Wyoming truly is 'Wild and Wonderful'. I used to live there, and this spectacular fusion of audio and visual is amazingly moving. I drove by and into Devil's Tower everyday for work making those FedEx deliveries. I can't wait to tell my friends back in Wyoming about this. Thank you guys for putting this together!
I was born in Wyoming and lived there for 41 years until we were forced to leave for my husbands job....my heart will always be in Wyoming.....such a beautiful video....makes me homesick!!!!
Thanks Lori, most of the credit should go to Nic, the photographer who created the beautiful visuals. We're just responsible for the music. Awesome project though, we're very proud of it! :D
I love my state. One of my favorite things is seeing rain, hail, or snow, coming from miles away. And watching thunderheads explode upward into the sky.
Thank you Suzana, for such a wonderful heartfelt comment. We have nothing but praise for Nic, the landscapes move him to dedicate his time and talent to making these works of art. It's now become our own mission to visit those amazing places he illustrates so well. The Wyoming Tourist folks should take note :)
ghostkollective Thank you. My own poor attempt to express my awe: Hiraeth Sun-dyed clouds caress the peaks, Holy vapored hands stretch close And pull- fearful and unworthy- back, With beauty dazzled, they return. Coy shadow plays tides with light Ebb and flow of circling time Held fast against my trembling heart. Stars ballet across night’s deeps While silent lakes keep step And breath, once taken quite away, Is thrown willingly on high. Stretched barrens rolling to the edge Where arias of silent snows are sung. Acrobats of cloud cavort where lupines roam And thigh-rubbed thunder shouts for joy Strobed with searing purple heat. For skittering chattering us A flood of sliced and captured time. For Her, Earth, mother of us all, The slow and measured beat of molten heart. Carve me thin, beauty undeserved, my own heart laid bare To seek and see the naked glorious wonder, Soul embracing hiraeth for home I never had.
Not sure Posh would approve. Jump in a 4x4 and drive. There's plenty to see even in the UK. Yorkshire Dales, Peak District, Lakes, Snowdonia, Scottish Highlands, Giant's Causeway, etc.
Thank you. It was quite a new experience for us working closely (yet ironically at a great distance) with Nic. Our goal was to really meld the images and music together, so memorable lapses and music stick in your mind as one.
This is stunning! How I wish I could visit such beautiful places! I cannot even fathom what it's like to look up at a night sky and see stars.I see a smattering once in a while, if it's clear, but that's it.
Yes, I am an old woman now, and never seen a shooting star or even a sky so full of stars my entire long life. How wonderful to live in that beautiful place it must be.
Fiercely awesome clip. I've seen the breath taking Grand Tetons, Yellowstone National Park, Jackson Hole, and the kind & friendly people, cleanest water, at the humble Gater Motel/Hotel in Pine Bluffs. Your totally worth the visit! Thank you Wyoming!
Incredible piece of work: stunning photography and amazing soundtrack. Something to watch and listen on and on and on... Thanks guys for sharing with us
So exciting, however, I am anxious to know whether these all are natural or self-created. Would be pleased to hear from you soon. Thanks for sharing this wonderful video. Best regards, Nassa
Being a native of the area, and having hiked into some of these places over the years, I must say great work to Nicholas at capturing the unique beauty of these wilderness lands. Good music too. Works very well with it. Did you guys do the music to Stormscapes 1 & 2 as well?
Hey, glad you like it, Nic is super talented and very modest. Stormscapes uses music from other sources, they're also great choices. Nic has a good ear for stuff that suits each of his projects. We're just happy to help out when we can :) Wyoming looks awesome, we did put a lot of thought into the music for WW2 in particular, and hopefully it shows.
ghostkollective Your music for this is perfect, imo. Teton and Yellowstone National Parks are well worth seeing, and doing some summertime hiking in for those that have the time and funds.
***** The Teton Range is particularly beautiful hiking. On the South side there's a hiking trail up Death Canyon. I've also hiked up and around Mount Moran, though I didn't come across a proper trail on the lake side. There's also a popular hiking trail from the Driggs side that lead to pretty spectacular views of the Tetons. I guess if there's one recurring feature I only noticed one example of in Nic's time lapse videos it would be waterfalls. There are plenty of those scattered about Western Wyoming and Southeast Idaho. Many require hiking to get to.
Yes, Alaska would be excellent. If Nicholas is able to monetize on this work sufficiently, there are a lot of places around the world that would be stunning to see in time lapse photography. He has more skill at this than others I've seen previously.
Thanks Petr. You might also enjoy our song Storms which we've just posted. The video features a lot of storm/lightning footage around these spectacular Wyoming landscapes. th-cam.com/video/mswJuG4L_5o/w-d-xo.html
SlashHD thanks. Very much appreciated. We realise we're up against tortoise riding iguanas and Russian Unicorns and it's nice that some people manage to break through the noise and find us, still, somehow. We're lucky, we do this for fun. Our hearts go out to those trying to make music for a living in the current climate, it's an almost impossible task. Thanks again 😎
Beautiful! I love on the Idaho/Wyoming/Utah border, in Idaho. It is beautiful here, too. I am originally from Orlando, Florida and hate the big city and the horrible people in them. Love the simple, quiet beauty of the northwest area.
Good eye dude! Yeah, that is a cool spot. There are a few from Muddy Mountain in this vid. Close to home, and quite photogenic. Place doesn't get enough attention. The lupine fields on the south west side are amazing in late June.
Thanks, all credit to Nic. We're thrilled with the response particularly from Wyoming residents and people who really know the vibe of the places featured. We're humbled to hear people tell us we've somehow captured it in the soundtrack :)
IngeniousOutdoors you live in a stunning part of the World for sure. Next visit to the US will have to take in some of the sights we set the music to :D
Hi! I'm a college student working on a theatre-production-turned-film recorded over Zoom. We're interested in using your footage for our Title scene. Is this something that you'd be okay with? We're streaming for 3 days this weekend and then removing it from the public
Sorry for not responding in time. Hope the activity went well. We wouldn't have been able to give you permission very quickly, as the footage belongs to Nicholas Wegner (a photographer based in Wyoming). We created the music to fit the footage he gave us :)
There's a new 'thing' which you'd most likely hate lol, extreme time stretching. It takes musical pieces and super-wangs them into oblivion. Sometimes it makes interesting listening.
Alpine, WY in the snow is beautiful. Maybe it's just me but I don't care much for Wyoming scenery unless there is snow(Excluding NW WY) but other than NW WY I have never been north of Casper or East of Cheyenne to the NE border.
+Henry Meguess That's an easy one :) We're all convinced other places are more interesting and fail to see what's right outside our own front door. Only when people visit and remind us, do we then realise there's beauty everywhere.
+Mike Williams Hey Mike. Nic Wegner has full details about it on his website which you can find here : www.lightalivephotography.com/wyoming-wildscapes-ii
Beautiful... This is probably a dumb question, but are these time-lapse films made up of thousands of still images? If so, how, when a shooting star flashes across the sky in the blink of an eyelid in real life, does it appear to move in the time-lapse movie? Surely it would only be captured in just one still image, and therefore won't move in the film? The only answer I can think of that makes sense is that you're actually capturing quite a number of images per second, but if that's the case you must need hundreds of thousands of images... Am I missing something?
Hey Tim Pentreath thanks for the question....which isn't so dumb actually :D Yes the video is made up of tens of thousands of still images, maybe Nicolaus Wegner can help with the exact numbers and how he managed to capture those shooting stars....
Meteorites last less than a second usually, but since the exposure is being taken (whether it's a 1 second or 30 second exposure), the meteorite will show up in the photo, but no more than one frame of the time lapse. Same thing with lightning. The idea is no different than taking a single photograph. Same principles apply. If something in this video looks like it's moving across the sky over several frames, it's not a meteorite, but a satellite or airplane. All the really fast flashes of light during the star sequences are most likely meteorites. Time lapse videos like this are made up of thousands of still images, that is correct.
Nicolaus Wegner ghostkollective Thanks for your replies. So the briefest single frame flashes are meteorites, the other ones where you see movement are planes or satellites... Makes perfect sense now - thanks for the obvious explanation! Anyway, it's wonderful work Nicolaus, it must have been quite something to spend so long out in the wilderness.
Tim Pentreath You got it Tim. No problem. Didn't get to spend as much time in the wilderness as I would have liked, hauling all the gear takes a toll on your back. Only about 3 weeks in true wilderness, maybe a week or so in wilderness study areas. Rest of the time was invested in driving to locations and sleeping in the jeep night after night. Storm chasing, national parks, national forests, etc. Fun stuff.
If you enjoy WW2 you might also enjoy our new song Storms, which features storm/lightning footage around these spectacular Wyoming landscapes. th-cam.com/video/mswJuG4L_5o/w-d-xo.html
North America really is my favorite continent landscape wise. And Wyoming is one of my favorites on North America. Majestically beautiful.
We (any of us from GhostK) haven't ever visited this part of North America. Of course, now it seems we're destined to...thanks to Nic ;)
Do you live there?
Wyoming truly is 'Wild and Wonderful'. I used to live there, and this spectacular fusion of audio and visual is amazingly moving.
The photography is stunning, perhaps almost as stunning as the landscapes themselves. The music... there are no words. All I have is tears.

Thanks Carl Garrard if only everyone that's seen it did indeed share it with their close friends we'd quickly have more views than a Bieber tantrum ;)
Absolutely stunning, so beautiful. A work of art altogether, and the music compliments it so well.
Moro SFP, Kiitos! ;)
+ghostkollective Eipä mitään :)
People want to go to Paris to Hawaii give me Wyoming give me Montana any day of the week!!!!
We'll one day get to visit! :)
Damn fucking right apmumbp.
I totally agree!
You are right, i agree. I would like live there. from Madrid, Spain.
@@Ruben-gt5mp it’s awesome to visit but unless your pretty solitary it’s not the best place to live
Being from London Uk, Im tired of the city life and would live to be living in a serene place like this and go back to the basics of living
Not sure Posh would approve. Jump in a 4x4 and drive. There's plenty to see even in the UK. Yorkshire Dales, Peak District, Lakes, Snowdonia, Scottish Highlands, Giant's Causeway, etc.
The best timelapse I have ever seen. The music is great.
This is breathtaking in 1080p.
Fantastic impressions, thank you! Greetings from Germany
I've watched this over 6 times now, and every time I see something new.
Oh my dear Heaven, this is incredibly beautiful
Absolutely FABULOUS job, Nicolaus Wenger/LightAlive Photography and Ghostkollective! The music really hammers it home. Bravo!

Wyoming, God's country for sure. I wish I had been born, raised, schooled, and lived there. So beautiful.
Why I love home, so much. Can't wait to be back!
32 and a wake up!
Wow amazing, incredible, thanks for your hard work.
Thanks for the comment :)
I am so blessed to live here. Beautiful!
This makes me FEEL. My new mantra when I'm stressed will now be "I live here. I live here. I live here".

Fabulous piece of music backed by equally fabulous video work.. Puts me in a good mood for the day.. Thanks guys!
Sublime. I especially loved the lightning storm footage.
Our song Storms features new footage from Nic, specifically stormy lightning footage...it's crazy and beautiful...and scary! :)
Stunning. The music was perfectly timed with the scenes. Your video was inspiring.
Thank you for the kind words, such a beautiful place :)
Amazing work guys :D
What an amazing video of Wyoming. I loved watching all the different landscapes of the state. Thanks for sharing.
These are some beautiful shots. Good luck at the Wyoming Short Film Contest!
Hope everyone hits Nic's vote button! :D He deserves the credit, he's doing a lot to promote Wyoming to new potential visitors around the world.
Yes indeed. Lived here all my life. I'm happy that they are making these efforts.
Amazing work. Thank you for sharing with us all

never felt so proud to live in wyoming ^-^
It's a pretty awesome place to live. Never tire of it, always something new over the next mountain ridge, or down some random country road.

I need to move to Wyoming.
Awesome......subbed your page!
Thanks! :)
What kind of video rig you got for panning video shots? Curious:)
