is a jewel of rock glistening in the Aegean, and arguably one of Europe’s most popular climbing destinations. Each year over 10.000 climbers visit to take advantage of its unique qualities as a climbing destination ,a bountiful supply of high quality rock within the idyllic setting of a Greek island beach holiday. Since the first routes were put up on the island over 15 years ago, the growth of climbing and new route development has been remarkable. In 2008 there were around 800 routes and in 2010 this had increased to 1700. Today our record of known routes exceeds 3400. The current guide by Aris Theodoropoulos lists more than 1700 routes, most of which are of medium grade but there are very high level routes that cross the immense overhangs. Arhi, Grande Grotta, Odissey, Spartacus, Panorama ... these are all five-star sectors that make climbing on this island absolutely unique! Kalimnos is also known as the island of some of the world’s finest sponge divers. On this beautiful island of Kalimnos in the Dodecanese, you can take nice walks, swim in beautiful caves, and discover lovely beaches and unspoiled scenery. Also, most of the beaches of Kalymnos are equipped with water sport facilities. Don’ t forget to take the small excursion boats from Pothia to the small islands of Telendos and Pserimos. Kalymnos is still very authentic and its inhabitants are very friendly and hospitable. On the island there are many Greek restaurants and taverns where you can have excellent meals based on meat and especially fish. This gives to the island, along with its beautiful landscape and beaches, a particular atmosphere that charms every visitor. It does have its own small airport and a direct flight to/from Athens several times a week, but the best option for the vast majority of climbers is to travel to Kalymnos via the nearby island of Kos.Fly to Kos, then take the ferry from Kos to Kalymnos. Kos is a touristy island only 30 to 40 minutes away by ferry, and it has an international airport; between April and October, all major European airports offer charter flights to Kos. When you land in Kos, take a taxi ore a bus to Mastichari port, from there catch the next ferry to Kalymnos.

    KALYMNOS - Calimno

Hi, the area, i think is on between Arginontas and Skalia. The site is n. 8 of the Aris Guide "Rock climbing guidebook" and is called "Main Wall; the climb should be n. 28.

@@fullbag4087 Ah! It is sector "Je T'aime" which is sector A12 and "app only" in the 2019 guide by Aris. :) On the road from Arginonta to Vathy though.

@@fullbag4087 Thanks for helping me identify the sector but "main wall" is not the name of the area or sector - there are a lot of main walls in the guidebook. Also if a route gets added to the sector, the route numbers change. So routes should be identified by sector and name. Also this area is next to the road from Arginonta to Vathy. Skalia is the opposite direction. That‘s why I wanted to clarify.
