Bourbon battles I probably find the most valuable because it allows me to draw comparisons of something I usually want to taste, with something I've actually tasted.
Y'alls commentary is always entertaining and often useful. So your Bourbon Battles are a great resource for deciding which bottle I should lean toward grabbing if I saw both in a store. Keep doing em for sure.
I didn't expect disco 12 to fly of the shelves like it did. I missed my shot at it (for now) ..but I'm definitely picking up an 11 after hearing David's blind notes! Great vid!
Love the comparison videos. Helps me know if I should pull the trigger on certain bottles. Like this video helped me calm down on my FOMO for disco 12. I bought 3 bottles of disco 11 and love it. This video made me feel like they are a little bit closer in quality than I thought
Got an 11 a few months ago and liked it, saw a few more out in the wild over the last month or 2 (right next to a few dicover 10's which I passed on) and got 2 backups of 11. Definitely keeping my eye out for 12.
I was at Bardstown during the weekend at had pours of both at the distillery after my tour and lunch. This was my first time having any Disco series. 11 got better each sip but 12 was my favorite that day so I bought a bottle.
Yeah we like the brand battles. They may not get high reviews but I'm sure it helps us make a decision...especially since funds are limited. Good work.
Definitely like the Bourbon (or Rye) Battles. Here’s why. I have Disco 11, and if you and others say Disco 12 is better, that makes it easy to make a buy. Applies to almost all annual releases.
I've run this blind three times so far: 11 won once and 12 took it the other two times. Absolutely love them both. Hopefully I can find a 2nd bottle of 12....
Discovery 12 over 11 for me... and it isn't even close. 12 is dark fruity (black cherry), oaky and layered/complex with just the right amount of sweetness and spice. It tastes 12-14 years old. I think 11 is brighter, less oaky and less refined. It tastes about 8-10 years old, max. Matt Porter's review is spot-on, in my opinion. Agree with Zach this time.
Prefer the one up 1v1 as compared to a comparative 1v1. For example, M10 ‘23 v ‘24 would be 🔥. Grabbed a disco 12 today and looking forward to the d11 blind.
The Disco 12 to me is far superior to me. I enjoyed the Disco 11, but didn’t live up to the hype for me. Disco 12 really stood out for me when I did a flight at Bardstown over the weekend.
Blending Bardstown Bourbon Discovery Series 11 and 12 could create a unique tasting experience that combines the rich, layered flavors of both releases. Here's a speculative tasting note based on the individual profiles of each series: Nose: Expect a complex aroma with fruit-forward notes like oranges, cherries, and raspberry jam from Series 12, complemented by the deeper scents of cinnamon sugar and rich oak from Series 11. Additional sweet notes such as brown sugar and vanilla may emerge. Palate: The combination could offer a rich tapestry of flavors. From Series 11, you might taste toffee, cinnamon spice, and buttery baking spices. Series 12 could add layers of nutty flavors, cappuccino, and root beer, along with sweet caramel and fruity elements like lime zest and cherry. Finish: The finish might be long and complex, with lingering flavors of ripe red fruit, luscious oak, roasted nuts, and hazelnut spread. The chalky texture noted in Series 12 might add an unusual mouthfeel that contrasts with the smoothness from Series 11. This blend would likely result in a bourbon that is both complex and balanced
Always drove me nuts when you guys are wearing hoodie/sweaters in the summer. I'm like wtf it's 100 degrees today who wears a hoodie? Smh. It's still 95+ here in south Texas so no goodies till December around here. Even then it's only a few times a month at that.
@@bourbonkingdom no hoodies till December I meant. June thru September I'm laying back sipping in my recliner with a frozen 32oz gatorade bottle on my chest! No joke!
As someone that’s never had a discovery series, would you recommend it for the price? I’m a big michters fan. Love the michters barrel strengths and bombergers. Can anyone give me an idea if I might like these as a michters fan?
@@bourbonkingdom thanks. I will have to find a bar to try it at first. I haven’t dabbled with Bardstown outside of the origin rye, which was awesome. Hopefully they do some single barrel picks or a cask strength version soon.
Bourbon battles I probably find the most valuable because it allows me to draw comparisons of something I usually want to taste, with something I've actually tasted.
I have both. Haven’t opened the 12 yet. The 11 is ridiculous and hard to beat. Can’t wait to figure this one out for myself!!! 🍻
I always enjoy comparison/bourbon battle vids.

Battle of the M10s is a definite yes.
Couple of Slurs McGees. Love it. Great channel, boys!

I can’t help but notice the huge hurt you all put on that 12. Looks like a seal of approval to me.
They sampled a lot of it out to people I’m pretty sure
Love the bourbon battles- please keep em coming! Even better when I have the bottles to play along!

We sampled Disco 12 last night for the 1st time and it was awesome, but I think the Disco 11 is a little better.

Love the bourbon battles keep em coming
The battles are my favorite content. I really enjoy 11, and hope I can find a 12 soon
love the blind bourbon battles!
Yes to battles.
yes i like the same distillery comparisons
Yes on battles
I feel like 12 has the turkey on the nose more. Enjoyed them both. Just depends if you want the citrus of 12 or the French oak of 11

Yes love the battles
Disco 11 smacks ya around a little bit but there’s some flavor burst in there. Disco 12 is just a refined masterpiece.

Bardstown Bourbon 🙌🏻
If I ever find either, which is unlikely, I'm buying
I vote all the above. The more videos put out the better. Cheers 🥃
I love disco 11. 12 is very good, but 11 takes it for me.
I still haven't seen Disco 12 in the Denver metro area. 😢
Why not have Dave shuffle your glasses after you pour them? That way you’re both drinking single blind.

12 is for Fall. 11 is for spring
Like this comp
12 is definitely sugary sweet but I prefer 11 given the dusty cocoa and more subdued sweetness.

his basement is super cold though.

Might be in the minority but I think I prefer disco 11 mainly due to that heavy wild turkey funk. Both great nonetheless

I am a bardstown and Michter's fan (David). I dont think they are the same profile at all but Bardstown is a great bottle and is worth having for sure

M10, but only ‘23 to rank barrels, because lord knows you have A-Q or something insane.
I liked the 12 better
All the sudden, most TH-camrs talking about this brand.
I think doing the comparisons is a great idea but would be better if they are done blind.
woo hoo
Zach, how do you work with him LOL
I know right lol.
Just got my 12 and compared to 11 and 4, (biased 🦃 guy) I had 4 over 11 and 11 over 12
I think 4 is the best disco.
I have also done the same. And agree
If I have the 11, should I even get the 12?
I like the comparisons videos but I think you should blind them.
