    I like how your 1st test with PLA you weren't wearing safety glasses, then after it broke and you tested PLA+ you had the glasses on! 😂👍

    You should try this with solid infill.

    Putting standing static weights in the bucket is no good because you have shock overload the bucket and the weights were very too much what should be done is steady water addition to the bucket

      Agreed but the results came out overall pretty well. Standard PLA should be the “strongest.” As the tougher pla’s should be weaker but more “durable.”

    Why would u do the test on any infill less than 100%?

    I would love to see how these hold up to a couple weeks of “loading”.. standard PLA creeps.

    After the Twistability test I was like '' Ah so PLA+ is not worth it, it always broke before the standard PLA in all tests '' Then after you mentioned the problems you had with that simple microphone clip with the regular PLA I was really surprised again

    I ordered the red PLA+ from esun by mistake when I ordered from Amazon.
    I didn't know about PLA+ and found it a lot easier to print, than regular PLA.
    The layer adhesion is very nice, unlike regular PLA.
    Just try breaking the raw filament into two, and you'll see the difference.
    I printed the free "Model A" RC aircraft from Eclipson, and the PLA+ was incredible. Regular PLA's layer adhesion wasn't any good for printing single perimeters.
    I haven't tried ST-PLA. It's more pricey. I'll wait until other companies make it and force the price down.

      With there being little to no cost difference, the PLA+ is an easy win. I agree that the PLA Super Tough is definitely more pricey for now but if that's what your build calls for, then it's a nice option to have.

    Strange that you had found PLA+ to snap at a lower angle to PLA, as the stiffness seems to be significantly lower. I suppose the reduced ultimate strength causes it to snap earlier.

    What microphone do you use? It seems to have a great sound. Be very interested to know what software you are using for video and audio too - do you post-process your audio? Brilliant video btw. Watching more and have subscribed.

      whatever it is, it's pretty bad. but that's expected from a lavaliere microphone.

    Should’ve gotten all of them in black since its often higher quality

    ST seema similar to petg in ductility? I'd prob just use pet if I needed that.

    • @The3DPrintingZone
      @The3DPrintingZone  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm going to see if I can run these same tests with PETG and see how they compare. Should be interesting.

    too bad you didn't test their heat resistance. LTT printed out a open air case out of normal PLA and put I think high their parts in it. It would probably go soft very quickly.

      Good call - that’s something I’ll consider for next time for sure.

    How about a "summary" at the end so I don't have to watch the whole thing?

    What's the point of printing an irregular arbitrary shape? Print a torus without infill, just perimeters.

  • @arthurmorgan8966

    PLA-ST looks like ABS per your tests, minus the heat resistance of course.

    • @The3DPrintingZone
      @The3DPrintingZone  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No - these were all set to (I believe) 25% infill. I'm not in front of my laptop where I sliced them but I do know that they were all printed at the exact same infill and it wasn't 100%.

    • @The3DPrintingZone

      Comparing some of the nicer PLA (+ and ST) to PETG is definitely on my short list. I'm excited to see how they all do!
