. Thank you for sharing.

    Hello. Love the market prep videos! On the opossum front: In common use, possum is the usual term (nickname); in technical or scientific contexts opossum is preferred. Opossum can be pronounced with its first syllable either voiced or silent, but keep in mind that the Opossum and the Possum are two different animals. You should Google the Australian possum (or brushtail possum). Very cute!! I always say Opossum.

    I think if you use the crates you have left over to sit you keychain stand on the will add height to your display as well. You could also do that for your mushie box and have the penguins standing up against the display box.

    Hi! This is so heartening to see! I’ve been crocheting for a little while now and have been selling a few to friends of friends. Recently, I’ve set up a little table in front of my house (we live in a quite part of a holiday destination, it’s a village though so it’s always quiet 😂😂) I haven’t sold anything but I have had a few people interested which is nice to have. I live in a place where there aren’t really any craft fairs but I’m on the hunt haha. It’s always so nice to see you exited about your plushies! ❤❤

    Just fyi, I have actually gotten my scissors taken by TSA before. They were just tiny little scissors, about the same size as your's. I had traveled with them in the states many times and never had a problem. But when I went to Australia and took a domestic flight from Sydney to Cairns, it set off the alarms, my bag was searched, and the scissors were thrown away :( So it can happen. However, I've never had a problem with my crochet hooks.

      @eunoiia7213 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know how old your daughter is, but if she is around 8 years old or below then please find another way to attach them or supervise her when she has it, hot glued on eyes can be potentially harmful to young children! If your daughter is older then let her know the eyes aren't super secured on and there is a chance they will fall out. I'm not telling you how to parent in any way but I'm just letting you know some important information that you might want to know :)

    The O in opossum is definitely pronounced, though many people will just say 'possum (where the apostrophe represents letters left out). It is more like the Schwa sound "uh" (represented by the upside-down e in the dictionary enuciation guide - /əˈpɒsəm/, but the O is there and it is pronounced if said correctly. Possums (without the O in front) are different creatures, most of which are in areas like Australia.

    All your plushies are adorable. The land turtles remind me of the turtles on Super Mario Bros video games, different color but still remind me of them.

    I really enjoy watching your market prep and I have a question? What kind of yarn brand name and all to make your plushies?

    I'm so glad I found this video because I lost the backs for my safety eyes 🤦‍♀️ if you hot glue the eyes what care instructions do you include? I'm sure the adhesive would come loose if you're not careful washing it, right?

    I love your videos, thank you for sharing!
    A note on flying with crochet hooks/knitting needles -- always check this with the airline you're using, at least if you're from Europe! KLM for example say they don't allow them, and I've heard of people having their hooks/needles confiscated, so ^^'

    I am really digging that cabinet from Temu. How much parfait chunky yarn do you think would fit in each cabinet? Also, I really like the new keychain clasp size!

    Both times I've been on a flight my crochet bag was flagged so they could check my little scissors that are similar to yours.
