fr I grew up with someone who's parents strapped their arms to their sides when they got upset as a toddler (I think they just used a few long sleeved shirts tied together), and it was really scary for them, I remember seeing the parents do it to the younger sibling and I was so baffled, and the older kid (a few years older than me) said yeah they did that to me when I was a baby and it was so scary to be stumbling about feeling trapped and restrained, tears rolling down your face, not being able to move properly.
