- Lord Beerus has awaken and has a preminition of an opponent worthy of his time. As he calls him, the Super Saiyan God. All the beings from Universe 7 fear this great Destroyer, and he is looking for someone to play with. This preminition starts the search for this mysterious figure from his dreams. That same reason and Lord Beerus rampage since he woke up is what has the Elder and Supreme Kai worried. Elder Kai confessed to Supreme Kai that Lord Beerus trapped him Inside the Z-Sword. This is Season 1 Episode 3, “Where does the Dream Pick Up? Find the Super Saiyan God!” from the Legendary Series Dragon Ball Super. It has been a while since the Z Fighters had a challenge, since Majin Buu. Dragon Ball Super is what comes after the cannon events of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z.

To be fair if you where him, you're a God that just sits around for probably thousands of years, you think you know everything, and literally in a fraction of his long lifespan, he's seen a sudden rise of a saiyan from earth, whoops a powerful dictator and what would only be a short time before he was fighting the God of destruction and being the potential end to the universe because he suggested a tournament to what essentially is the God of all gods

Senseless because instead of Destroying anything that is a threat to the Universe, he destroys planets because he didn't like the food. Because of this action by Beerus, Universe 7 was the second lowest mortal level.
I think he called it senseless because Beerus is destroying planets simply on a whim. In other words, he's somewhat abusing his position, essentially "power tripping"

Why is it hard to believe? Frieza could destroy a planet with a single finger in his first form in a matter of seconds/minutes. I always did wonder why it took him longer to destroy Namek in his final form (at that time). I mean even a Super Sayain 1 could defeat that form of Frieza. What surprises me is it took Beerus that long to destroy 8 planets but then again was this the same Beerus that sneezed and destroyed several planets in seconds? Hmm!

It was stated on that series that frieza was annoyed because he couldn't blow the Namek because he is already weakened by goku's attacks and also it was stated that Namek is way bigger than average planets.
pretty sure frieza was completely unharmed when he destroyed those planets. on namek, he was beaten down by ssj goku and tried to destroy the planet as a "fuck this" move. goku even notes that frieza was too afraid to completely obliterate namek since he'd still get caught in the blast.

(As i understand it) This Supreme Kia was not properly prepared in basically any way due to his predecessor being sealed in the Z Sword and the other major Kias getting killed off by Evil Buu.

That doesn’t make sense, why didn’t beerus mention anything when he saw him outta the sword, why didn’t they mention why he did it? It's also weird that Old Kai would refer to it as "senseless destruction", when that is literally the role of a Destroyer, and at other points we're reminded that, unlike when Frieza, or Buu, vaporized a world, its not "evil" when Beerus does it.

What beerus is doing isn't 'senseless destruction' it's his job. He is a god of destruction it's his job to destroy planets and it's the gods job to create planets. Also, beerus is a lazy god he spends most of his time sleeping around when he is supposed to be destroying planets. Beerus takes an 'amusing' spin on his job by destroying planets that have poor foods when i think there are more conditions a planet needs to fulfil to be spared. Also, he didn't suprise attack him -the creation god- is just too weak to dodge beerus' attack.
Heres the weird thing to me. Being a destroyer god is an actual Function of the universe. And a job given by Zeno.
Its actually important for the universe over all. That in point, Beerus is actually kind. Judging culture as valuable and allowing certain worlds to remain, and only destroying ones that are essentially antagonistic and without a value for the common man, given that culinary expression is usually a symptom of excess and experimentation.

In fact, Beerus is terrible at his job since he is just destroying random planets and not actually destroying the ones that are a threat to the universe. Also he always sleeps which led Supreme Kai force himself to prevent Majin Buu and Majin Buu destroy a lot of innocents that led the Universe 7 having low mortal level and Universe 7 was forced to join the tournaments.
