  • So you're thinking about getting an airbrush, but you're a bit overwhelmmed with the choices and learning curve? Well hopefully this episode will help guide you in the right direction! I'll introduce you to the airbrush and compressor I use (and recommend), plus I'll show you the basis of how to operate, clean, disassemble and reassemble one of the best and most common airbrushes on the market = the Badger Patriot.

great video, i notice that many airbrushes especially cheaper models have very little up/down on the trigger & i think this leads to more paint clogging , also i apply grease to every thread & between the trigger & back lever for smoothness of action.

Thats a great point! I also apply oil to the reach needle tube. Defintiely makes a difference in operation.

Great video and thank you for it. Just as an aside, and maybe I missed it, but what size tip/needle are you using in this video? Also what PSI are you running? (I know brushes and tanks differ :) Thanks!

Great questions! I should have covered those. I use the standard needle that came with the Patriot. It’s labeled as “F” for ‘fine’ and it’s the 0.5mm needle.
I run the compressor at around 14-15 PSI.

Hi, what camera do you use and how do you get it to focus so well? I recorded a tutorial recently and it was hard to get my camera to focus from foreground to background etc. I was using a Logitech Brio Webcam. Also, what is your camera and lighting setup? It's very well done!

Thanks for watching! I believe its a Canon M50. Rather basic but its NOT set to auto focus. Instead I have it at a set focal length and try to keep everything in the frame. Basic LED strip lighting.
