I am so happy I found you. Someone who isn’t afraid to tell us what works and what doesn’t and provides model paste recipes. I appreciate your videos so much !!
I've been using a mix of all-purpose white filler and PVA for years to grout tile panels and hearths and I was thinking of trying this for textural artwork but your addition of white acrylic paint makes such a wonderful creamy, smooth texture. I can't wait to try this!
I’m glad this video found you! Ahhh I’m all for learning things as I go along!! I’m just glad I can document my mistakes so you guys can see what to avoid too
Great tutorial; excellent results. I suggest that when storing a small amount in a large container that has lot of air above it, that you set the cling film directly on the top of the mixture where it will act like a skin and mitigate the mixture from absorbing the column of air above it in rhe container. You can continue to add the piece on the lid as a secondary barrier agsint external air. I discovered this using various DIY product mixes including fillers and homemade chalk paint. Whilst it is not truly airtight, it significantly increases the storage lifespan.
Thankyou so much. I have seen so many artists who haven’t told the material cause they are just afraid or no idea but nobody have responded…. But you thankyou so so much for this video it is really helpful, short, very clear and informative ❤❤
Glad it was helpful! The way I look at it, theres billions of people on earth, a few people asking what materials are used does not mean competition - so no need to gatekeep!
I've just seen a previous video of you starting texture art, at your home's floor (like 2 years ago) and next i jump to this one. So great to see you on your own art studio! Congrats and thanks for your art tips!
Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. I’m jumping in and making two huge pieces for our house and in my trials the spackle paste alone was hard to get an even spread…I’m a rookie so it’s even harder…so I went looking something else to add into spackle and found your video. It seems like it’s so much easier to spread. The trick is not doing it too thick😂. I couldn’t find anyone else that shared their recipe so thank you so much. I’m now subscribed to your channel❤
Cool, thank you very much. Please can you tell us, if this mixture has a clean and neat ending? doesn't dry quickly so allowing you to decide what you really want to do with it on canvas, and if you don't like it you have time to change it, also doesn't crack and become ugly after some days or weeks or years.
Ratios: There's no hard rule. Approx. 2 parts filler, 1 part PVA glue and and a little acrylic paint to preference.... I wanted to know too!...at 3:03 re: @user-fp7qk8zc6i ..... Thank you @allthingsgrace !
Does anyone know what are the ideal ratios for the mixture? Is it 3 parts Filler, 2 parts PVA, 1 Part Paint? Or maybe 3:1:1? Also, has anyone tried using ink instead of Acrylic paint?
Is adding water a no-no, cause I added some to my baby powder mix because it was to thick and chalky and it became like starch with water, you know, when ya hit it, it's hard like rock but when stirred gently it's very runny. Why did this happen when I didn't use starch, but used baby powder which is talcum I thought???
Hi Nice Educational Video. I am one of your Subscriber. I have a question: You have mentioned in your video that you recommend the ratio of FILLER to PVA as 2 Parts FILLER and 1 Part PVA. How about the Acrylic Paint, can I use 1 Part. Thank you.
Can you please share the exact ingredients names that we find in india which you used in the video to make the paste....thanks in advance...will be very happy if you respond...
hello! I am from Argentina and I am writing this with the Google translator! I hope it is understood. Is acrylic paint artistic? Or is it a wall that you buy at the paint store? thank you! I love your videos!
I’m wanting to try a mixed media piece and am wondering if you could use this on glass? Have you ever used it for a glass piece in part or as accents? I’ve just found your website while looking to find out. Love your work. 😊
I know this is old, I don't know what it's called in India. But it goes by other names: joint compound, filler, spackle. Basically what you are looking for is the compound they use to fill in seams on dry wall and make texture on walls(like popcorn ceilings)
I am writing from Bangladesh. Can you tell what texture paste you used in this material..? . Modeling paste? Or any other paste? How did it look so good? And It would be easier to understand if subtitles were given below. But thank you very much, I don't see any arrogance in your teaching. I pray to the lord that you are very good in life and great in work.❤️❤️ Best of luck Sister 🧡🧡
hello sister! Thank you so much for your lovely comment. In UK we call it filler paste, but it may be considered as "putty'? it's usually used to fill in any small holes in the walls. I hope this helps! 🙏🏼
You did not show us the name of all the ingredients. The first two bottles you did and then the others were turned backwards???? So how can we make it if you don't tell us every ingredient?????
Thank you so much for this. It's really helpful to see the "recipe". I'm going to be checking out what else you have on here now for inspiration. Subscribing here and have just starting following you on Instagram (don't worry, I'm not a stalker). You had me at Benji ;-)

Tried this many times and it cracks over time. Used modeling paste and no cracks. X
Thank you 😊

Hi Have you tried it? Does it crack?
Thanks
Awesome thank you!!!! Been wanting to try this. Can you do a video of how thick it go before it starts cracking?
I will mention it in my next textured art video! Although it usually shouldn't be thicker than 1-2cm
How do you bond it to the canvas without it drying out and cracking? Did you gloss it with anything?
Following for answer😊
Cool, thank you very much. Please can you tell us, if this mixture has a clean and neat ending? doesn't dry quickly so allowing you to decide what you really want to do with it on canvas, and if you don't like it you have time to change it, also doesn't crack and become ugly after some days or weeks or years.
Very smooth texture. I love it!
I love your direct explanation! I wonder if this recipe also can b applied to the wall?
I'm so glad to find you here. Instead of acrylic white paint , can I use emulsion brilliant white?
This is so useful !! Please can you link the exact brand of materials you use ? Thanks
Dope video, loved the whole vibe - looking forward to seeing how it looks in a few days!
Thanks for the video! Really nice 👍
My question, what is the maximum thickness we can use on the canvas with this mix without creating cracks?
Oh Grace, thank you for making your videos. Your presentation and ideas are so brilliant! Much love and peace from Greenwich London UK ❤
Does this formula end up cracking when dry?
Can you make flowers with a pallet knife with this mixture ?
How do I soften up the dap plaster when gets dry
Does PVA help it from cracking?
It smooths out the texture and can act as a sealant. Don't apply the paste too thick to avoid cracking

@user-fp7qk8zc6i ..... Thank you @allthingsgrace !
Have you had any issues so far with cracking of the finished piece over time with this recipe
thank u so much 🧡
Obrigado pela dica . Você usa essa mistura também para fazer os panos em relevo ?
So if I'm understanding, Plaster of Paris 2 parts to 1 part Elmer Glue. You can add any acrylic paint for color . Correct?
Pop is different from filler paste right? I thought pop dries faster so it’s not advisable for textured art
Is filler drywall mud? Thanks!
Thankyou for this information. Can we use any branded acrylic filler ?
Hi. That's a great idea. please let me know your proportion? Why do you add acrylic paint? Do you have any cracks after that ?
Hello, if you push on the back of the canvas does this texture crack? Or is it flexible? Thank you!!
Thank you! I subscribed
Thank you so much 💛💛
Thank you!!
where the board from and size hun? looks so good!
how do you mix them
I loveeeee your vidios ❤️❤️
Thanks soooo much for watching 🥰🥰
Oh and can any glue be used, as long as its pva?
Does anyone know what are the ideal ratios for the mixture? Is it 3 parts Filler, 2 parts PVA, 1 Part Paint? Or maybe 3:1:1?
Also, has anyone tried using ink instead of Acrylic paint?
Can you use normal Plaster board instead of the Canvas?
Hi, what is PVA glue? I have search online but all I see is the regular glues, is that it? Sorry very new to this and I’d like to try your recipe
Hello! Idk the answer either but it seems like Elmer's glue is considered as PVA so that's what I'll be using
Could I use regular powdered plaster? After adding the water?
how does this recipe dry? does it crack?
Does it crack once its dried? 🥺
Thanks for a great explanation! does not it crack after drying ?
only if you don't apply it on too thick!
Absolutely helpful and informative, thank you!
Just wanted to ask, would it be okay to use a polyester filler just like Polituff?
Is adding water a no-no, cause I added some to my baby powder mix because it was to thick and chalky and it became like starch with water, you know, when ya hit it, it's hard like rock but when stirred gently it's very runny. How long does it take to dry
What keeps the joint compound from flaking over time?
good day. i want to know, if i used a filler can i use it for a sculpture paste also? If i can what must i use?
Hi Nice Educational Video. I am one of your Subscriber. I have a question: You have mentioned in your video that you recommend the ratio of FILLER to PVA as 2 Parts FILLER and 1 Part PVA. How about the Acrylic Paint, can I use 1 Part. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing!❤ May i know it normally takes how long to dry?
Not long! It usually dries overnight 😁
Plz explane in pakistan i found PVA Adhesive and sealer in glue form (like transparent) is it perfect to mix in filler?
I would go for the transparent sealer glue!
I would like to know the ratio of all material
What are the ratios
Howw much pva glue plss? … is it same like elmers all purpose glue?
Can u tell the amount also that how much PVA and filler paint u used
Sorry I don't usually measure! Just add in small increments until you're happy with the texture
Will it crack over time?
not if you don't apply it too thickly :)
Do these types of paintings last a long time? Or is it fragile?
Mine is still going strong!
if i wanted my art piece to be a bit thicker what would you suggest i add or subtract?
You could add but not too thick. Or you could apply layers letting them dry between each one
In USA by filler do u mean spackle? And whats PVA?
Yes Spackle! And in US I believe PVA is called Elmer Glue?
can you plz tell me the alternative of multi purpose pva adhesive & sealer in india can i use fevicol or Camel Acrylic Gel Medium or heavy gel medium
Did the leftovers survive please??...xxx
Yes! It dried a little but I just added a little PVA/Elmers glue and it was fine again :)
@All Things Grace thank you my luffli....I'm gonna give this ago....❤️👍
What about using PVA sealer primer into the plaster of Paris?
This works too!
@@AllThingsGrace cool I have a gallon of that PVA primer sealer in white, need the clear but not sure it comes in clear. Ty
Hey ! I tried your mixture and cracks came up after drying …. What did I do wrong ?
Oh no sorry to hear that! Did you apply it on quite thick or thin?
What do you think about plaster of Paris mixed with glue for recovering a furniture ? I tried the plaster alone and it cracked
Me too- did you try it with PVA on the 2nd one?
Can i use this paste in piping art on canvas?
Yes you can! Just don't make it so runny 😁
How long does it take to dry with the glue??
About a day tops
Can you please share the exact ingredients names that we find in india which you used in the video to make the paste....thanks in advance...will be very happy if you respond...

Hola, por lo que veo es pintura acrílica artística, no pintura de pared.
@@elizabethdangelo1354 Pero sirve igual y además es más económico, dura mucho ( tiene que ser DE UNA MUY BUENA CALIDAD.
Can someone tell me what PVA glue is? I live in the US and I can’t find it. Is it like wood glue??
@@AllThingsGrace thank you 🖤
White glue
Can i use wood glue??
Elmer's glue. The liquid one that you use in school for arts and crafts
What is pva?
I’m wanting to try a mixed media piece and am wondering if you could use this on glass?
Have you ever used it for a glass piece in part or as accents?
I’ve just found your website while looking to find out.
Love your work.
😊
Experimentation gonna be your best friend. Experiment with a small piece of glass and go from there
What is filler?? I know acrylic putty or wall putty and pop can someone plz tell what is it called in india?

Hello! So I’ve used the ingredients and it’s almost as if it’s an activated product. Not like your result. Do you know by chance why that is?
Filler another name is wall putty
I shall add this to the long list of "other names" 🤓
@@AllThingsGrace what I am asking you filler and wall putty same thing or not
You haven't given anyone the amounts, that they need.
she said she uses 2 parts filler (spackle) to 1 part PVA, with a little acrylic paint
