OMG.... She nails it every time... Simply beautiful. First Ghost Love Score, and now this song. She seems a combination of the best properties of all former Nightwish singers.
That's what i thought as well. I didn't quite like Tarja as she sounded too... pompous for my taste. Annette was more up my alley, but she lacked the power needed to perform certain songs (she managed to pull off some, like Sleeping Sun, by making them her own, but there were songs she just couldn't sings). Floor Jansen... she can do all of it, and more. she can wail like Tarja, she can sing like Annette, and she can scream and do a fucking windmill! I feel Nightwish didn't just win the jackpot, they found possibly the most badass female vocalist they ever could find!

little gamer : You are 50% correct -- this song also cost a friend from childhood to make as well -- Tarja. That being said, I always look for music that puts into words and sound what I feel -- because my emotions are so manic and complex that most times, I can only find a song describe only one facet. This song? Damn near mirrors my emotional state in 2014 when I discovered my ex-fiancee cheating on me with her best friend...especially the anger at the betrayal I felt, and the depression after. Amazing how Floor combines Tarja's power and precision with Anette's emotion and pop sensibilities. When she first got brought in to finish the Imaginaerum tour I figured this was just proof the band cant keep a singer. then as the youtube videos of her live performances started getting posted, I was blown away how good she is and how she combines the best of the previous singers in addition to having a sound neither of them had.

We all have our own ears and preferences :) I tend to judge singers by how they do live, and Tarja's live performances were decent, and Anette was generally the weakest of the 3 in terms of replicating her studio work and presence, but Tarja also let a lot of background vocals do the work for her live and walked off stage mid song sometimes(Ghost love score) whereas Floor not only finishes it, but IMPROVES the ending. Similar to how Dragonforce messes up their songs live, it is just a buzzkill for me. I always said that The Poet and the Pendulum was a song that only Anette could sung, cuz her voice, and if Tarja went to sing it, it would not be so cool as it is, but after this... I just fallen in love with Floor.
I'm completely biased. Floor is just out of this world AWESOME. I tear up every time I hear this gut wrenching song. Such emotion. Beautiful and haunting.
I watched the Vehicles of Spirit DVD, and when they started this song, I screamed and fist pumped, just like I was at the concert. Lol. I'm so happy to hear it, now with Floor's voice. I about cried when she went high with the soft parts. Man, she can do anything. My Nightwish life is complete.
Floor is magnificent but for me the real star here is Tuomas. He doesn't just share his feelings through his music, he's able to find your soul, strap you in and take you for the emotional ride of your life. No other music has had such a profound effect on me, the man is a genius. Watching them live is now no 1 on my bucket list, it has to be done. Mind boggling.
When Tarja left I thought Nightwish was over forever... But Floor made me realise I was wrong. I saw their last performance in Wembley recently (dec 2018) and it was amazing.
She is an angel....i was a tarja fan but now....hmmmm...since I heard her voice she became my angel of nightwish...I think nothing can beat her voice... so much respect....i just cry when I hear her voice...damn
I'd heard of Nightwish but I didn't really sit down and start listening to them until this past weekend. Holy shit, I'm glad I did that. I've been listening to all of the Nightwish albums this week and they are fucking incredible! This song and Ghost Love Score are probably my favorites right now. The musicianship is right on point and Floor's vocals are out of this world!
What a beautiful performance. Everything from note precision to emotion to stage presence. You can feel the raw emotion in Floor's voice and see the pain in her eyes. The instruments are also perfectly in time and blend well. I would not hesitate to see a concert of theirs. Absolutely breathtaking.
I don't know why, but the vocals on this recording sound more raw and unfiltered than other versions I've heard. making this my favorite rendition so far.
Her voice is just amazing!Powerful and so beautiful.Floor is the best singer in this universe. Her "Thank you" at the end is so cute. But for me, WE have to thank her for this amazing performance!
The band is reborn with Floor! Nothing against Annette..she is a great singer but this genre is not for her...but now...damn dear God!!! The voice of Floor nails it all...even Tarja...don't you ever leave Nightwish Floor! This is the band of God! Love you Nightwish!
Just want to point out that this is when Floor had a cold/wasn't feeling well. This. Is. How. She. Sounds. When. SICK. Just blows my mind lol. She's so awesome. She's an incredible lady 100%!!
Im so glad Floor is receiving all the appreciation she's always deserved, and just as Floor was underrated in her previos projects such as Revamp or After Forever there are a lot of great unknown amazing singers that we dont give an opportunity. Lets listen to small or independent bands people, you'll be surprised.
First time I've found this band, My God, I love all my other bands, but this song, and performance, and singer, I just have no words. Whoever she is, I'm absolutely blown away. I really love Amy Lee and the lady from Halestrom, but damn this singer has the total package, the amazing power, the soft timbre that just breaks your heart, and the stage prescence and emotion, i mean, my God, I'm not one to cry but ....yeah could not make it thru this That last part of the song...just completely ripped me aparr
She joint the band right in the middle of the American leg of their world tour 2012 because of irreconcilable differences between their previous vocalist and the rest of the band. They called her the same night to ask if she was willing and able to step in and take over for the remainder of the of the tour. At the time she received the call she was a bit distraced because she was at her sisters wedding and said "Tuomas can this wait until tomorrow morning?". Politely he said "sure" to send her a very understated text message 5 minutes later "we only wanted ask you if you can take over from Anette to finish the tour". A few hours later she was on a plane to U.S. and had only had 2 days to learn the setlist and one rehearsal before her very first concert. They knew her very well because she had toured with them on several occasions as guest performer in her previous bands After Forever and Revamp. Tuomas said in a interview he thought she was only one that was able to pull this off in such short notice. There is documentary about that if your interested. th-cam.com/video/vhExkmWKMEU/w-d-xo.html

As much as I love Ghost Love Score live at Wacken, this here is by far my favorite performance from Nightwish. I think Floor was sent to them straight from Heaven.
The composition was all Tuomas Holopainen, but the arrangement of said composition was done by Pip Williams, who has said that his job was really simple as Tuomas has everything pretty much done before he enters the room.

Not only does she nail Anette and Tarja’s performances, she has the best metal head stage presence! She suits that stage and Nightwish so well!
This is absolutely amazing
When Tarja left I thought Nightwish was over forever... But Floor made me realise I was wrong. I saw their last performance in Wembley recently (dec 2018) and it was amazing.
Alice C. I saw NW/Delain/Sabaton in Nashville, May 11,2015, they were absolutely amazing, especially when Floor did the ending of Ghost love score. 😍😍
I don’t say this often... but Floor is really in the Freddie Mercury level of singers... the best that have walked this earth.
just 。。。 No。
@@DragonSteak91 Definitely yes. She's on another level compared to most singers, just like Mercury was.
I don't think that comparison is unfair at all. Jansen is the legend of our time.
After all the drama nightwish has had their story would make for a great movie
Floor is on a level even further beyond than Freddie Mercury.
Thank you for so much poetry and art, Tuomas. You are the mind and heart of Nightwish.
Amazing. Floor you rock!
She is an angel....i was a tarja fan but now....hmmmm...since I heard her voice she became my angel of nightwish...I think nothing can beat her voice... so much respect....i just cry when I hear her voice...damn
same here
I'd heard of Nightwish but I didn't really sit down and start listening to them until this past weekend. Holy shit, I'm glad I did that. I've been listening to all of the Nightwish albums this week and they are fucking incredible! This song and Ghost Love Score are probably my favorites right now.
The musicianship is right on point and Floor's vocals are out of this world!
At this one, she is THE BEST !!!!!
Hardly.
Always liked Tarja's voice slightly better, but Floor is a very close second
Floor upgraded this song to a higher level - I'm totally blown away by her performance !!
Never in my life have I heard a singer that touches me more than Floor... Unbelievable
Floor you never stop to amaze me. May you be the last vocalist in Nightwish.
This is the kind of stuff that can stand the test of time, unlike a lot of other music of today.. I will still be listening this in 60 years!
Nightwish...pay this lady millions!!!
I just love how Marco and Emppu stand guard by Tuomas at the end... makes me cry
Love you Nightwish!
yes
Yes
The ending has always been my favorite part of the song, but she just takes it to whole other level.
What a band! The musicianship is second to none. But my goodness gracious...Floor is on another level. Her vocals are impeccable!!!
🎵🎶🎼🤘🖤
10:17 - 12:56 my heart is crying
😭😭😭😭
This song is beyond everything, just amazing...!!!!
Congrats! I've discovered the most epic song i've ever heard.
I really need to get into Nightwish and listen to more of their stuff, this performance was unreal! 🤘
First time I've found this band, My God, I love all my other bands, but this song, and performance, and singer, I just have no words. Whoever she is, I'm absolutely blown away. I really love Amy Lee and the lady from Halestrom, but damn this singer has the total package, the amazing power, the soft timbre that just breaks your heart, and the stage prescence and emotion, i mean, my God, I'm not one to cry but ....yeah could not make it thru this
That last part of the song...just completely ripped me aparr
Her name is Floor Jansen and her other bands are ReVamp and After Forever. (:
@@RangelGabriel thank you, by time you replied I had already soaked up information about the band and the singer and how they had three great singers, pretty remarkable story Floor Jansen is really good
Ricardo MC check out After Forever, they’re absolutely incredible. You might also like Lacuna Coil, they’re Italian but their more recent albums sound more mainstream.
What a feeling Floor puts in this song. Excellent.
Oh crap. Shivers. Shivers everywhere.
Floor has a voice and talent like no other. And if that weren't enough, she captivates, leaving some sort of enchantment on the audience.
I showed this to my house mate, hes still trying to pick his jaw up. Loves it ;)
What an amazing,brilliant,gorgeous emotional rollercoaster...🤘🏻🤘🏻
That's a fucking masterpiece!!!!
OMG, Floor reduces me to a teary mess at the end of this song every single time I hear it. Absolutely phenomenal!
Mesmerizing... I keep listening to this over and over.
Every time I need a good healthy sob, I listen to this song.
Floor just cured my Depression.
Adorable “Thank you” after so epic and powerful show...Oh,Nightwish...
Wow, the voice of an Angel!!
fantastic performance, a vocal challenge!!!
este es el nightwish que me gusta carajo!!!!
gracias por traernos a floor, es lo mejor que le pudo pasar a la banda despues de tarja!!!!
que potencia la puta madreeeeee
This is so emotional song, it really touches me. Their voices and instruments - No words for that
*stands with tears in eyes while clapping*
As much as I love Ghost Love Score live at Wacken, this here is by far my favorite performance from Nightwish. I think Floor was sent to them straight from Heaven.
Floor is amazing as usual, but to me, the star of this song is whoever did the orchestration. Such a smooth blend of classical and metal
The composition was all Tuomas Holopainen, but the arrangement of said composition was done by Pip Williams, who has said that his job was really simple as Tuomas has everything pretty much done before he enters the room.
“WHITE LANDS OF EMPATHICA”
The end.
The songwriter’s dead.
The blade fell upon him
Taking him to the white lands
Of Empathica
Of Innocence
Empathica
Innocence
“HOME”
The dreamer and the wine
Poet without a rhyme
A widowed writer torn apart by chains of hell
One last perfect verseIs still the same old song
Oh Christ how I hate what I have become
Take me home
Getaway, runaway, fly away
Lead me astray to dreamer’s hideaway
I cannot cry ‘cause the shoulder cries more
I cannot die, I, a whore for the cold world
Forgive me
I have but two faces
One for the world
One for God
Save me
I cannot cry 'cause the shoulder cries more
I cannot die, I, a whore for the cold world
My home was there 'n then
Those meadows of heaven
Adventure-filled days
One with every smiling face
Please, no more words
Thoughts from a severed head
No more praise
Tell me once my heart goes right
Take me home
Getaway, runaway, fly away
Lead me astray to dreamer’s hideaway
I cannot cry 'cause the shoulder cries more
I cannot die, I, a whore for the cold world
Forgive me
I have but two faces
One for the world
One for God
Save me
I cannot cry 'cause the shoulder cries more
I cannot die, I, a whore for the cold world
“THE PACIFIC”
Sparkle my scenery
With turquoise waterfall
With beauty underneath
The Ever Free
Tuck me in beneath the blue
Beneath the pain, beneath the rain
Goodnight kiss for a child in time
Swaying blade my lullaby
On the shore we sat and hoped
Under the same pale moon
Whose guiding light chose you
Chose you all
“I’m afraid. I’m so afraid.
Being raped again, and again, and again
I know I will die alone.
But loved.
You live long enough to hear the sound of guns,
long enough to find yourself screaming every night,
long enough to see your friends betray you.
For years I’ve been strapped unto this altar.
Now I only have 3 minutes and counting.
I just wish the tide would catch me first and give me a death I always longed for.”*
“DARK PASSION PLAY”
2nd robber to the right of Christ
Cut in half - infanticide
The world will rejoice today
As the crows feast on the rotting poet
Everyone must bury their own
No pack to bury the heart of stone
Now he’s home in hell, serves him well
Slain by the bell, tolling for his farewell
The morning dawned, upon his altar
Remains of the dark passion play
Performed by his friends without shame
Spitting on his grave as they came
Getaway, runaway, fly away
Lead me astray to dreamer’s hideaway
I cannot cry 'cause the shoulder cries more
I cannot die, I, a whore for the cold world
Forgive meI have but two faces
One for the world
One for God
Save me
I cannot cry 'cause the shoulder cries more
I cannot die, I, a whore for the cold world
“Today, in the year of our Lord 2005,Tuomas was called from the cares of the world.
He stopped crying at the end of each beautiful day.
The music he wrote had too long been without silence.
He was found naked and dead,
With a smile in his face, a pen and 1000 pages of erased text.”
Save me
“MOTHER & FATHER”
Be still, my son
You’re home
Oh when did you become so cold?
The blade will keep on descending
All you need is to feel my love
Search for beauty, find your shore
Try to save them all, bleed no more
You have such oceans withinIn the end
I will always love you
The beginning.
Anthony P holy shit! And i bet most nightwish songs has these long story lyrics? God damn what a lyrical talent, and props to floor who can remember them
God only knows what goes on in Tuomas's head when he writes these...
UP
@@necessitousfox suicide was what was going on at that time apparently
God Tuomas is a lyrical genius man made me cry just from his phrasing
sorry. but again and again- THIS is a fu***ng Masterpiece!
5 Stars from Belgium, Ostend!
This is one of my favorite songs of theirs ever. Love seeing it done live with Floor.
Have no doubts. Nightwish with Floor is a world class band. Personally I can't think of anyone who I enjoy listening to more.
So dark and awesome at the same time. Floor owns this and every song she sings! Marco brings it as well!!
florrrrgasm ,,, es un resumen de los superpoderes de floor jansen ,, tiene rock ,, raspado , lirico , geniall,,
Daaaaaaamn.... Floor does it again! The transitions are mindbending
That was intense. Beautiful, tragic and sad all at the same time. Much Love.
Im blown away...beautifully composed very lovley.
Awesome song and more awesome Floor, you can't find any false tone in her singing! I persuaded myself when I heard Floor at the concert! It is certain the next Nightwish's album is going to be as great as previous one!
The feeling in there throughout the performance was truly unbelievable, best I've ever experienced, breathtaking.
On of the best songs ever
this is a masterpiec of a song no matter if its Anette or Floor
Marko's bass lines in the slow parts are fking awesome
Glorious. Floor is a goddess.
amo esta canción. ...pienso que una de las mejores composiciones de nightwish
Floor is worthy! I know it's blasphemy, but I think she's a significant upgrade to Tarja. Floor's voice is richer throughout her wide range.
