    Chat to Code is going to revolutionize the dev/it industries and as always, some folks will not make it through.
    We're at a time when knowing a particular programming language is becoming unnecessary. All "devs", who I now call prompt operators, have to know is any language and ChatGPT will convert it to any other language. I grabbed some code I didn't know, had ChatGPT convert it to a language I do know (Python), made the changes I wanted, converted it back to the original language.
    And oh yeah, told ChatGPT to write terraform, test suites, docs, Github actions for it.

    This was great. Thank you guys. I've never heard of Dharmesh before, but I can see why his "geeky" presentation videos get such high numbers. He has charisma and he appears to speak with the conviction of his ideals. That is mesmerizing. Anyway, I only have one disagreement: It took me way more than one weekend to get "vector embeddings". Heck, it took me a few weeks, and tons of TH-cam videos, to really embrace what the term actually meant, let alone writing my own code (I use PHP, and I'm sticking with it!) to process them. For me, I didn't *get* vector embeddings until I understood where, in the whole Vector Store to Chat Completion architecture, it belonged. But once that happened, I was off to the AI races. Great conversation guys, a lot of food for thought.

    One of the strange mind boggling things about AI is that it is moving so quick it feels like anything you do will be done much easier the next month or the next year. It makes the entire market like shifting sands. This is an exaggeration but why spend a year building a company when in one year someone will be able to make that same company in one month. It is almost like the most intelligent thing to do is not work and collect welfare.

    Crazy how I earned a web design degree 2016. Web designers and coders were becoming useless then, because of the web builders, and owners not caring about aesthetically pleasing sites. Now becoming even more obsolete. Worst part is, they talk like this is new. I’d be willing to bet my life companies like Google have been utilizing this to give them the newest ideas and build their apps since inception.

    GPT isn't going to help people in some of the most fundamental areas of their lives. It will increase productivity but that will largely be captured by the rich. You will have an ever increasing impressive suite of technology but people will still be struggling probably even worse to afford a house and survive. I don't want to be pessimistic but it definitely seems different than other tech revolutions in that it is much more of a winner takes all rather than the early days of say Iphone where if you can make any app you have a business.

    At the 13:10 mark forward Shaan talks about building a website from scratch and actually get it to being online. Where did you start this? Did you use open AI or another source and then did you have to go to a company such as Go Daddy for example to host the website so it is available for everyone online? That is one thing I have been trying to learn but have not been successful at this point. I know others have done it but I’m not sure where they are starting and then hosting. Please advise.

I'm a retired Infantry Paratrooper and am trying to teach myself the skills required to take advantage of these opportunities. It is an extremely steep learning curve for a grunt with TBI, but I built over 100 websites and teaching myself a bit of coding. My main transferable skill is Jiu-Jitsu.

  • @DougSeven
    @DougSeven ปีที่แล้ว

    The reason is "guesses" so perfectly is because it uses math. Think of each letter, each word as the beginning of a math equation. That's MUCH more reliable than guessing _what you're going to say next_ ... it can be so accurate because it's doing math, which is always going to be accurate. With words alone, there are almost infinite possibilities, with numbers, they always land accurately. And, that's also why they say to be specific and detailed with your prompts.

    Seriously doubt if the key makes much difference to Pandora. More likely tempo, harmony, melody, lyrics. Probably lyrics primarily, because most people listening to popular music are too musically insensitive to respond to much beyond lyrics and a very obvious "beat". Otherwise, they would be listening to jazz and/or classical music and would be beyond lyrics entirely.
