I just started with ableton (and production in general) less than a month ago. I’m also entering a remix contest because why not. I just wanted you to know this video is SO HELPFUL! There was a lot I was doing the extra hard way, and a lot I couldn’t even figure out yet on my own. Fantastic resource and I’ll be returning (probably several times) to break this video down and make notes. Seriously, thank you!!!
It’s so refreshing and rare to find a mixture of real-world experience, practical advice, motivation, and kindness. I really appreciate the effort you put into this! It’s inspired me more than you know.
I was stuck in front of this software wondering how I would be able to produce something cool and you completely unlocked a ton of possibilites for me here ! Big up and keep up the good work like this many thanks !
I've been producing for about a decade just for fun up until recently getting a decent original signed to a small record label! I wish i had known the acapella trick sooner, Produce a remix, Then mute the Acapella and release it as an original!! BROOO MY MIND IS BLOWN🤯 THANK YOU!!
I've always written songs the "traditional" way, pen and paper and a voice recorder, along with the help of learning some music theory when I was younger and eventually learning to play the uke - but I've really wanted to get into producing. Your videos have been mega helpful but this one in particular has encouraged me to actually start working on a track that I'm somewhat proud of already, and I don't feel completely lost. So thank you for what you do!
I have wanted to get into this for easily 12 years. This video only 2mins in, is that final push I needed. Looks like Ableton is the one for me and I will see how I get on with this video lol
love this type of video, really gives greenhands like me some useful tips and the whole pipeline of making a song. pls make more vids like this in the future!!!
I'm writing a remix now and this was exactly what i needed to see. I was struggling with the acapella trying to figure out how to make the vocals fit. With these tips, hopefully i can knock this one out the park.
I was today years old when I discovered your other music, Mr. Popular. Lol, everything you make is ear candy! Another amazing tutorial, thank you, Ethan!!!
You are truly a genius You made a great music in the shortest possible time And it helped me to arrange my songs Please never delete this video from TH-cam
Your videos are amazing and they have helped me a lot and I still have ways to go! I'm brand spanking new at this with a crazy view of what I am aiming to do! Thank you so much for making these videos and I can't wait to see more because I need all the help I can get!
This is by far your best video yet. Loved everything about it. the way you showed everything you were doing. the way you stayed native in Ableton so I don't get lost when you switch to a 3rd party plug in and I don't know what it means. Also love that you are putting together an edm course. great job Ethan. can't wait to see what you make after this.
Hey Ethan! You're doing a great job with your emotive and motivational teaching skillset. I'm feel more and more comfortable with learning all of this as I started just a month ago. Keep it up!
i really love that in your tutorial videos, you try to use the stock sounds from ableton. I love that because as a beginner producer i only have stock sounds.💪💪🙏🙏
You are very good teaching. My issue is making music that all sounds alike. Remember the people who made real hit records that everyone knows, that permeated culture and has stood for generations could walk into a studio or onto a stage and actually perform it.
I really hate to see you havent gained the ammount of subs you deserve yet. but Ig im here early cuz luckily Im seeing your not quiting any time soons!! ❤😊
why does it seem when I do ur step by step and others aswell some samples dont match the tempo..I get sooo frustrated trying to remix songs and end up stopping.. I have tried shorting samples aswell but same.. ill add simple kicks to see if matches up and will always sound sooo off
@@CompleteProducer also i recommend downloading the UVR-MDX-NET Inst HQ 3 model. if you open up the options, you can download new models. that one works the best for extracting basically studio quality acapellas. let me know what you think
when will edm producer pro be released and can we purchase that separate from complete producer pro. Really just looking to learn to make edm music similar to that of audien, Twinsick, discolines, John summit!!!
Silly question. I'm new to production. Can't I just take a track I like and import it instead of the acapella and build around it the same as you have here?
Do you intentionally avoid using the looping function for your midi sections? If so, how come? I find it so much smoother and tidier than copy+pasting notes, and really helpful if i want to tweak a progression or groove.
i think i do it the way i do out of habit and because i started by knowing some piano first and tried to translate that into a DAW. but use whatever method helps you work faster and stay inspired!
Men love your videos! I would love to see a video where you make funky house. I am trying to make a song like Menesix - Love in Rio but i find it so hard to make like these funky piano chords en other elements in te song. Could you make a video about something like that? Thanks for all te help! ❤️
This channel is amazing. Love your content. I am a teacher at a school in NYC teaching music production and I was wondering if I could get the acapella to this for my music production crouse on a unit in teaching how to make remixes. This will be strictly a use of educational purposes. Thank you in advance for your your response. _Orrin

Hi Ethan!! Love your vids. You explain straightforward. It's easy to understand your great videos.
You are very good teaching. My issue is making music that all sounds alike. Remember the people who made real hit records that everyone knows, that permeated culture and has stood for generations could walk into a studio or onto a stage and actually perform it.

Maaaaaan thanks a lottttt❤❤❤ so nicely explained
Great video. How did you get the music audio clips from?
GOAT! 🤌
anyone trying to get solid vocals from any track. UVR will extract you real clean stuff
thanks for the rec. i usually use LALAL.AI
@@CompleteProducer also i recommend downloading the UVR-MDX-NET Inst HQ 3 model. if you open up the options, you can download new models. that one works the best for extracting basically studio quality acapellas. let me know what you think
Thanks for the vids @Ethan! Out of curiosity, what's the purpose of the limiter in this (and why did you go for independence)?
Just found your channel, and wow! Very useful..... So yeah I subscribed 🎉
very high quality video, thanks alot 😎
when will edm producer pro be released and can we purchase that separate from complete producer pro. Really just looking to learn to make edm music similar to that of audien, Twinsick, discolines, John summit!!!
you are brilliant
Thank you for this legend
wow❤❤❤ waiting for your vodeos
Does the file have to be a specific one when dragging the vocals in Ableton? Mine won't take it, it doesn't work
Silly question. I'm new to production. Can't I just take a track I like and import it instead of the acapella and build around it the same as you have here?
Would it be weird if I ask for a tutorial on your file management? How to get my folders to auto back up to my Dropbox from my external hard drive
Awesome channel!
Thank you! Such a great video. Have you ever used Invisible Limiter on the master? If so, whats your opinion on that VS Pro L?
i havent! sounds like an intriguing plugin to me. I prefer Pro L2 out of habit and experience so I'd recommend it as my first choice
Do you intentionally avoid using the looping function for your midi sections? If so, how come? I find it so much smoother and tidier than copy+pasting notes, and really helpful if i want to tweak a progression or groove.

great tutorials mate !
a question, if i want to rmx a pop song into 174bpm drum n bass, do i need to timestretch vocals or does the warp thing this ?
warp will do that!
I would love if you did something emotional like shiver by John summit🙏
Who would you recommend for courses on producing country/ rock records?
honestly, i don't know, that's a great question! my course is designed for any genre, but I'm sure there are people who specialize in country/rock
Can you explain instruments arrangement ?
Thank you!
