Westerners are in general not very used to discomfort so taking bitter herbs/remedies isn't something most of them do...Also they're typically used to eating/drinking a lot of added sugar so they tend to expect things to not be bitter or even just bland.A few of us like myself & my mother mix up very bitter herbs to drink for health but we're unusual🤗.

The country is very rich in culture and history. It would take a longer documentary to address it all, but in short, and to answer your questions, they have an active democracy, people may speak freely about their political views; The islands are subtropical - there is plenty of rainfall, and no lack of water, although it is rarely plumbed, but rather obtained from the nearest spring, stream, or outdoor laundry; apart from fishing and agriculture, there is work in tourism, the islands being a popular spot for people coming from or flying through Portugal via direct flight; apart from cacao, coffee, vanilla, and pepper are produced; whilst traditionally the islanders are mostly of Catholic persuasion, there are around nine other Christian denominations; transport between the islands is made by plane or boat, and motorbikes are used extensively within the islands, being used as the most common kind of taxi service too...truly there is so much to find about on these islands. They are very beautiful and special.

Beautiful country. Beautiful people making the best life they can with what they have. It's a difficult job the environmental official has, trying to help people understand conservation in order to sustain their future. And it's a tough call, weighing the cutting down of one tree to make two boats versus the high cost of buying boats made of synthetic materials which may have an even greater environmental impact. He needs the wisdom of Solomon to do his work.

Inexhaustible is not created by the people who have always depended on the sea for their food supply, rather by outside conglomerates fishing only to make a profit. Modern technology has increased the tonnage of harvesting from the sea,not these poor people. Education is good, but look to your own backyard. They are not the cause of world wide over fishing and things such as deforestation, but the demon conglomerates. Where else can these people go, whose resources have been effected by modern technology. Unfortunately it is always the result of western civilization and encroachment on the lesser people who barely get enough to survive. Resulting on intrusion by these mammoths to include them in the decline of resources. It's a fact it's far easier to remove or convince these people of a dilemma begun somewhere else.

You can't stop the European. They come to these parts to learn, take the knowledge back to their continent and convert it into $$$$.This makes them millionaires.

Try the Americans...Our country ❤️ to tell itself we're "#1" & that we're the gold standard for the rest of the 🌎 to follow but in reality our families are falling apart, our land/water is polluted, our society 💭 that wealth equals success & "happiness", etc.We are the modern dumpster 🔥 that tries to sell itself as paradise & it is 💔.
