  • We are at Week 19 of the Budget Build. We installed the Northwest Scaler Designs Scattergun V2 Chassis Rails. This is a pretty straight forward install. Most stock parts will swap over, some will not be reused. Only thing that you need to purchase is some nylon locknuts for the shocks.
    $75.00 on the rails
    $48.51 leftover for next week
    Link to purchase rails: dixielandrc.ecwid.com/NWSD-SC...

    Researching both the Scattergun and the Brazin ATL I tried to justify the Scattergun, but looking at center of gravity improvements I couldn’t justify the Scattergun as everything basically stays the same from the CG perspective (motor and transmission sits about in the same position as stock). The main advantage is being able to lay the shocks down, but really that is attainable by different shock towers like IERC on the rear and Team Raffee on the front. You can use shock keys as well. I ended up with the Brazin ATL as it drops the transmission and motor down. The Shapeways cart you end up with is quite a bit of sticker shock with the Brazin though and that’s the draw of the Scattergun

      Is it a near bolt on conversion for the trx4 like the scattergun?

I ordered the last nwsd chassis rail for trx4 and just hoping I can still use the 2 spa and locking diff servos? Anyway you can just verify that for me would be really appreciated. I just found your videos and have been catching up. Great video quality as I have come to expect, I was a little disappointed that in the beginning you really talked the rails up with how well they would fit, then seemingly struggled with the entire install. I suppose they just aren't for me, I think if they came prebent I would be way more into it.

    • @DixielandRC
      @DixielandRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah. I kinda rushed and got a little aggravated. I have done a few other sets of rails and did them a bit differently. Went together easy. All aftermarket rails have to be bent.

      @@DixielandRC thanks for the reply! I'm new to crawling but I've been into "go fast" RC's for years. I have noticed that the aftermarket chassis rails all seem to need to be bent. • @DixielandRC
      @DixielandRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah i built it in real time. So I made mistakes. But its still rocking and rolling (tumbled down a 400ft mountain) and no issues. Majority of the stock stuff will fit on this chassis.
