Create Multiple Websites on 1 Hosting Account

Learn how to add an additional domain name to your hosting account. You must have an account that allows you to have more than one website on it. For hostgator this starts at the baby plan. You can add as many domain names / websites as you want.
This will show you how to change the nameservers and addon the domain.

Tyler, I have to tell you. Your a FANTASTIC instructor. I did a simple Wordpress website for a friend that is a self employed tile contractor in about 5 hours total. Last night, Pretty darn cool... I may even try to make a few dollars doing this for others. We'll see. I think I did pretty good..

Hi Tyler, there are thousands of instructional videos on TH-cam for Word Press, but most of them are poorly thought out and the narration is terrible. Yours is clear, and you are great in your presentation in that you don't keep popping around the page, which makes it hard to follow. Keep up the great work. I have booked marked your entire series for future reference.

I got a doubt! if we add this new domain to our hosting site...will the site lock and cloud backup service of hostgator work on this new domain also?
Do I need to go to the host billing portal in "Add Packages" for the second domain name or not????
(I purchased the baby plan and 2 domain names - with the one domain name I already created a website and now I wanna create another completely different one with the second domain name )

I've recently started using wordpress following your videos but I do have a few questions, whats the best way to host multiple websites in wordpress - is it by using the MU plugin? or can you install the latest version of WP on multiple domains?
Hi Tyler, I have created my new website using your 'Amazing!' tutorial.. fabulous - it works so well and looks great too. If I add a brand new website address, which I already own and follow this Nameserver tutorial, and do a quick install on WP, will it run alongside and seperately from the first website. ie can i create a second website using Wordpress? Tyler, Thanks for the video. I finally found the courage to jump into Wordpress and am interested in hosting several sites on a Hostgator server. Is there ever a point where the folder structure can get too complicated or cause a conflict between sites by doing this? Hi Tyler, Thanks great tutorials..I have just joined hostgator under the baby plan as instructed by you....Can I please clarify...Can they all be completely different websites? Or does it need to be different domains pointing to the same website? Also all my domain names have been registered on Crazy domains, so I'm assuming I have to change the cname for all domains to point to hostgator? I have started the setup for the membership website but after 28hrs the wordpress is not showing up yet?

i noticed when you were in your go daddy setting up the domain there was a subdomain can we add a different subdomain than the one we are adding or does it have to be the same as the new domain with no "." between the org or com? The first domain above the subdomain is the original domain u used to set the account up initially or is it the new domain with the "." org?

Perfect! Is there a reason you purchased the domain name through GoDaddy as opposed to getting it from HastGator? Can you get it from HostGator?
+Tony N Godaddy is almost always cheaper than hostgator when it comes to domain name purchase

When you're adding a new domain to HostGator (8:32), you're asked to type in a password. Is it a new password you make up? I'm not sure where this password comes from? Is it my HostGator account password? Is it my GoDaddy password? Could you please help this newbie?

Hi, i would like to know why you don't like go daddy for hosting? I heard you saying the you get a small commission on hostgator but really why? I went to both websites looking for better rates and godaddy have unlimited websites for the less money but only 25 database btw I dont have a clue what that is! lol
Hi there, I like your videos a lot. There is something here though that is not adding up for me. I'm not on Hostgator, I use Bluehost but I suppose they work in similar ways. After following your procedure my new added website also shows in the address bar the name of the parent website. Can you tell me how to show only the name of my newly added website? Many thanks

Hi I have question, my cpanel does not have quick install it has softaculus, so I press there to install wordpress. I am installing a second domain, allready done all the steps except installing wordprss to start builidn the website. I am not sure if I can leave the information blank as the first time it asks me for a folder or directory and since this is another domain I want to be sure not mix with the other or erase the other website with the new one. hosting I have is terrible in support

Same question as Nathan. I took a Baby plan at Hostgator which allows me unlimited domains. So my question is if i want to have multiple websites as .com then is there a problem if i just do it through hostgator ? If i go to GoDaddy i have to pay, but at hostgator with a baby plan i suppose i can create as many domains as i want, right? Do you forsee any issue in this understanding ?

Correct. You cam have as many separate Wordpress installs as you have domains in a single hosting package.

I have hosting with godaddy (I will probably change soon) but anyways the GoDaddy control panel is different and I dunno how to add more websites to my hosting. Why buy the domain name on GoDaddy? Can't you purchase it through the Hostagator site directly?

I figured out how to create another domain on my godaddy panel, but I forgot to create a new folder path for the new domain now my main domain is messed up and I dunno what to do :/

hello tyler, i really need your help. i have 6 domains & 1 deluxe godaddy hosting , is it possible to install install wordpress to the root of each domain & having diffrent login & pass. becouse i have 2 economy hostings & dont wanna buy 4 more. so during buy 3rd ecnmy i read deluxe supports multiple domains.So, is it possible to make 6 domains (websites) with 1 deluxe godaddy hosting. waiting 4 ur reply. thanks , subbd

One of the things people want to remember is to check off the auto-renew at Go Daddy. If they dont they will get charged every year. It is much better to do it if you want and then if you dont want the domain any more you will not get charged again.
