Vincent Epimetheus, John Renwick's drag racing outfit, contests the Brighton Speed Trials. Winner for the last four years will he do it again for a fifth consecutive win?
Really great stuff. There are actually men on this planet who never experience the joy of playing with an old racing motorcycle. I want to keep my bike, but turn the clock back 40 years. Life is too short.
I would like to point out to you that my bike, the one you described as claptrap, managed two runs that day unlike the Vincent outfit. Could I also point out that Chris Illman does not need to use starters because of his age, his compression ratio is more than double what Douglas intended and rollers are the only way that it will turn over.
The oil spill that is made light of and closed the meeting was in actuality not an oil spill but sidecar rider Roger laying on the track critically injured and his passenger Charlotte dead. You may not have known this at the time but once the news broke the comments should have been edited before posting to TH-cam.
I am downloading several of your clips to make a DVD for my brother. Between him and his friends, they have 5 historic speedway Vincent sidecars - enough to make a race.
Love and envy these guys and this event is amazing. Thanks for posting I hope to get there one day to enjoy the real thing. Anyone know what date it’s on in 2019 thankyou
I was taught to never trust that which you cannot see...i.e electrickery....if it can be done with cams, sprockets, lever and pulleys, then it should be. Oh Christ what the fuck am I talking about? Fuck it.
some lovely machines there, but Roy Robinson's Vincent, is simply spectacular. wow. what a thing of beauty.

Love this guy. Love his attitude, even at his age. Getting at it.

so glad you said that! I was fuming, and I am just a spectator!
This was great seeing these guys loving what they do
Roy Robinson's green machine is one righteous scooter, that's about as beautiful as a motorcycle can get, imho.

I would like to comment about the commentator, but there may be sensitive souls watching. Let us just say he was talking claptrap.
Hello Steve. Not sensitive at all. What did you find or hear that suggested that any of it was claptrap?
