Your drone footage of that sunrise on your mountain campsite was some of the best I’ve seen! BEAUTIFUL!
Thank you!
I love knowing that you all legit drove past my house to do this awesome adventure!! I’m in the process of building my jeep to be able to go out and do stuff like this soon myself :)!! Thanks y’all for an awesome vid and such!!
Thanks! Hope to see you out on the trail.
How's the build coming? I'm thinking about doing this route here soon so im curious if you've done it yet
Wow! What a great trip!! Can't wait to get out there myself. Just bought my first Jeep Wrangler yesterday-I turn 59 in two and a half weeks. Better late than never!!!
Congratulations! We have friends that started off roading at 75 yrs young.
Yay!! That gives me hope.
Nancy and Alan are amazing. They are the couple in the Red jeep in our videos.
I lost my mind at min 38 when she pulled those cinnamon rolls out.
We did also!
What an awesome adventure! Such beautiful scenery everywhere you went!
Yes it's a beautiful area
Y’all have done it again. Another trip with my sons and we landed at a campsite I’ve drooled over thanks to your amazing vids. Thank you for helping me make memories with my boys!
Glad we could help you make some memories with your boys
Another great adventure. Thank you so much for taking us along. Hope to be out there with yall soon!!!
Thanks for following along. Hope to see you out soon.
Thanks or taking us along and love this area of the country! Roo, my blue heeler, would love this trip!
Yes, Roo would. Aspen sure does.
That is an amazing shot at the 1:06:20 mark. Great video.
Thanks!
Your video has inspired me to pursue a trip to the Grand Canyon. Thank you for your diligence to take the time to film it. It was simple and wonderful.
Thank you! You will love it.
Thanks! Been enjoying your guys videos for a while now. I appreciate what y’all are doing and am planning on taking another 4-5 day trip in that area from Orlando in my JT Rubicon. Be safe!!!
Thank you! Glad you enjoy the videos. Have a fun and safe trip.
Nice video and beautiful country. Kevin and Debbie are part of my family as well as good friends. He and I have traversed a lot of Ky and Tn over the years. I wouldn’t trade the sights and adventures we’ve had for anything. Thanks for sharing and be safe. Looking forward to seeing the next adventure.
They are great people.
Love your Heeler. TX? We have a Blue Heeler named Mack who’s four. Best dog I’ve ever had, so smart, loving, fun and protective of our kids.
Yes, he is a Texas heeler. He is the best travel buddy.
Really enjoyed the video. We are so bummed we missed you all as you passed through Tellico Plains. We hope to make this trip ourselves one day! Thank you for sharing.
Same here. Hope to see you out on the trail someday.
New subscriber. I’m in middle TN and I just bought a 2007 JK. I absolutely love it and everything about it. Hope to see y’all on the trail one day soon!
Welcome to our channel. Hope to see ya on the trail.
The Parkway had several closures last winter and spring. Most of the area around Asheville has been open lately.
Yes, we had ran into that.
Just finished watching the Smoky Mtn 1000 ... another great video and thanks for putting all the effort into the editing.
My family has done the BRP in its entirety north to south and from south to north on a different trip and partial trips numerous times. The kids REALLY love the trip and it’s a great break from the hustle and bustle of their school lives. For those who haven’t done it before, be sure to pick up a guide book ... it breaks down the trip and the sites per mile marker(s).
Thanks!
I just caught this video by chance and what an awesome job you did! I love the rugged beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains and you made it possible for me to see the real mountains as it should be seen. Thanks so much for the enjoyable ride even if it was from my recliner. Loved your adventure, until next time! 👍 😊
Thanks for coming along with is.
I live here in Gatlinburg and I'm always telling people to go Hike, explore...besides busy downtown Gatlinburg..I make daily Vlogs and people always asking 🏞️🌄🐻
Love this area. Much of it is in my back yard almost. The camping spot you stopped at and mentioned marking it on GAIA is one of our favorites. Keep up the good work
Thank you.
What a good trip through the woods.
It definitely was
Just seen your guys video.. we run all them trails and then some all the time.. I'm from the greene county area and we are out almost every weekend riding some where close by.
Cool area for sure!
@@CoddiwompleOverland yes sir it is.. you all got lucky to get over the tracks at weavers bend.. the last several times we have been out that way they have been closed off
Hello from Gatlinburg!
Love your videos of the jeep trips. I live on the Tennessee side of Tennessee and North Carolina. I've got a bone stock 2013 jeep wrangler sport with the soft top and the V6 6speed trans. I'm doing some upgrades to it and I'm getting ready to get me a set of 285 70 16 AT tires and a winch. I'd like to meet up and do some of the jeep trials. I work for the school system in Carter County and leave in Unicoi County Tennessee. Love your videos.
Thanks! And thanks for watching. We love the Smoky Mountain 1,000. We love meeting up with new people. The next ride we have in that area is our Patreon ride.

I really liked this one awesome video. First video with a trailer pretty cool 👍👍👍👍
Thank you!
My wife and I were happy to get to meet you quickly out on the trail. Definitely want to do this entire route one day.
Was great to meet you both. Hopefully we can hit the trails and share a campfire sometime.
i wish you gave more detail of the locations of your stops for this was such a beautiful trip.
Thanks for the feedback.
Great scenery. I hope to get into the Smokey Mountains sometime next year.
It's beautiful!
Love the sunrise smoky mountains drone flight footage. Beautiful view of a special place!
Also, can you tell me where the creek crossing is at around 1:21- looks like it might be in North GA but would love to know for sure. Thanks!
That is Charlie's Creek.
Excellent video. I enjoyed every minute.
Great! Thanks.
Thank you for sharing your journey with us. Blessings to you both.
Thanks for following along.
Great video! Beautiful scenery.
Thanks Tab!
Awesome video as always. The Blue Ridge Parkway would make for a amazing videos.
Thanks!
New subscriber. We love to camp. Awesome Video! We are thinking about getting into doing some overlanding. We have a school bus we are converting to a camper. I think we will have to do a overlanding set up as well now. Thanks for sharing the adventure.
Thanks for subscribing!! Hope to see ya out there.
Denton's are my clan. Denton's were some of first settlers in northeast tn by South holston lake and blountville areas by 1777.
Cool!
I think our family has discovered a new trip we need to plan for next year's adventure! My dad and I were just at Charlie's Creek a few weeks ago and had a blast.
Always love the videos y'all, and mama wants to know what kind of dog little Aspen is
This would be a great family trip, so much to do and see. Aspen is a Texas Heeler.
@@CoddiwompleOverland Thank y'all for the quick response!
Thanks for following along!
I wish Carver and I could have met up with you guys. He was in All-stars for soccer and had practice everyday. Next time you come through you have to stop at Upper Whitewater Falls. It is the highest falls east of the Mississippi.
Wish we could have met up. We have stopped at upper Whitewater Falls in the past, beautiful area.
Enjoyed riding along on this one, Happy Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving!
You all should come up and run Tour De Coalfields with us. :)
Where is that?
@@CoddiwompleOverland it runs throughout southern West Virginia.
I just did this on a BMW GSA. Your video is done so well. Was 50:30 Old Bucktown Road?
Thanks, I will have to go check on the road and get back to you.
I hate that you didn’t see any bear behind Parksville and across Big Frog Mtn. We have a large population of them there. It’s a reserve. There’s a many roads in this area that you need to experience. We camp in the field below the radio tower in Tellico a lot. Makes a beautiful sunset and sunrise
We will definitely be back to explore some more.
Great video. Would be willing to share coordinates of camp spots and trails?

In Oct I took Shad Rd in my GC Trailhawk but heading in the opposite direction from the fire tower. Turned around at the mud pit for fear of bumper damage from climbing over that hump and deep ruts on the far side. Looks like y'all scraped your hitches on it while dropping into that puddle. Don't know if you noticed it but someone did lose a bumper and left it next to the 2 logs shown in the video. Thanks for the video and have a Happy New Year!
It was a deep one, for sure. We did notice the bumper and a few other parts.
Love your videos! Thank you!
Thank you!
Been wanting to do this in my Jeep for a while now. I've done most of it on a Dual Sport MC. Would love to join you guys the next time you do it.
It's a great ride. We will try and post it next time we do it.
YES, would love to see the Blue Ridge trip!!
It would be a beautiful trip.
Great vlog! I ‘d enjoy your take on the Parkway. Haven’t seen it in decades
Thank you, we're going to add it.
@@CoddiwompleOverland Awesome! I was born in TN, but it’s unlikely I’ll return. Seeing your views will be so good. Thanks for sharing your adventures
Thanks for following along.
Enjoyed the video. You are getting really good with the drone. Flying through trees with limbs close by and no crash! Also, have y’all rode Musterground trail off Hwy 130 in SC? You were close to it One of our favorites. We only live about an hour from it. It has about 5 or 6 campsites and it runs along Lake Jocassee. We rode it the other week in peak leaf color season. It’s beautiful all year. Only open from November to January
Thanks for the compliment. We have not been on Musterground trail. We will check it out next time we are in the area.
It is in the Bad Creek project right on Hwy 130
Found it on Gaia maps, thanks.
Happy Birthday Blue! My little profile picture is 8 years old as well now ❤
Thanks!
Awsome relaxing video thank you for sharing
Glad you enjoyed.
Awesome. Makes me miss my home area even more.
It's a beautiful area.
Thank You for sharing.
Thank you for watching!
Two weeks until retirement and now I know our where our first adventure is going to be Thanks to you video. We love Western, NC and Eastern TN and try to find back country roads to travel. This adventure looks amazing, I can't wait. Where can you find a map to start planning?
Happy retirement! You will love the route.
Another great video!
Thanks!
Do you have any info on your friends trailer. Thinking about going that option with my gladiator. Great video by the way.
I don't have any information on it other than he built it himself. Thanks!
is this route on onx or gaia Loved watching and will be subscribing now and trying to figure this one out. And would love to see a Blue ridge pkwy one. maybe you already have it. I just came across your channel today.
Down load the Smoky Mountain 1,000 off their Facebook page
@@CoddiwompleOverland thank you
You're welcome,we also have a blue ridge parkway video.
I own a Wrangler JLU that I've put 33" tires on and lifted just a little, so it has the same stance as a stock Rubicon (but it is not). Is a Jeep like mine w/o lockers, etc. capable of doing this trek? I can disconnect the sway bar pretty easily. Thanks and awesome video!! You've inspired me!
We are glad to be an inspiration. You will definitely be able to do this treck. Thanks for watching.
Could you pin that nice campsite by the creek with the shiny rocks? At 56.07

Great video with some great views, again. The cinematic shots are getting better by the video!
Do you have a Gaia Maps download of the routes ya'll took? I live in Raleigh and I'm planning on next year's adventures in the Smoky Mountains.
You can get the full Smoky Mountain 1,000 gpx file on their Facebook page.
Just wondering, Jan and I are planning to do this area in the late Spring of 2023. Are most of the trails you are on one way? This looks to be a dream. Thanks, Al.
Two-way traffic
Where can I find a map of this route? Amazing video with some beautiful scenery and would love to do this route spring of this year.
You can find this route on the Smoky Mountain 1,000 Facebook page.
Awesome content!
Thank you!
I love your show!
Thanks!
Awesome video! I’m looking to do the same route this year. On a side note, looks like you guys are fans of DV8. I had those same bumpers on my Jeep.
Thanks, the Smoky Mountain 1,000 is a beautiful route. We do like DV8. We have them on both jeeps.
@@CoddiwompleOverland Quick question about the route. I’ve done several similar routes and was wondering about the level of difficulty compared to other routes, for example, the Georgia Traverse?
It is comparable to the Georgia Traverse.
1:23:58 what's the significance of the purple paint please? How do u know it's not just vandalism?
Purple paint is used in this area to mark private property.
Great video. I was considering doing the full 1000 with my Jeep and small teardrop trailer. Will have no issues with my Jeep. But am skeptical with the trailer attached. It's a very maneuverable and small 15ft teardrop trailer (nucamp tab 320s boondock) with good clearance and decent tire size. It's by no means an "off-road" rated trailer, but still very capable. Do you think this trip would be doable with this setup?
That's a hard question to answer 1/2 of the route is gravel or dirt roads. Without knowing the trailer, it is hard for me to answer.
Man, I would LOVE to do one of these adventures with you all, but unfortunately, I'm new to it and haven't outfitted my Jeep yet. Till then, I'll live through your videos.
Whenever you get ready, let us know. Thanks for following along.
I'm in talkingrock just south of Ellijay would have loved to meet yall maybe next
That would have been great! Hope to see you on the trail.
Awesome video! I’m planning to do this route this summer! What navigation system do you use?
Gaia GPS
Thanks
@@CoddiwompleOverlandis the smoky 1000 in the trail or did you have to manually upload it?
You have to manually upload the gpx file. You can find it by searching smoky mountain 1000 gpx file

Very nice video. Are you able to share the route? I get down to the Smokey Mountains every year but I havnt been able to find any real trails to drive.
You can get the gpx files on the Smoky Mountain 1,000 Facebook page.
@@CoddiwompleOverland Thank you. Keep up the great work.
Is there a map or waypoint list you have on this trip? I’m having a tough time finding one online that seems accurate. And would LOVE to do exactly how youins did it! I live too close to not explore this trail system! Thank you and love your videos.
Thanks for watching! You can find the gpx file on the Smoky mountain1000 Facebook page
I can't wait to explore this area once we settle in the Knoxville area in a few years! Our first experience in the Smokies was fantastic! Thanks! BTW, what is your average daily speed/mileage when overlanding? Hope y'all had a GREAT Thanksgiving!
Depends on terrain generally 80 to 100 miles.
Sadly, Poole’s BBQ has announced that they are going out of business. After 30+ years, they are about to go. I’ve eaten there a handful of times and always enjoyed it.
Dang! Hate to hear that.

I've been watching a lot of your videos. Very well done! Question about your JTR, did you swap the OEM diff covers for aftermarket ones with more oil capacity when you had it re-geared? I've got mine scheduled for 5.13s and I'm debating different diff covers or spend that money on something else. Thanks.
We have not had it re-geared yet, but we will change the diff covers.
can you kindly help where this is coming up from Florida in march would love to do this. and can we boondock like the Ga, overland

A enjoyable video to watch but I have never seen so many adds in all the videos if watched.
Sorry. We don't place the ads TH-cam does.
We are camping close to gatlinburg. What would you recommend near here for off road
Not much near Gatlinburg for off road. Are you looking for FS roads or more difficult?
Probably forest service roads for this trip. But we took your lead on our jeepto a degree. We have a Jeep JL with clayton 3.5 and 37s. So more difficult is ok. We don’t mind driving a couple hours.
Hurricane creek, Buzzards roost, the Goat trail and Max Patch. I'm currently driving so check out Trails off-road.com. we have several routes on there
Hello from Gatlinburg TN! I make Vlogs here and Cosby' and Newport TN, which is about 30 mins out is Awsome off Roading..off highway 321
Which spare tire cargo/ jerrycan carrier does your friend have?
We are running a lod destroyer rear bumper and it has several options for the propane tank , jerry cans , rack over spare tire , high lift jack , etc.
I will be in maggie valley in December how far away are these trails
The Smokey Mountain 1,000 runs right through Maggie Valley.
16:57 Are you allowed to bypass the tunnel here?
I'm not sure, I will have yo look it up and see.
On the blue JL, what rear bumper/tire carrier is it running?
LOD Offroad.

This looked like a great video. But I only lasted 2 min. The music was just irritating. Both my wife and I.
Sorry you did not like the music.
Same.. although I like the music it just doesn’t fit unfortunately..
Thanks for the feedback.
Love your videos! Appreciate all your information, but please ask locals how to pronounce their names correctly! The name of the mountain range (Unaka) is pronounced like snake with out the s -- you-nake-a ! It is a Cherokee Indian word translating to white. White haze or white rocks. Also the small town you drove through (Unicoi) is pronounced you-knee-koi' empahsis on Koi. I live at the base of the Unaka Mountain Range in the first of this video, and welcome you to our area anytime.
Thanks for the recommendation.
