To be perfectly clear - I'm really glad Jingles has won The Ring. I really enjoyed his voiceover in Fractured Space and can't wait to have something similiar in WoWs.
However I must say that the contest removing community involvement entirely is crap that should not be repeated in the future.
They tried to be fair at first, but that went pretty badly, so clearly they just gave into demand rather then repeat the experience. Not something I blame them for at all, seeing as theres not really anyone else more qualified.
The big issue is how do you balance large and small communities, dedicated compsred to more varied, twitch based over YT etc? There is simply no middle ground and can't see them ever doing this again.
I would say there was some community involvement, you could vote to keep players in the competition. I voted for a few times pointy-haired Jedi. Also, the people voting were looking at the videos that they put up and the responses to them witch help them make their vote. If no one watched the Jingles competition videos he would have not won. We still helped just it had to be done indirectly because balancing this was hard to do and having a human look at it was easier and fairer.
@@somebody700 True, everyone gave them shit. But every time there was a reason for it.
The first approach (with formula) was putting diverse CC with a lot of subscribers at huge disadvantage - there was no contest.
The second approach greatly favored CCs that are most friendly/popular with other CCs. There was little to no contest for our Overlord.
I don't know if there even exists a fair way to make this type of contest, but if WG decides to do it they really should put a bit more thought into it.
And if contest is not possible then maybe simple popularity vote once every X time? CCs already added would be excluded in future editions giving "smaller" ones a chance. This would also not exclude CCs that don't use youtube at all, like LittleWhiteMouse.
@@alexandereastwood1 I also voted every time, but it felt more like illusion of involvement. "Saved" CCs had very little chance of surviving next round, all it changed was including their vote one more time.
Is it possible for them to have an impact? Of course.

Any other suggestions. As to abilities for the Jingles Captain, The ability to broadcast Hearts of Oak to all nearby ships, creating a small heal over time. The ability to plant the Union Flag upon any island you beach upon, colonise it and claim it.
To plant a Union Flag on beached islands is a hilarious idea!!
When you one shot an enemy ship from your battleship (eg. Yamato) It should say: "Sailing broadside to an enemy battleship ... That's a spanking."

Its really nice to see a civil chat in WoW! In that last game, even though the enemy player got paddled for 100% damage he still came on chat and congratulated Blocker_Prime on a nice shot. Classy stuff mate.

Captain Jingles perk, just bloody shoot, +25% firerate, +45% Shell Dispersion ( throw enough shit at the wall and some of it's gonna stick )
That's a paddling +25% Armour Penetration against broadsiding targets
Ramming Speed! +100% ramming damage to target, -50% damage to self
Captain perk: 50% less time to get a ship moving after it runs aground

For many years I lived in Providence, RI, and was a member of "The Friends of Battleship Cove", the support organization for Battleship Cove in Fall River, Massachusetts where the Battleship Massachusetts is docked. I used to visit her about once a month. She is a ship of which I am very fond. If you are ever in southern New England, I highly recommend a visit to Battleship Cove. Besides the Massachusetts, they have the Gearing class destroyer Joseph P. Kennedy, the Balao class submarine Lionfish, 2 WW2 PT boats, and a cold war era East German missile corvette. It is a place one can visit many times before one really sees everything.
I can't wait to hear "That's a paddlin' " in place of "we sank an enemy cruiser".

You can't citadel a Hindenburg under 5km. It also has turtleback.
This was tested by Flamu with Montana and also many have tested it in game too. Sure, it will explode at 10km easily, but under 5km, its immune to citadels.
He literally citadels him at the end... At 3.7km
Yeah, the Hindenburg DOES have turtleback, however it's not nearly as good as battleship turtleback, it's really hard to citadel them at close range, but it CAN be done.

u can citadel turtleback but its hard especially up close vs german BB armor. either hit the front of the citadel when enemy is partially angled, or hit below the turtleback when enemy is turning and thus showing the side below the turtleback, or if the shots are from far away and the angle is high...u can pen through. not sure ive seen that vs german BBs, however it IS easy vs german cruisers if they r not too close. up close its not very common but it happens.
Hey jingles, Have you visited the Massachusetts at battleship cove? There’s also pt boats, a Soviet corvette, the Joseph Kennedy (participated in the Cuban blockade), the U.S.S. Lionfish and the bow of the U.S.S. Fall River. Nearby at the fore river shipyard is the U.S.S. Salem. It’s a great visit and full of great ships.
That is the quickest double strike I have ever seen....

It was a trip to the real Massachusetts when I was about nine years old that sparked my interest in military and specifically naval history, and without that ship I probably wouldn't be watching this channel right now. I really should get me one in WoWs.
I really like how the players in the last were nice, calm, collected, and pretty accepting on things. No rage, no irk, but, a light internal cuss of choice, and a well played really.

That's a Paddlin' skill should add 40% more citadel damage on broadside ships, and when activated, the "That's a Paddlin' " line is cited. Added feature if the ship you hit can also hear it. :D

I'm from Massachusetts and I've actually visited this ship in Fall River where it acts as a museum, so this video was a really cool experience for me.
I love the way that the CCs of Warships meme each other up. Grounding on an island is referred to as a "Notser" and once when Flamu was doing a ship review of something with terrible AA he said that it was "so uneffective, that it would probably be better to have Jingles standing on the deck, shouting insults at the planes"
I'm downloading WOWS again for the sole purpose of having jingles as my captain
Coming back to hear about what he wanted from his captain, it makes me laugh to know he got exactly what he wanted.

As far as a perk and though crashing into islands is attributed to 'Notsa', I immediately thought about your landings.
There should be 'I have a cunning plan' line.

"Get 'em Boo!" - Ship gains a catapult fighter, "Bring on the Torpedo Beatz!" - Ship gains either a Torpedo Launcher or a reload booster, "That's a paddling!" - Causing a citadel causes main battery guns to reload faster, "WASD Hacks engage!" - Decrease rudder shift time.
Congratulations, Overlord of the salt mines! I definitely agree with the random voice for sinking ships, I don't suppose you could have special perks for British Battleships for you in-game (you know make them more OP than they are now)
Jingles, I honestly think that it is well enough, if you just give a full-hearted laugh, whenever sink someone, and shout "That's a paddlin' " in case of a citadel :)

Congratulations on winning the Ring, i was hoping you would. Just so long as we get "That's a paddlin'" every time we score citadel hits, i'll be happy :) i'm curious if this special commander will be restricted to just one nation or assignable to all ships in the game, even if it's just one voice-over, unless it'll be in multiple languages, but that depends on how good your japanese, french, russian, chinese and german is Jingles. :P This was a good game, I just wish i had games like this more often (they're very rare, and so far never in the Lion)

Effect: (1) Increase Rate of Fire and Accuracy of your Main Battery Guns, when beached ashore.
(2) If not shot down, any Catapult Fighter/Spotter Plane can be recovered and one charge for the ability will be refunded.
Still think the best reference to Notser, was Flambass "Pulling a Notser like a boss"!

Jingles perks. All ships are shown normally, but their names are replaced at random with another ship of similar class. SO a fletcher might be tagged a gearing, a shimakaze, a farrigut or whatever.
All names are parsed and given a "dave" tag, if the include misc xs, numbers, or other special characters, maybe a couple other criteria. thus in match all players with difficult to read names are replaced with dave#
Can Jingle's special commander ability be to misidentify ships?

Casablanca is in Morocco, which was very definitely *not* occupied by the Germans or Italians. It was occupied by the French, who were technically neutral at the time and had been an ally against Germany and Italy up until 1940. In other words, the USA's opening shots in North Africa were fired as a prelude to the invasion of a country (Morocco) that had nothing to do with the war, and was a colony of a country (France) that was itself mostly occupied by Germany. I have no idea how they justified that, and I suspect it can't be. It's just more or less ignored.
The torpedo line should be: “Look out! A wall of skill approaches!”

I have been on board the USS Massachusetts, which is anchored in Battleship Cove in Fall River. it is impressive. I am glad WOB has given it a great tier and nice abilities.

Nr. 1: Ramming speed!- received ramming damage is reduced by 50% while burning or flooding and hitpoints are below 35%.
Nr. 2: Go for the eyes, Boo!- Better chance to inflict critical hits after receiving "Kraken unleashed".
Nr. 3 (secret perk): Colonisation- Every ship with this commander flies the british flag.
I just love the fact, you refer to the beaching as "pulling a Notser". If there is now one thing he is famous for..lol..the act of running smack dab into a large land mass clearly visible has a name for it. But, I will say about British BBs and AP, I am having a helluva time with the Monarch and AP. There were so many bounces, shatters, and penetrating shots for no damage, I have almost gone full HE out of frustration with that ship. It is good to see the next tier has some AP capability.

The USS Massachusetts is on display in Fall River, Massachusetts. Along with a few other ships. And the USS Salem is in Quincy, Ma.
