    I miss the beauty of the Yoop, miss my family and friends.....but I do not miss the amounts of snow that comes with it. We had a 8 foot snowblower on the back of one of our tractors.....Look at the bright side, you don't have any mosquitoes. Stay warm Dave!

      You know if a guy didn't go anywhere the snow is pretty cool. I love the change of seasons but not the white knuckle driving. Thanks for watching, KPO.

      @@KnettersPracticalOutdoors Hard to believe the trails and two tracks the dog I walked grouse hunting last October are now under several feet of snow. As long as it's gone in 7 months, I'll be fine.

      Very cool area. Deer, moose, lots of room to roam and some nice lakes in the area. You could probably spend a life time exploring Lake Michigamme. I've done some camping at Craig Lake state park near there. KPO

    Down in Eau Claire 58 inch in February. Put chains on my 4 wheel drive plow truck helped greatly

    • @KnettersPracticalOutdoors
      @KnettersPracticalOutdoors  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Richard, I do have a set of chains for my plow truck too, but I seldom put them on. I usually plow a few other driveways (parents if they go to Florida, daughter, in-laws). So I have to drive off property on pavement and it's kind of a pain to take them on and off. But you are right, chains make a huge difference! Thanks for watching, KPO.

      @@KnettersPracticalOutdoors Here on the Western end of the Upper Peninsula , tomorrow we start off with rain and then changing to snow and THEN!...up to 10 inches of snow, drifting and unfortunately an Arctic blast of cold, but, just glad for the snow. If you experience that much snow every year, you should get a tractor with a PTO to drive a blower. You can only push snow so far. At least with a blower you can throw it farther. Also here in Buffalo Ny a lot of us use snow rakes with 20ft extensions to get the snow off. Seems safer than possibly falling off the roof. It's to bad I got rid of my sled 10yrs ago because we don't get a lot of snow anymore or snow that sticks around long. I'm kind of jealous of what you have there.

    • @KnettersPracticalOutdoors
      @KnettersPracticalOutdoors  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, tractor and blower would be the best. I have the tractor already. Most years it's not an issue and actually it may not be an issue this year either. I do have a lot of room to push the snow way to the sides of the driveway. But you have to start the winter off by pushing way to the sides. The first year I lived here I didn't know what to expect so I kept the driveway pretty wide. I finished up the winter with the driveway being about 25 feet wide (a bit overkill). Of course it takes longer to keep it wide. And a lot of people do use those roof rakes here too. Thanks for watching and I'll take a sno mo ride for you tomarrow, KPO.
