As a Canadian who's been a fan since childhood and has started to rewatch it all, I can say that it's S tier. I knew for a fact it aged well before the rewatch because I remember a lot about it-not everything, but enough to know that in hindsight, the show seemed to age pretty well.
I loved the show so much, I never expected a show about a high schooler who recieved detention for the rest of high school to end up into a pyramid scheme, hypnotizing and green fizz or whatever that drink was
Trust me we exist, it’s just that due to the fact America didn’t get an official release and a lot of us got into the series after it’s release you don’t hear much about the fandom

For everyone asking what it’s called, I believe they’re talking about Let The Future Tell the Truth by Milletrye on AO3. It really is incredible and could feasibly be a conclusion to the show. The fic world builds the same way the show does and it makes it that much better to read. I used to check AO3 every day when it was updating, THAT is how good it is. Highly recommend.

My mates and I were talking childhood shows until I mentioned Detentionaire and only ONE other person had watched it! An hour later and we had a battle plan where I’d host a watch party and we’d all watch the show in one weekend. It was incredible, not just re-living my childhood but connecting the mystery with my friends and becoming so obsessed that we all freaked out when something was revealed. We ended up finishing the series in our own time cause ww couldn’t watch it all then, but the heartache I felt when I realised the show ended before it had even begun it’s most integral part of the story. With it without friends, this is an incredible show on both a writing standpoint and animation standpoint. I’ve yet to see another show replicate the surreal vibe of Detentionaire, nor do I think I ever will. If you have the time, WATCH IT. I can’t be the only one with the opening song playing on repeat in my head (not complaining, it slaps haha).
The moment i saw the art style and the tone of the show. I knew right away where it was from. The gross élément « dirty » jokes, the realness of the teen. Its not kidish but not too grown up. I really like this studio work. Weirdly enough i love stoked, this and total drama much more than 6teen their most popular show
Also when I first watched detentionaire the foreshadow for the 113 B shocked me so much cause you would never think those announcements were important at all or would even pay attention to them like that is such a good foreshadow happening in the FIRST EPISODE
Just finished rewatching all of Detentionaire for the 3rd time at least, and now I find this video singing this show’s praises! RISE UP DETENTIONAIRE FANS WHOOOO!!! Thank you so much for making this video praising this show and encouraging viewers to watch it! Detentionaire was a huge part of my teenage years, and I’m definitely looking for ways to encourage friends of mine to watch it. Will definitely need to share this video with some of those friends.

Its funny how both moville mysteries and detentionaire are both Canadian nelvada animated science fiction mystery series that sadly never got to finish there story and were screwed over by the American broadcasting system
@@JamesEnwrightoh its great, its pretty much like a precurcer to Gravity falls but a hell of a lot darker, its a lot like courage and invader zim But with a clearly more Twilight zone flair to it Lots of charachters including the namesake of the show die in very gruesome ways, there is a serial killer in episode 3, demonic possession, People being cannibalised, it was a very good science fiction horror show that sadly was very poorly treated by both the American broadcasting and even ytv who gave this show some of the worst promo's, misreading the show as a Goofy grossout comedy when the show had very little to no grossout
Watched this show because of your video. Really enjoyed it and really enjoyed through season 2. Seasons 3 & 4 weren’t quite as strong but still well done. Was super sad at the cliffhanger ending on season 4. Hope we get a new one at some point for at least some closure!
I didn't watch this show much as a kid because my parents didn't like the main character's disregard for the principal's authority (stupid, I know). It always struck me as interesting. I'm definitely going to check it out again after this.
I thought this was a new cartoon, since its shown up randomly on Film-Rise. My opinion is mixed. Plenty of ethnicity diversity but also wild and occasionally perfectly timed humor. In conclusion... this is like Clone High + Total Drama.
This video unlocked a lot of childhood nostalgia for me! For so many years I vaguely remembered watching a show like this but I could never put a name to it. But this video helped me remember after all these years and now after watching this I’m pretty tempted to watch the show! I just discovered this show while watching a commemoration of forgoten cartoon networks show and today I finish it , just wow , I need more of it a fuck1ng conclusion ( if you see the final episode you will understand ) There is multiple things that I did call it and when they finale revealed it I was like " I CALL IT "

This message has massive spoilers so if anyone hasn't watched yet don't read but I want to know at what point do you think Lee's mom was swapped for the clone personally I think it was during the save the rainforest episode there's a part where she's separated from most everyone, before that point his parents argue a lot and there's the scene of his dad saying"she already hates me" but we never get an elaboration on why and there's a clear implication she knows things, everything after that point in the story they no longer argue and they seem to get along great and there are no hints to them having issues, she also seems to have no clue about the conspiracy involving Cassandra, in the end when she reunites with Lee she recognizes him instantly and there seems to be no moment of her thinking he looks different or anything for a teenager it must mean atleast the original her must have seen him before any recent growth spurts or major hair changes to not hesitate at his appearance that's also right before she randomly fights blomkins and RIGHT before she tries to send him away

It started with Lee just trying to unravel the mystery of the prank the more evidence to God, the bigger and more dark the conspiracy became, and he realized it was much bigger than him, proving his innocence. It was about the fade of the world. It was a great show. It was like an enigma wrapped in a mystery of awesomeness. It was great had dark and grim moments, but was pretty awesome. Too bad they didn’t make more episodes.

I loved Detentionaire as a kid. I was 7 when I first watched it and I started taking notes on the first episode. Also as I grew up with Teletoon, I loved the animated bits where Biffy on his laptop on top of the T telling people more detentionaire will be back.
I remember a time in the last few years when i worked at a warehouse for a spell, with mandatory overtime night shifts that would have me working from 4 PM to 5 AM, and even then i'd find myself wanting to stay awake just to watch Detentionaire. I remember i initially heard of it from a canadian friend who spoke really high praises, which wasn't common for him, so i took his word for it and gave it a try. absolutely goated series.
This is only a few months late, but really solid video! I've yet to watch Detentionaire, but I think this video convinced me. Your analysis was well done, and I like your passion for the show

I was still young enough that I didn't consider the possibility of a fandom exisiting on things like the internet, nor got as obsessed as I did with later shows like TMNT 2012, but I was still left intrigued over what would happen next and still recall the show very fondly.
