    One of the saddest endings in video game history...
    With this song, the animations of Klonoa and Hewpoe, the acting of the voice actors... it hurts my heart, this kind of final cutscene 😞

      Yeah, it's even more heartbreaking than Aunt May's death in Spider-Man.

    Unlike the PS1 original, they didn't make all the colours dull and faded in the ending before the song started. So it seems like the nightmare energy that's been spreading across the land didn't really do much damage, other than making a few flowers wilt.

      They also cued the instrumental music for Huepow's confession right from the outset at the beginning of the scene. In the original, the silence except for the somber breeze was peaceful but filled with tension because something uncertain underlined it. Once Huepow breaks out the revelation that Klonoa isn't a part of Phantomile and the music kicks in is when the utter shock and despair hits you like a Mach truck and doesn't let go as Huepow explains why. Having it play early in this version while Klonoa's all cheery ruins the transition.

    Tbh the ps1 ending makes my cry because that's such a beautiful cgi scene 😢 it's such a shame that Namco didn't remake the cgi cutscenes for this remake

      I hear you. There’s a hell of a lot more emotion in the original just through how frantic the animation and camerawork is and how it contrasts with how distant the in-game cutscene that plays beforehand is.

    This ending made me feel sorry for Klonoa. He went through so pain in the story. Klonoa doesn’t deserve this. No one does.
    What did you guys think of the original PS1 CGI cutscene compared to this one? To me, it felt like some things were lost in translation porting it to modern consoles with a real time cutscene. But at least it is still more faithful to the PS1 game then the Wii remake. That’s my opinion.

    • @djalex1219

      Yeah, I definitely prefer the CGI cutscenes. Wished they at least convert them to HD or something. The in game cutscenes are good. But I agree with you.

      The area in the PRS version doesn't really look dead and drained from life, which kinda lessens the impact that the ending could had when compared to the PS1 version. Also the usage of the particles could had been amplified just like the PS1 version so it looks like there's a big struggle between Klonoa and the force (the wind) that's forcing him back to his world. Finally in the PRS version, Huepow looks like he decided to give up easily on clinging onto the wind ring at 3:20, where as in the PS1 version, the force was too much for Huepow to hold on and maintain his grip on the wind ring. Other than that, it's indeed faithful to the PS1 version, something that the Wii version always dreamed of being.

    This. This right here is the only video game to make me cry. Klonoa just solidified itself as my favorite game series of all time.
    I knew what would happen, I played the original game and I was close to crying. I knew exactly what would happen, but seeing it a second time really screwed with me. This is the first game to make me feel genuine emotions for the characters.

    my thought how klonoa 3 will have a corruption klonoa:
    DTP ending,klonoa’s grandpa death
    Lunateas veil ending (might not as tragic as for klonoa but it’s still a sad moment for him)
    all of that
    if klonoa got captured by one of the evil force,they will try to dig inside klonoa’s memories inside his mind to use all of his hidden pain that been covered by his cheerful and innocent to corrupt him.
    who will save him?
    will klonoa 3 does have guntz?
    if it is then will guntz be able to save klonoa from the corruption or it must be leorina.
    Save…the…dream traveller….Golden killer.
    [Honestly i think i like to see klonoa 3 story goes darker story telling,well yeah it’s still does have some positive images but the negative images will be more than negative images]

    I wish there was an English dub of this. I know the Wii version had one, but I think Tara Strong could've REALLY brought Klonoa to life in a way that Erik Stitt probably can't. This isn't a knock against Erik since he had no idea about how Klonoa was originally voiced & I still like the Sonic style Erik went for, but if Tara can voice Timmy, then voicing Klonoa would be a walk in the park for her.

    • @PKSuperStar256
      @PKSuperStar256 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It doesn't really make sense since Phantomile is a world beyond our own because it's a dream world. The fictional dream language the characters speak adds to it.

    • @theadventurechu4546

      @@PKSuperStar256 True, but still. It would've been a nice addition. And heck, I don't see why Tara Strong couldn't speak in Phantomilian. She'd still probably do good at it. Maybe not COMPLETELY match the voice, but still.

  • @Speeddemon105
    @Speeddemon105 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Still as sad as I remember it. But I actually regard this in a different way now. Mainly being the first step in Klonoa embracing his role as the dream traveler. It was a painful and sad experience, but everything he went through here helped him understand his own powers and what he could do to help others, hence why in later games when he is a bit older, we see him as a much more mature and calm character. He even seems to make amends with Huepow in other games so the fact that this is how they said goodbye after his first big adventure makes Klonoa seem like that much more of a kindhearted character and how he isn't one to hold grudges with people he cares about, like with Lolo after she practically used him to become a priestess. Klonoa understands very well that these are good people who are just desperate and need help, and he does his best to do so without letting any negative feelings get in the way. And he owes a lot of it to his first friend and adventure he went on with him. A great example of a rough patch being a valuable experience. MAN I wish more people knew about this series.

    I don’t really prefer the models of the remake replacing the original Fully animated ending but they must have gotten the ending lines redubbed as in the original Klonoas voice doesn’t crack at the end which is just soul destroying to hear in the remake. I prefer the remade audio but not the remade animation

    The way that this happens to Klonoa... my comrade said that it reminded him of Roxas at the end of the KH2 tutorial. I know Klonoa Works has asserted that Klonoa was more inspired by Mario than he was Sonic, but upon hearing the comparison to Roxas, I feel tempted to call Klonoa "Sonic's Nobody" ROFL
