I always felt like her comment was such a selfish act. It showed an utter lack of respect for the show, the writers, the network, her fellow actors and the ones who nominated her. While i loved the beginning stages of Grey's, Katherine leaving was not detrimental to the show's success. great answer on Shonda's remarks about her. it shows her humbleness and i like that.

Shonda had invested so much weight on her plot. I'm not on anyone's side but one thing I have to agree with is that the writing was very bad towards izzie. in season 1 she was amazing,in season 2 I also loved the plot with Denny Duquette but however the writing towards her character just faded away and she barely got surgeries or was "important" like Cristina,Mer or Alex. I love Katherine and I love Shonda and this feud between them just really bothers me. When I first heard about this, I was thinking about how bad it could have gotten behind the scenes or how it could have gotten so bad as to write out such a lovable character. I do typically take Katherine's side because when she was referring to the writing of the show and how she didn't consider it worthy of an Emmy I did see her point. Izzie did destroy a marriage and seemed to be not very considerate of it and came off as almost a villain, and her and George as a couple seemed a little cheap because they always were seen as brother and sister. Then when Izzie got the cancer storyline, I felt like Shonda was trying to make up for the previous season by giving Katherine organic writing and material. So I don't really know where I am at, but for Shonda to say that there are no Heigl's on her shows anymore was I felt a little too far and it almost seemed like she was trying to intentionally destroy Katie's career. I love them both and I really hope they can put it behind them and Katie can be back on Grey's!!!

To everyone defending her for pulling herself from Emmy consideration, consider the following: 1.) she didn’t say my performance wasn’t up to par, she blamed the story. I would watch anything Katherine is in! Literally anything. She's so natural on screen, and hilarious. She's great at conveying a lot through body language and facial expression without words. (Same with Sandra Oh) I LOVE THEM!

Noctis, you cannot be that simpleminded or delusional. Saying that what she was made to do wasn't good enough to merit an emmy is in fact an insult to the writers since they wrote those scenes she didn't think was good enough for an award. There is no other way to take that, which is why the show's writers were offended. If you notice, it wasn't the technicians or directors or the co-actors that took umbrage, it was the writing staff. Why would that be if in fact is wasn't about them?

While i loved the beginning stages of Grey's, Katherine leaving was not detrimental to the show's success. great answer on Shonda's remarks about her. it shows her humbleness and i like that.

I'm not on anyone's side but one thing I have to agree with is that the writing was very bad towards izzie. in season 1 she was amazing,in season 2 I also loved the plot with Denny Duquette but however the writing towards her character just faded away and she barely got surgeries or was "important" like Cristina,Mer or Alex. I love Katherine and I love Shonda and this feud between them just really bothers me. When I first heard about this, I was thinking about how bad it could have gotten behind the scenes or how it could have gotten so bad as to write out such a lovable character. I do typically take Katherine's side because when she was referring to the writing of the show and how she didn't consider it worthy of an Emmy I did see her point. Izzie did destroy a marriage and seemed to be not very considerate of it and came off as almost a villain, and her and George as a couple seemed a little cheap because they always were seen as brother and sister. Then when Izzie got the cancer storyline, I felt like Shonda was trying to make up for the previous season by giving Katherine organic writing and material. So I don't really know where I am at, but for Shonda to say that there are no Heigl's on her shows anymore was I felt a little too far and it almost seemed like she was trying to intentionally destroy Katie's career. I love them both and I really hope they can put it behind them and Katie can be back on Grey's!!!
