This is literally the only connection to my childhood, I used to listen to this song for hours on end, and in fact the Demo button on mine was completely worn off, I am not sure whatever happened to the keyboard, but thanks to you, I have my song again, and I just purchased one of these bad boys off of ebay, just so that I can re-live my childhood. So the thing about this... bop, here, is its endless capacity to annoy adults while enamoring small children. As a preschooler, I must have killed 10,000 AA batteries serenading my little world via that demo button. I am absolutely certain that this here ditty will haunt every adult that ever babysat or taught me. To them, the seventh circle of hell is PSS-80 Demo Song on repeat with a maniacally-laughing 5-year-old lurking just around the corner. These adults are all good people now. No doubt, they don't want to go to hell, to spend eternity in the City of Dis with the unceasing echoes of PSS-80 Demo Song. Look y'all, everyone in my house hated it. Everyone in my life hated it. I LOVED it. I had all the power. I had PSS-80 Demo Song and a mischievous uncle who kept the battery supply stocked. I could rule the school, nay, the whole world. I could be king. The anthem of my global empire would be PSS-80 Demo Song. ....That is, until the keyboard got taken away by my parents for, frankly, valid and predictable reasons. It was disappointing to lose my kingdom and my toy in one swoop. Oh, how I mourned this devastating loss... until I found it, years later, and pressed the demo button as a grown man. Suddenly, I understood. PSS-80 Demo Song is adult repellent. I was no longer welcome in my own kingdom. I was an outsider, forever banished. I cannot wait to buy my niece her first keyboard. I'm sure it will come with a demo song. It will echo across the halls of her palace as the red carpet rolls out and she struts throughout her very own Great Hall. She will sit upon her monogrammed throne and laugh as everyone around her recoils at the tune. Some traditions are meant to fade over time, but not this one. As long as there are small children and kitschy keyboards, and there are uncles to supply them with all the batteries they need, the Kingdom of Demo Land will persist indefinitely.

And there’s my soundtrack to Christmas 1988. I remember the record option would only read 1 note at a time, so if you mashed your hands on the keys you’d get jazz improv when you played it back.
My mom got one of these when she was little, and I’m playing with it right now and it’s so cool. I’ve learned how to play the first part of the demo song by using one key at a time and it’s really cool
