I love Dylan in this mode. There’s a later overlooked one just like it from Love and Theft called Lonesome Day Blues that I’ve listened to probably over a hundred times, it just slays me, like this one.
Bob was on a roll from Blood on the Tracks, to Desire, and then Street Legal to Slow Train Coming, to the very gospel of Saved. Just brilliant run of albums all changing, all sounding different at the highest levels of music and lyrics. 3 tracks Idiot Wind - Blood on the Tracks Gonna Change my Way of Thinking - Slow Train Coming One More Cup of Coffee, with Emmylou Harris on backing vocals - Desire
In many cases Bob made their careers take off. Having him on your resume was very valuable. I’ve heard Emmy Lou Harris, Charlie Daniels, Charlie McCoy, T Bone Burnett, Al Kooper all say the same.
This is my favourite Dylan song. Its just so uplifting. Sing along in my car driving to work and im in the best mood for the day. Stoked to see Polo digging it too. Much love
This is a much younger Dylan…when his voice could sore,he would toss the ‘smokes’ every now&then. This is ‘Blood on the tracks’ one of his finest albums…you’ve just scratched the surface..of the mighty Dylan..father of song writers…♥️🇨🇦

Great reaction. I'm glad you appreciated it. This song has always been a favorite of mine. This album is full of gems and is considered to be one of Dylan's best. Buckets of Rain is another track from this album that always seems to put me in a good mood. Dylan is a master at storytelling and three of his greatest are featured on this LP. They are: Tangled Up In Blue; Lilly, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts; and Shelter from the Storm. If you prefer his deeper, thought provoking writings that are packed with loaded verses, there are many from his catalog I could recommend. A short list that come to mind are: It's Alright Ma (I'm Only Bleeding), Chimes of Freedom, A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall, and Desolation Row. These songs will certainly impress and will leave you thirsty for more. I hope you give them all the time and respect they deserve. Cheers!
Bob Dylan tunes...Jokerman, Don't Think Twice, Time Passes Slowly, Gotta Serve Somebody. The list goes on and on with his over 700 songs released. More Bob Please.
Yes! Awesome to watch you encounter this BEAST! If you're looking for more of that badass sound with absolutely killer songwriting, check out "Lion's Teeth" by the Mountain Goats. It dropped me dead in my tracks the first time I heard it. Would love to see that experience.
Hi Polo Greetings From England 🇬🇧 Bob Dylan is Truly an Iconic Singer and You Should Check Out His early Song" Things Have Changed " This is a Great Dylan Song
Over 600 musicians have released their own recordings of songs written by Dylan, creating more than 1,500 covers of nearly 300 unique songs. No track by Bob Dylan has been covered more often than ‘Blowin’ In The Wind’, which, according to SecondHandSongs, has been recorded by 375 artists since its original release.
This one has the same feel as some of the great twelve-bar blues recordings of The Rolling Stones of the same period and a bit earlier. It's really about as traditional as "The Blues" can be performed, echoing Robert Johnson, et al.
Today it seems that people are always asking what genre a performer is in. In the 60s and 70s no one cared about genres and songwriters wrote and played the music that they liked. Dylan had so many different sounds that he is impossible to classify that way. With that said, this blues tune is an exceptional example of what a talented singer, bass player, drummer and slide guitarist can do without any special effects. It's on my playlist too.
"I don't know how you go from writing the Hurricane to something like this." You have to be Bob Dylan, that's how. As far as his voice being different, have you heard Simple Twist of Fate yet? That's yet another sound from the Ultimate Chameleon.
Dylan spans all genres .. so much more to listen to, listen to Visions of Johanna, Chimes of Freedom, Desolation Row, Angelina, Just like Tom Thumb Blues, It's alright Ma, Subterranean Homesick Blues, Boots of Spanish Leather ... just the tip of the ice berg
Polo. SO HAPPY you liked this one. Had a feeling you might. While not one of the most well known. In my opinion one of the best. Sets a mood like only Dylan can. 4 Runner song for sure. Agree with other comments. Blood on the Tracks…..top to bottom every song is amazing. LOVE that you love and appreciate Dylan.
Really nice to hear you break out Meet Me In The Morning, Polo. And it is a rich track….such beautiful musicianship and brilliant storytelling. Thanks. I agree “bad ass”…..keep up your great work ✌️😎🙏
Top three Dylan tracks...difficult...but i go for the standards. 1. Visions of Johanna 2. Simple Twist of Fate 3. Desolation Row There ya go. His songs are always about a patchwork of people, real and literary, but all 3 reference his muse. Who's his muse?
From this album alone you get three amazing songs, Shelter from the storm, Tangled up in blue and If you see her say hello. Top BD. Changing of the guards Times they are a changing Masters of war.

I'm born in 60s I definitely got into Dylan when I found my musical taste though.
"Lilly, Rosemary, * the Jack of Hearts" A great one from the master of story telling.
Black Diamond Bay is as well.
