My granddaughter was watching your video with me & asked if your temperature shawl could be made into a scarf...sure guess it could be, I said to her. Good that's what I want for next Christmas! Didn't see that coming!! Wish me luck, I'll need it.
Hi stitchers! To get the average weekly temperature, check out your local forecast, weather app, outdoor thermometer at your home, etc to get the number for each day that week, then divide by 7 (number of days in the week). That's the number you'll use. Refer to the chart for the correct color and complete your row!
Thank you so much for your easy to follow crochet lessons. I love this idea and I plan to start this today! ! 😄 Love you and thank you for all you do! 💜
I love this idea. I always fancied doing a temperature blanket but haven't got the time commitment to do something on a daily basis - I can manage a row a week! Thank you for the brilliantly clear tutorial too! I've just joined the group on Ravelry so look forward to seeing everyones growing shawl. I'm now off to have a look at my stash to see what yarn I can use!! :D
I am already doing a c2c temperature blanket, which is a row a day...but I really like the idea of this shawl. .. soooo, I will be doing this as well 😆. I really love this pattern. 💕 it's very pretty! BTW, great tutorial.
Awesome! I am thinking of making this a throw, by doing 2 rows a week. One for average high of the week and a row for the average low for the week. I'll have to see what that works out or if it would be to big. 😳
Ok, I have a question, I'm thinking about trying the temperature shawl and blanket. My question is, could I put the blanket into a continuation granny square ? Don't make individual squares just keep the flow going when I change my colors
Is there a final tutorial for this temperature shall? I would like to know how you ended it...like did you put a border, etc. I've looked and looked, but the most recent update I can find is the fall update...no "end of the year" update.
This is perfect. Not to big not stress full and colors will go with any outfit. Thank you Jennifer Be funny if you change colors 7 times in the row for each day . Nope to stressed. Joke. Live your channel. I am a shaw wrapp kinda gal.
I love this! can't wait to get started! does anyone have a suggestion for substituting the cherry red? I absolutely despise the color, so I need an alternative. the color red and I go way back. .....not favorable! !! lol
I actually went thru the newspaper list of lows & highs for the week, added all together then divided by 14 (2 temps for the day low & high) to get my average. maybe I'm being too much of a nerd. :) I'm writing down the average for each week until I can pick up the yarn to get started & will then play catch up.
I was thinking, maybe a granny square? Same concept, a color a week, but in granny squares. Each square equals each month, then all squares attached to make an afghan. ?????
Hi there! You could always break it down more...for example, instead of doing 10 degree increments you could go 5 degree? Like 0-5, 6-10, etc. That way you could have more colors.
I'm starting this tonight. It's so pretty. Your instructions are very easy to follow on all your tutorials. Thank you!!

Just saw this and I am going to attempt. I am a beginner but I think I can do this. Easy to follow your videos.

Grayson's Mom How about an orange color?
Ellen Wartenbee use a harvest or Autumn red. Unless you don't like red at all.
Deep wine color...
+Ellen Wartenbee excellent idea! I really do like orange! thank you
+Frances Martinez also great ideas! I hadn't thought of a wine color, which is very pretty. thank you!
That is a great idea! Still looks nice and warm!
how long is the finished shawl?

Awesome idea.
Could you make a bag, Beach bag or shopping bag tutorial out of your stach?
I'm checking up but how will u get the average for the whole week 7 days?
I just looked up the temperatures for my area for each day, added them up for the week and divided by 7 to get the average.
paperinkspirations thank you because here where I’m at I have 55 beginning of week and then 16 by Saturday ok thank u
Yes!! I just added that info to the blog post as well.
Weather Underground will also give you an average temperature in your area.

Just so you know, Herrschners is currently running a sale on Red Heart Super Saver only $2.99 a skein.

Lupe Alvarado that would make a beautiful blanket! A great holiday gift for someone :) Great idea!
Lupe Alvarado you definitely can do that! I did a similar thing but with a little square each day. So worth it!
I’m going to copy your colors. Where I live,I would not have more than three to four colors

Ok. I see thank you
how can i make it bigger?
Hi there! Check out the multiples if you want to make it wider. If you want to be bigger overall, try using a thicker yarn and hook.
Nice!
If you did one row per day it could be a temperature blaket.
I need a pattern for mans Dickie
