you literally have the best DADGAD videos on the net... /(guitar vids in general..) efficient, competent, great voicings & phrasings.. (i like the F# 7ths, assuming you're playing in G as the I, personally) especially putting the chords in the description is so helpful!
[i like to think of this tuning as going to d-standard, & tuning to a (022100 "E Maj. chord"), in contrast to "open-G's (002220)]
OUTSTANDING... best lesson on alternate I've EVER seen ...LOTS of info presented too fast for me.. so I'll just play back the good parts in slo-mo!.. Jimmy Page's Bronyaur Stomp is the "happiest' alternate tuning song ever I think... not sure of the tuning but I think I'll try to learn it next... Thanks so much!
I've found my Tutor in this channel! You're awesome!
This one was very helpful! Especially the progressions at the end. Would love to see one on more progressions and structures.
Let me see what I can do about that. Thanks for watching.
Thanks Tom I love your lessons ... keep on going ...
Mario Etzler-Christianson You are welcome.
This is going to be a great help.
I want to get a seven string and tune it EGADDAD!
Thanks Tom, I learned a lot !
You are welcome sir!
Thanks. This is great.
wonderful!!!
Thanks Souhei!
Very good video
Thanks a ton :)
Glad to help!
I love your lough at 12:01 ........ seems like you also had some problem mastering that ! :-D
+mahammad saziz No doubt. Haha.
very helpful, is there a third part?
Not yet. But maybe I will do one.
These are good, exploring this for my church worship team, but I have a request -- can you add the images superimposed over the video, as you had on part 1? Then we don't have to scroll down to get the info and write it out.
Heather Thyne Let me work on it. Sorry I forgot I did that.
Done!
What other "alternate tunings" seem to be most popular/useful for various types of music, or used frequently by artists, like Paul Simon, John Denver, Neil Diamond, Neil Young, or some of the bands like Strawbs, America, NGDB, or any others that come to mind?!.... "Open D"; (D,A,D,F#,A,D), or (D,A,D,G,A,D), or "Open G", etc., etc.?! Where is there a good source/reference for chords(tabs) in any of these keys?!...
Here's a pretty comprehensive list of tunings and artists who use them...
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_guitar_tunings
As far as resources, I'm not aware of any, but I'm sure they're out there. That's kind of why I made the videos, because of a lack of information.
WOW!!! Thanks!!!
You are very welcome. Amazing list huh?
