Especially Nanna, whose accent is a mix of her native Icelandic/Scandinavian and Glaswegian (not sure where exactly that comes from, someone told me she lived there for a while)

The early teens were a magical time for music - these guys, Mumford and Sons, Lumineers, Jonah and the Whale, all had a folk sound with occasional brass instruments.

One of the best bands in a very long time, No fluff, No frills, Just pure and true talent, Some musicians have it, most don't.
I cant count how many times ive listen to this recording.

I'm 56. When I was 18, I went off to college and discovered a band called REM. And then a band called U2. Then, a few years ago, I came upon a band called M83. And then I came upon a band called Sigur Ros. And today? A band called Of Monsters and Men. Good day indeed, ya know?

Im stuck in rehab and this 3 track live performance is helping me through it.
In 2014 I traveled to the US with my son-in-law, we drove around the west for 4000km listening to MAM on the car radio. These songs bring back great memories.
Found this video few days ago, but it's on repeat from that day.

This set never gets old. I’m so happy I was able to see OMAM live in concert in 2019 Oakland, CA.
Artists and audience enjoying that magic synergy that can happen when all are having a great time, simply brilliant and it must have been a privelige to be there.
Never seen ‘em live. But I am captivated by this show. Their energy, their expressions…. They look like folk rockers I’d be friends with.

This may be the best performance of Little Talks I've ever seen. It seemed to be one of those rare occasions where a band and their audience really connected. Combined with the obvious good humor and camaraderie of OMAM it made for a kind of performance magic.

I love them. I love their quirkiness, their originality and their raw talent. I can't say exactly why, but they remind of Irish bands. Or Bands from Breton like Manou. Probably because they seem to be so unique. Amazing.

I love this video, it always makes me feel good. The small area makes it feel so intimate and everyone seems to be genuinely enjoying themselves despite the cramped and heated metal box. I wish I was there for this one

My favorite version of "Dirty Paws". Love the trumpet....and the bass adds wonderful substance. Vocals compliment each other with an understated, ethereal beauty, at once soft and powerful.
I love how Nanna and Florence both refer to that place as the hot box hahaha

Sounds so Magnificent! Great Acoustic Vibes! So glad they play live again. We had the honor to play live with them on a small festival at the Stadspodium in Rotterdam 29 august 2010. A long time ago. They were unknown with the big audience then. Yet you could hear it was only a matter of time for they would breakthrough. Still proud to have been together on stage with these wonderful and warm friendly musicians. Hopefully they will visit the Netherlands again.
Such unbelievably unique music. I just love songs that tell stories, that invoke certain images in the mind. Their songs fall into this realm.

I think that if an English band had a go at these songs, they wouldn't sound half as good. That Icelandic tinge just makes it sound so much better

***** Well I believe that it's Nanna's accent that is the reason for her distinctive singing style and, for example, on Mountain Sound the chorus has some wonderful Icelandic flavour that I think really adds to it. But that's just me : )

Completely agree. I think Nanna really does this band justice on many of their songs with the flavor she adds. Her voice, and the bands overall raw sound blends perfectly.
