Recently I used Gaossmon as the Rookie for Deltamon, who then digivolved further into Orochimon, before finally reaching Ebonwumon for a project recently and I do think it's a perfect kind of middle ground of not sticking to one theme too tightly, but remaining smooth and consistent.
A cool idea for a video could be Digimon without partners full lines, like Elecmon, Wizardmon, or Pixiemon from Digimon Adventure, and what their full lines would be like. For example, I think it'd be cool if Elecmon eventually became Pandamon to be a guardian of Primary Village, while looking cute to not scare the babies
@@Karn_EX I can already think of a Wizardmon one. Wizardmon -> Wisemon -> Barbamon Wizardmon and Wisemon already seems obvious as they are already meant to digivolve into one another, but Barbamon could act as the Mega as it is a transition from a Demon Man digimon into a Demon Lord.
When the anime first came out in the states , I used to think that Gatomon was a powerful rookie digimon that could evolved into Leomon . You know the whole feline -cat -lion theory
I didn't know Manticoremon existed before this video. While it's got more similarities with Gargoylemon, I also get some Unimon vibes from it. It has the the tattered white wings, armored headpiece, and basis in a mythical composite animal in common with him. It would also look like a good dark digivolution counterpart to Hippogriffmon in Unimon's line. I really wish Kokatorimon and Akatorimon would get some love. There are so many real life flightless birds that could be mixed in with the mythical elements from the cockatrice and basilisk that you could make a really interesting dedicated line but they just go nowhere.
You probably didn't know about him because, while he has existed since 2020(according to the wiki) he was only used pretty recently in an Episode of Ghost Game. Digimon has this annoying habit of creating digimon just for the heck of it but never actively using a lot of them.
Seriously agree with Kokatorimon and Akatorimon. Like, they don't even really resemble the mythological Cockatrice, so an evolution for at least one of them that more so is based on that, rather than just a chicken, would be really cool, or maybe something more Gorgon-based to lean into the snake-aspect of the Cockatrice instead. Luckily, I feel the chances aren't even that bad, considering we recently got what seems to be a new "canon" evolution for Dokugumon (and possibly Minotaurmon) in Gyukimon, and a possible new inbetween stage for Myushamon and Zanbamon with Oboromon. And of course, just recently appearently a Mega for Monzaemon, so they definitely seem to be focusing on extending evolution-lines for OG-Digimon.
You know, speaking of SkullMeramon, it always seemed very weird to me that the Mera-species always stopped at Ultimate and having to branch off into other lines instead of having a through-line. Wonder if there's enough Digimon for a "Species that stop at Ultimate" or something.
Digivolution is so free and yet the ones that just make the most sense don't happen which just blows my mind! Hopefully in the next story game we see a lot of these happen

Thanks for including my Deathmeramon-Shroudmon one (& nice that my Hawkmon/Aquilamon - Garudamon one snuck into the screencap!). I actually have a full evo animationfor it in mind too: The flames around his body would be get sucked in, causing him to heat up and turn red. His hair would explode into flames and his eyes would start to glow from within, then you'd see his lower metal jaw pop off from the heat and his upper mask would transform. Then the focus shifts to his chest, and he yanks the now molten chains around his torso off (showing shroudmon's "bolt" sign on his chest) and then clanks his fists together which transforms molten metal covering them into the gauntlets as sparks go everywhere! ...Anyways, for ideas for a third video, here's a few (actually, a lot, haha) more, too: - The aformentioned, sorta snuck-in-but-not-disscussed fact that Garudamon fits Hawkmon line more then Biyomon: Not only does it visually match Hawkmon and Aquilamon, but it also sorta mirrors Slyphymon as an alternate bird-man perfect/uiltimate stage. - Reppamon evolving into Kyukimon: Both are based on small mammalian Japanese yokai with associated with blades and knives, and both have a sort of cool, subdued color scheme. Technically, this HAS been featured in some of the games, but only like twice and requiring a jogress for one of them. - Sorcerimon into Panjyamon X: Sorcerimon's snowflake shaped staff turns into Panjyamon X's snowflake battle axe. You could then have it evolve from SnowGoburimon (where his club becomes the staff) and into Hexabluemon (where it becomes his various ice weapons). - A few things with Rebellimon: It already evolves from Ogremon, but Ogremon X actualy fits as a prevo even better, and as evolutions, I think it fits Boltmon even better then evolving into Titamon does: Boltmon still has the green, muscle man look, but continues to have machinery like Rebellimon does (vs Titamon losing any cyborg elements). I also quite like Breakdramon as a Rebellimon evolution: Wheras Titamon sorta reverts Rebellimon back into being organic, Boltmon continues to be a mix, Breakdramon sorta works as an evolution where he mechanizes even further: Something about Breakdramon I think more then other machine Digimon evokes Rebellimon/Ogremon to me, I think because of the green color, and the fact that Breakdramon is construction equipment which fits the urban/punk theme of Rebellimon, etc. You still see bits of organic matter around his eyes, too. - Boogiemon and Phelesmon becoming Barbamon: It retaines a Red, Black, Purple, and Gold color scheme, all are demons, and Phelesmon grants people's wishes for wealth and fortune, while Babramon is greedy. - For Gaioumon, Kotemomn and Dinohumon (Yakasamon works even better due to the skin color and asian theme, and has only evolved freom Kotemon in the TCG I thnk, so that too!) make perfect sense as child/rookie and adult/champion stages, as humanoid lizard swordsmen. Sadly., the perfect/ultimate stage options are less ideal, but Hisyaryumon sorta works as as a black and red (like Gaioumon) Japanese dragon that TRANSFORMS into a sword (though the TCG and some of the games do this a lot), and I actually think Master Tyrannomon does too, as a black and red dinosaur that is experienced and has become a combat master (which AFAIK, the evo connection has never been done before) - NeoDevimon evolving into the "core" Quartzmon: They both have multi-eyed golden masks and sickly grey bodies. Neodevimon being an experiment in the original manga it's from works too. - Missimon to kokukuwagamon, as the former looks like a robotic insect - Harpymon to Shutumon, as humanoid bird people with a sort of white/lavender ish color scheme. I guess Silphymon too? - Gummdramon and Arrestdramon evolving into Cyberdramon: All are blueish humanoid dragons, and the former are stretchy and flexiable, while Cyberramon has "rubber armor" according to it's reference book entry. As far other ideas in the video, I actually really love the Kirinmon to Goddramon/Goldramon evolution here, it visually fits a ton and I'd never considered it, and while I had considered Kokatorimon to Vulturemon, the whole turning things to stone > sand connection I never put together.
Also, since Mitamamon came up as a Kirimon evolution, it actually works as a Kyukimon one for my Reppamon > Kyukimon suggestion there: It's likewise based on a a small Mammalian Yokai, though not one with blades.
If the anime is anything to go by, Rebellimon will probably never canonically evolve into Boltmon, that would contradict the outcome of their fight in Adventure 2020.
Since we're on the topic of Baluchimon and Manticoremon, I'm pretty sure Oboromon was designed as the middle step between Musyamon and Zanbamon. Not only is it another demonic swordman, but it also has Zanbamon's horse head in place of its left arm. It doesn't really belong in a video like this since this is an entirely posible line since its debut on the Ryudamon DiM Card, but I just thought I'd point out how much I love seeing classic Digimon get evolutions. It's a great addition to a fan-favorite evolution line for Kotemon since that spot has often been taken by the swordless Asuramon. On a different note, while Bokomon can evolve into Nanimon I think the latter should be able to evolve into Orochimon and then into Bacchusmon for a full line of an old man that gets progresively drunker.
I was thinking about how about one where it's Guilmon( yellow), Growlmom( Yellow), WarGrowlmon( Yellow), And for the Mega Zeke Greymon I know Zeke Greymon generally Evolves from a metal Greymon who seeks victory and it is more gun based like Blitz Greymon BUT I feel like it's gold armor really gos really well with the Yellow Guilmon line
I like Spinomon for Growlmon and WarGrowlmon Yellow. Similar colours and the big sword arma become giant knives on his back. But Zekegreymon is cool and needs more love

Absolutely in love with the idea of pegasusmon to chirinmon to godramon. I feel like a lot of digimon have a very missed opportunity to have two separate evolution lines, beast and humanoid lines. Patamon is a great example of this, as angemon, magnangemon, and seraphimon all connect very well, but magnangemon to godramon doesn't work super well. The same works with gatomon, as angewomon doesn't connect very well with magnadramon, but it does connect well with ophanimon. I see the same thing with gomamon, ikkakumon, zudomon, vikemon, and plesiomon, where there could very easily be a beast and human dedicated line of evolution
I'm glad you liked the Otamamon -> Thunderballmon idea! I really love the Mamemon family but no preevolution for Thunderballmon has ever felt right until I saw Otamamon one day and went "wait a second". It was actually somebody else who told me about the connection of Otamamon X to PrinceMamemon X and that just cemented it for me. Now, Otamamon -> Thunderballmon is my preferred Digimon partner. I am dying to one day see it be canon!
Great video once again! I'm honestly a bit hestitant on Gazimon to Dorulumon, on one hand because they don't match colorwise at all, on the other because Gazimon appears more like a cat to me, unlike the wolf that Dorulumon is, but ultimately, it's Digimon, it'd be far from the weirdest thing happening, and seeing how we're primarily talking about "options" here, not "intended evolutions", why not. PawnChessmon Black also makes a lot of sense for SkullKnightmon considering how XrosWars ties PawnChessmon White to Knightmon, with it feeling like a very fitting Rookie for Gladimon, which I'm suprised hasn't happened yet despite Knightmon coming from KnightChessmon before. Parrotmon into Ceresmon is another one I'm somewhat split on, visually, it fits very well, but the mythology-nerd in me says that to digivolve into Ceresmon, the goddess of nature, plants and fertility, you'd need a tie to, well, nature and plants, but on the other hand, the only bird/plant Digimon is Delumon (unless they eventually give us an even more plant-focused bird-line based on how Piyomon digivolves from Yokomon, a plant). Otamamon into Thunderballmon is actuall Galaxy Brain, that connection is perfect. Also kinda fits since the "tama" in "Otama" could maybe be read as "ball", same as "Thunderball", so the lore just thickens more and more. BlitzGreymon from MetalGrowlmon would fit pretty well visually, and I certainly wouldn't complain about a more direct link between the Greymon- and Growlmon-family (if you could Growlmons even a "family"), seeing how at least according to Tamers' lore, Guilmon is probably primarily based on Agumon, so the Growlmon-family should probably be at the very least close relatives if not a branch of the Greymon-family... at least according to that canon, there are canons where Guilmon wasn't created by Takato and just came to be naturally after all. To bring up one of my own, with how much they leaned into the snake-motif for Minervamon, I'm suprised that it has never evolved from Sandiramon or Orochimon, Hisaryumon being the only snake-like Digimon it has digivolved from in the past, and that probably primarily because of the sword-motif. Sirenmon is similarly puzzling, as it can probably be seen as the "main pre-stage" for the female Olympus Twelve sans Dianamon, due to the tie through Greek myth I assume, but the only ones we've actually seen it digivolve into are Junomon and Ceresmon appearently, yet the one it makes the most sense for is probably Venusmon imo, visually, with Venusmons more feather-y aspects, but also thematically, Siren being often associated with water, luring people in with song, Venus being born from the water, goddess of love in all forms and thus generally considered alluring.
Per usual, great video, Karn EX!. Certainly odd the absence of a lot of these Digimon from the digivolution lines you'd mentioned despite the blatant similarities between such. Honestly, I hadn't even thought of the Blitzmon and Wargrowlmon line integration, though yeah, looking back, it's quite odd that they of all can't serve as digivolution line potential.

It’s cool to see another one of these videos! I know personally I prefer the evolution lines that were brought up of Risegreymon to BlitzGreymon and Rapidmon to Fujimon. Excited to see what other fun lines we could see in this video!
It’s not exactly a ‘belongs’ in another Digivolution line, but ever since I discovered BlackGargomon, I really liked the idea of it going into Cerberumon, especially Cerberumon Werewolf Mode. Great video, I love to see these, always fun to think of what Digimon could work in other lines.
I love these speculation videos. Call me a purist or elitist or whatever, but there is something satisfying when there's a directly clear and immediately understood Digivolution line.
Absolutely amazing video and picks from the community, astounding job. I can't even tell my favorite, they're all great. If you do another video like this, something that came to my mind recently, would be WarGrowlmon that could digivolve into Gaiomon, turning full ground-combat and clore ranged oriented, as opposed to BlitzGreymon with its canons: - They are both virus types. - WarGrowlmon belongs to 4 fields, but 2 of them are Dragon's Roar and Nature Spirits, the two fields in which Gaiomon belongs to. - Just like you mentionned for BlitzGreymon, the little hair coming of the back of the head could become much longer and sharper on Gaiomon. - The two giants blades on its arms would turrn into the two giant swords that Gaiomon owns. - Gaiomon is a Greymon-subspecies, but the Guilmon line is heavily inspired (even in the anime) by the Agumon line. - Finally, it is said in the reference book for WarGrowlmon that the metallic bit attached to its mouth is a "restraining tool to prevent it to run wild due to excess power", so if it broke, its likely that it would start fighting anything and anyone, and Gaiomon is known for its great power and victory record, as it is said, "it has been confirmed that it possesses an unbelievable combat record from its countless battles."
I must say Skullmeramon to Shroudmon seems more then legit. Pegasusmon becoming Chirinmon and then Mitamamon who is a great mega for Chirimon would also make sense. And the features from Gargoylemon to Manticoremon i can see pretty Well. Gazimon is also not bad but i wish for him to get more love not that he is always a bad guy and that he gets a proper digivolution line. Thinking about a Digimon fitting into a other line got me thinking maybe when Devidramon would be a Ultra Level he could fit better into the Eyesmon digivolution line instead of Orochimon who is a not bad Pick. But because Devidramon has Red eyes and is a dragon he fits there in as well or give him a entire line.
I never thought of Otamamon to Thunderballmon before. That's really neat! An evolution I'm surprised never really became to be was Dorumon (surprising I think of that, I know) to Youkomon. Both are purple and white foxes as well as data types. Okay the reference book says Youkomon is blue, but when I color drop its art and models it's purple- I just consider it a route of Dorumon that leans more into its beast side than dragon. Plus it's Dorumon's more bite things nature becoming the more destructive nature of Youkomon

Even though we don’t have the mega for the main trio yet, my head cannon for now that canoweissmon can digivolve into examon. Mostly because of there similarities (wings,head,etc) and I feel like canoweissmon would digivolve into something worthy of a royal knight,mainly for the finale of ghost game.
It would be with this sort of theme with parter digimon,evolving into a royal knight. i always liked the idea of blackwargrowlmon to gaioumon, with it's arm blades becoming his dual swords, plus htey're both black, virus-attribute dragon-men! my imagined partner line is also gazimon to madleomon (both evil aligned or just mean, purple beast digimon) into kaimeramon (madlemon's undead nature kind of fitting with the frankenstein/chimera sort of thing) but i never thought of a good canon digimon for this line's mega and just made up my own alternate kaimeramon evo
A bit messy, but I've always liked the line of gaossmon-> (greymon 2010)-> (og) metalgreymon virus-> blitzgreymon you kinda get a blue lizard that gets more mechanical. Another line I've always liked has been kotemon-> musyamon-> asuramon-> tactimon it's like a story of a little guy that trained, became a warrior, then became a tactitian after all that experience (nice line of demon man digimon lol) Lastly, fantastic video as always and hope to see more!
Nice video! Might as well put in another Idea. I dont know if this has been covered already, but: Mastemon as a lightside evo of Lucemon FM. Not only does it work well as a straight up evolution from ultimate to mega, the design of a fusion of light and dark works so well. Not only that, but its special attacks mirror each other too, both combining the two into balls of energy. Fun fact: In digimon dawn and dusk, you can fuse angemon and devimon to lucemon FM, yet another connection. I know, its kinda obvious, but still weird it has never happened outside the cardgame
Okay this might be a pair of odd ones but hear me out, both involve Mermaimon. To me I think it is crazy that Mermaimon has never digivolved from Ranamon, who is the descendant of AncientMermaimon and is often used as a champion. They both even have fins for ears in the exact same place. I feel Mermaimon would work as an alternate ultimate for AncientMermaimon's normal line of Ranamon - Calmaramon - AncientMermaimon. To me anyway Mermaimon looks more like a bridge between Ranamon and AncientMermaimon then Calmaramon. Another champion I feel would work for Mermaimon is strangely enough Witchmon. Witchmon in the reference book is said to have mastered sorcery over water magic. Both Witchmon and Mermaimon are female presenting digimon with blonde hair, covered in red and black clothing, and use a yellow/golden weapon to fly or float (Witchmon's broom vs Mermaimon's anchor.) Another thing the two have in common is they where both ideas submitted by fans. That one isn't as important as their other similarities for a digivolution line, but it is still true!
This video gets an instant like from me just for that Big Bad Beetleborgs reference. Also I can’t think of any new suggestions right now so I’m just going to post what I suggest last time. *I think Goldramon(Goddramon) could work as the mega to Shakkoumon. Goldramon already looks more like a proper dna evolution of Angemon and Ankylomon, a yellow and white holy dragon/dinosaur mix and I think the x-antibody version has some armor too, but I also think Shakkoumon being a Shinto idol possibly related to gods becoming a full on God creature makes sense for its line thematically. And Shakkoumon was the biggest of the 02 dna ultimates so it having an even bigger Giant God Dragon for its mega like in Adventure 2020 would be cool too I think*
So many cool Digimon I never heard about... Also, on the subject of Blitzgreymon being a versatile mega, I think it would work well for RedVeedramon as well. Tho it would need an ultimate to fill in the gap there, I can't think of any unique one right now.
For my personal "Why aren't these Digimon linked" conundrum, I feel like Crusadermon/LordKnightmon should evolve from Lilymon. Crusadermon has pink armor and ribbons, and it's X-antibody form has a strong rose motif. Lilymon can evolve into Rosemon. Crusadermon could be the more "masculine" evolution of Lilymon. Edit: Speaking of Gazimon, someone on the Digimon Reddit has MadLeomon as an evolution of Gazimon, and it works so well, imo. The skin/hair color and the long arms are a match, and the belts on the tail just move all over the body for MadLeomon.
You know BlitzGreymon does sound like a better fit for RizeGreymon. Same with all of the other picks as they don't mess up the evo chain, they actually fit pretty well and the small info pieced together is soild. Like damn, now I would like these to be actual evolutions in a game but in any case, another fun evolution video Karn!
Yes! This is what I'm talking about. I wish Bandai would explore and flesh out the original lore of digimon and build on them precisely with examples like these. They're just walking proof at this point waiting to be legitimised. Giving us new digimon on the reg is cool but then it becomes quantity over quality with a bland coverage over each digimon and lore.
I love these videos. Always so late to comment. Since Dim cards came out and random new Digimon. One great one I like for filling in Kokatorimon, normally tied to Penmon/Penguinmon is Tempomon. It's also a Data Digimon. It's still has the bird aspect and hint hint a Penguin Bird-Man. I like also tossing FrosVelgrmon to top it off. While it's a Virus type, when you think about it. Gives off the right vibe for the line. Trust me I know their is so many Digimon just feel like they belong with other Digimon. I always used to toss Mihiramon on Mikemon, thanks to the new cards I was right. Although Duftmon being their was like a duh moment for me. I used DinoTigermon. I love making Digimon trees for fun past time thing. I could give you so many. Like ShimaUnimon to Indramon. Like I get Unimon and all. But I feel like ShimaUnimon is so under rated for a recolor. Doesn't even have a card. Most games it's just a line for Mammothmon. Well DW2. I hope to see more of these videos in the future.
Wow, really glad that my suggestion got in! Another evolution line I can see being possible is Spadamon -> Togemogumon -> Panjyamon -> either Dinotigermon or Regulumon. Perhaps even a story could be made for a Spadamon to have been a disciple of a Leomon that got killed (like usual), and once getting strong enough his Ultimate form would reflect his past teacher by becoming an even better version of Leomon.
OK, this is going to sound weird, but I think a good way to give Shoutmon a non-digixros mega would be to have OmniShoutmon digivolve into Omnimon Alter-S. Hear me out. So the Shoutmon line's whole thing is it being the only other Digimon who can wield the Omega InForce, to the point that OmniShoutmon can summon an Omnimon spirit for one of it's attacks, so it hypercharging the InForce to grow more powerful and taking on a more Omnimon-like form makes a lot of sense. The red of the Blitz arm matches up with Shoutmon and King Shoutmon, while the gold on the Cres arm and the silver of the main body matches OmniShoutmon. And, while the 'Alter-S' officially stands for Alter - Silver, it could just as easily stand for Alter - Shout. Not saying this should replace the jogress by any means, I just think it's a neat alternative.
I love a lot of these picks! The fluidity of digivolution will always be one of my favorite parts of the franchise, because like you said in the video it creates a nice community discussion. I wish Swimmon had something more fitting. Tylomon and the newer Tobiumon are the best it's got really. BUT the two new digimon from New Century(haven't seen much about them in a while), Xiquemon and its evolved form work really well actually!
This video was better than the last, I agree on most of these. My personal picks are Falcomon-Petermon-Parrotmon-Eaglemon(suggested by Digimon Shinka), Mushroommon-Arbormon/Petaldramon-Zambamon-Ancient Troiamon, Jaeger Dorulumon becomes Cres Garurumon, Ghostmon-Troopmon-Jokermon-Tactimon, and Dorbickmon is a dark mega for Gammamon. Also, I would love a recolor of Raguelmon to be the mega for Manticoremon. Also if Bandai did a Fire Emblem three houses Digimon Game, I think Kotemon should be the rookie with the following lines: (Skull Knightmon-Dark Knightmon-Craniamon), (Dinohumon-Knightmon-Crusadermon), (Gladimon-Panjyamon-Leopardmon), and the DLC (Musyamon-Oboromon-Zambamon). Maybe the X-antibody forms for the final battle per route.
I would love to see what people think would be good evolutions for burgermon. My boy is so sweet and good, he deserves some love. I was thinking digimon related to armadillomon, because they have those same fluffs on the side of thier heads, but looking at gargoylemon, its not too far of a stretch to slide him in there. I would love to see some more ideas related to burgermon.
I always thought that Chaosdramon looks like a jogress evolution between Machinedramon and Blitzgreymon. The armor of Blitzgreymon surrounds Machinedramon leading to Chaosdramon. Furthermore, the lightning aspect of Chaosdramon will then have come directly from Blitzgreymon.
My go-to for Skull Knightmon is Kotemon because of the glowing yellow eyes and the horns. I also use Asuramon to Shroudmon since both are based on asuras.
I 100% agree that this community and your vids are so cool! If only I knew enough to contribute to an idea 😆 I'll just benefit from everyone else's ideas
Always love these evo line videos! Personally think Revolvmon into Astamon and then into Magnakidmon should be a thing, with them all being heavily gun and outlaw focused as well as having similar scarves (from Revolv's torn bandana to Asta's long scarf of the same color, leading into Magnakid's wing scarf of a similar length and style)
10:47 It can turn things to stone because it's a Cockatrice, which is basically "Rooster/Chicken with weird bits added", most commonly a serpent tail, but as with many mythical creatures, depictions vary.
One digimon that would be great if it could evolve to Cres Garurumon outside of the card game rules is Grademon. Ironicaly, it can digivolve to Blitzgreymon just fine. My ideal line would be: Dorumon (Beast) -> Siesamon X-Antibody (Holy Beast) -> Grademon (Warrior) -> Cres Garurumon (Beast Knight) Gold and Beast motiff all around!
I alway see people talking about how bearmon doesn’t have a dedicated evolution line after grizzlymon, but I think that if u do bearmon to grizzlymon to korikakumon to Vikemon It makes a lot of sense. Grizzlymon looks a lot like korikakumon, the three claws, the symbol in the forehead, the shoulder pads, etc. Then korikakumon to vikemon also makes a lot of sense since their design is very similar, with the axes becoming the weapons in vikemons back.
Blitzgreymon from Wargrowlmon fits a certain evolutionary narrative too. It's a fairly comfortable progression of the sometimes aggressive Guilmon line from physical battling in Growlmon, into the more ranged gun based combat of Blitzgreymon. Wargrowlmon might have the blades, rather than guns on his arms, but he still fights by energizing them, much like Blitzgreymon does, AND his chest army has electrical blasting capabilities, much like Blitz's overall offensive kit.
The line of Gabumon>Namekemon>Monzaemon has been kicking around in my head for a while now. Gabumon's pelt kinda of takes over, turning it into a puppet with a similar color scheme (to it's skin tone, not the pelt). Then, Monzaemon continues the color trend of yellow, and I think it makes sense to go straight for ShinMonzaemon for the mega.
A mon that I would love to see in a evolution line is my favorite Digimon Mail Birdramon (I personally think shouldn't be a Birdramon and have just been Maildramon) who I think could work as a branch evolution for Sealsdramon so that way you have Tankdramon for Land and then Mail Birdramon for Air

How do you think of Pegasusmon and Nefertimon being natural Champions for Patamon and Gatomon (with Gatomon being nerfed to Rookie, and Salamon getting her own line)? Then Angemon and Angewomon just being those Ultimates. Patamon - Pegausmon - Angemon - Seraphimon Gatomon - Nefertimon - Angewomon - Ophanimon

@@serafin_795 Yeah, it's a bummer, but we can all have our own headcanons right lol? Visually and thematically, it makes sense. Gatomon is mostly treated as a rookie aside from her first fight in Adventure 1. I think between Adventure 1,2, and Tri, Salamon has less than 10 minutes of screentime sadly. (Might not be that bad, but she may as well be in another line).
I wouldn't be surprised if the reason Skullmeramon is Data instead of Virus is due to Ghost Rider, there's definitely a visual similarity between Ghost Rider and Skullmeramon but Ghost Rider is more of an anti-hero than an actual villain, basically like how Skullmeramon is more 'ow the edge" rather than evil.
Cool connection idea's, I like the Kokuwamon, Gazimon, & Wargrowlmon too Ballistamon, Dorulumon, and Blitzgreymon possible evolutions, How a Lilymon or Lilamon connection with Crusadermon, Angoramon/Lamortmon too Monzaemon/Shin Monzaemon, and Canoweissmon too Examon, Examon X, Jesmon, or Jesmon GX.
Although I still love the idea of Examon being an alternate final evolution of Guilmon, with Gallant and Exa both being Royal Knights and also having the similarities of carrying lances, (or as someone else had pointed out, Gallantmon and Megidramon jogressing into Examon), I can’t lie WarGrowlmon into BlitzGreymon looks like such an awesome idea that it’s honestly made me like BlitzGreymon more lol

Here's an idea for a digivolution line I've had for a few years, as a way to give Maki Himekawa's Tapirmon from Tri a full evolution line to compensate for how Tapirmon never became a Sovereign. Tapirmon, then Baluchimon, then Megadramon, and then Alphamon. The use of Alphamon is mostly a reference to his appearance in Tri, while Baluchimon was used because it's a popular champion for Tapirmon nowadays. A headcanon that I usually add to that is there being a sixth original digidestined, who had a partner Dracomon, who could become Huanglongmon by fusing with the four Sovereigns, and then Alphamon could ride on top of Huanglongmon in a similar way to SkullKnightmon and Axemon, and Alphamon would also become Alphamon Ouryuken for even more power.
One line that I like that may not hit for everyone is Meramon to Skullmeramon to Gankoomon/Gankoomon X. I think it's been done in a few games and maybe one of the card games, but never like an official line where they didn't have an equal chance of becoming something else, but it may not count. The connection mostly goes from Skullmeramon to Gankoomon where they have a similar build down to their massive hands which are pulsing with flaming energy and when you factor in the X-Antibody form, they both are shirtless and covered in flames with spiked up hair. Plus both have a silver mask, with Gankoomon's covering less of its face, so you could view it as either the line becoming more humanoid overtime or view it as opening up more of itself as it becomes a Royal Knight. It also works thematically since both Skullmeramon and Gankoomon have a delinquent theme, with Skullmeramon having the chains and flames of a death metalhead and Gankoomon being based off of Banchos, which are the leaders of Japanese deliquent gangs. So you could view it as it keeping its deliquent past, but redirecting it to be more productive and acting more as a leader allowing it to rise to the ranks of the Royal Knights and going from a nightmare solider to a Virus Buster. And the fact they they're all data attribute doesn't hurt either. And looking at other official lines, on Impmon's D-Ark for Tamers, Meramon and Skullmeramon are his champion an ultimate, and since Beelzemon had that same biker/delinquent feel we've been looking at, you could see it's Mega evolution as a turning point where it can either turn further away from other digimon and fall to become a demon lord, or rise to become a leader in its own way and become a Royal Knight, kind of like how Great Angels like Serphimon and Ophanimon have Demon Lord equivalents in Daemon and Lillithmon.
You should make a list of Digimon that look like they belong in other series. (Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokémon, Kirby, etc) Also they should come up with a Digimon based on Burger King.
With Pegasusmon, do armor digimon get to evolve further? I always got the impression, right or wrongly, that it was a side evo that got a rookie to near champion but no further. Ulitmate armor evolutions would be awesome.
Probably a hot take, but I can see Dynasmon being a mega in (Veemon - ExVeemon - ? - Dynasmon). Unfortunately aside from using AeroVeedramon I can't quite think of an appropriate Ultimate to fit in there.
Wingdramon could be solid candidate for that role: It has both blue skin and wings (like Dynasmon) and XV-mon can digivolve into it. V-mon -> XV-mon -> Wingdramon -> Dynasmon
love this video and it kinda brought to mind something it's a little wierd to me that seemingly nothing digivolves to ZeedGaururmon when it seem so obvious it should be the mega of psychmon.
If I could make a suggestion for the next similar video: Yokomon->Rabbitmon looks very right. They have the same exact eyes and similar color schemes all the way down to Rabbitmon having a blue handkerchief tied around it's neck that matches Yokomon's flower petals. Yokomon->Rabbitmon->Lekismon->Crescemon as a possible path, with the blue seeming to get dimmer until it turns gray on Crescemon.
I don’t know if this has been used in anything official before but that one satyr half goat one turning into its yellow/holy ultimate and then into lucemon x antibody looks very through especially with the red ring and yellow horn thing
Here is a stupid but fun idea, what if beastmon could become ancient sphinx mon. I get going from a human female catgirl to a quadraped bringer of darkness is weird, but so is digimon. For actual reasons, beastmon is virus nightmare soldier digimon with Egypt theams just like ancient sphinx mon, and even though she is lazy and a bit of a dits, she is technically a vampire like digimon and can be very dark and scary when she needs to be. So it might be dumb, but I like it
One Digimon that has bothered me for w ahile is Sangloupmon in the Dracmon line. I absolutely LOVE his design but he is just completely out of place as a connection between Dracmon and Matadormon. Sure there are some smaller details that follow through this line but this badass wolf in this demon man line feels weird. He would actually fit pretty well as another option for Gazimon i'd say(i know he is an option for him but not is "mainline" evolution) They are both these grey Dog-like Virus types
Sangloupmon in the demon man/vampire-line is more so for vampire-lore reasons, from what I recall, as I'm pretty sure at least early vampires could turn into wolves, additionally to bats and other animals. Dracmon of course being based on Dracula, at least in terms of name, it continueing that way into a wolf makes sense, then it also continues into Vamdemon sometimes.

I do wish we'd get more BlitzGreymon love. Absolutely LOVE his design, he's a refreshing change of pace from most WarGreymon stuff, and he's a Cyborg. He's a Mega I always rock in my main Red/Black deck and I would love to see him get some support in the card game beyond the starter deck and his first release.
I disagree with several of these, but it's always fun to discuss what connections people make since some of them are really cool and are things you wouldn't think of. Addressing three of the ones brought up in this video: I've pretty much always seen the line as Floramon - Kiwimon - Deramon - Ceresmon due to the plant-bird connection throughout. Give Deramon the flight capacity it dreams of! Floramon's petal mask goes into the more ancient Kiwimon's mask/beak, then you get Deramon branching out (pun intended) to bring the plants more strongly into the design again and also having a crown but still being unable to fly and then eventually becoming Ceresmon, upgrading from royalty to a deity Digimon that is a giant forest bird that can somehow fly. Still not sure if I prefer Yokomon or Tanemon as the In-Training for Floramon, Yokomon would explain the bird theming while still being a plant-leaning line, whereas Tanemon would explain Ceresmon Medium because of Rosemon being the typical Tanemon Mega. After discovering Vulturemon exists, I've immediately kicked Karatenmon out of its position as ultimate version of Saberdramon, as Vulturemon is just a really blatant virus line version of Garudamon. Look at them side by side and you'll see all of the proportions line up along with many key details. Which would mean that Vulturemon already has a mega with Ornismon. Meanwhile Karatenmon goes back to fighting Crowmon for the position as a Ravemon line ultimate. And finally, as I have mentioned briefly elsewhere, I really like the idea of Shamanmon - Fugamon - Asuramon - Shroudmon. The Goblimon/Ogremon side lines have been sorely neglected, and with Shroudmon looking so much like a red, fiery alternate version of Titamon, it works so nicely to give at least one of the side lines a full line. Still waiting on SnowGoblimon and Hyogamon to get a giant blue icy Oni mega and hopefully an ultimate that can bridge the gap as well.
A jogress of all four supposedly kunemon evos ie butterflymon, honeybeemon, mothmon and stingmon with flybeemon to become some ancient armpured waspmon or something.
I was working in a Gankoomon evo line that made somewhat sense and the fact Gokyumon doesn’t evolve into him. Gankoomon has that Sage like quality, like a kung fu master reaching his full potential. Then the whole evolution of monkey to human, its so good imo
My favourite evolution thing is that Nyaromon looks exactly like a Tiger Deva (forget its name) baby but as far as I know its never said anywhere. Both have very similar tail patterns and colours. And Koemon Mojyamon look like lower forms for Mojyamon. Mutant Sakuyamon which was only in Links I think looks like it was made for silver Kyuubimon and silver Taomon.
One possible evolution line I realised that could work is Gammamon > Betel Gammamon > Canoweissmon > Shine Greymon Relating to the reference book listing, Betel Gammamon and Canoweissmon gain their burning red and pure white from their burning hearts, adding on the Gammamon evolutions being named after constellations and Betel Gammamon's attacks using the word "Sol", being Latin for Sun Now looking at Shine Greymon's reference book listing, it out right states it fights with red hot solar energy, giving off a theme of a star that burns ever brighter and ever hotter. Even looking at Canoweissmon and Shine Greymon, their horns are shaped in a similar format, they do share a few matching body markings on the arms and legs, and both even have a blue glowing core in the centre of their chests. Now until we see Shine Greymon in the TCG, the visual comparisons and shared motifs are the only thing going for it. Plus I guess the fact it becomes a Greymon species, but Digimon is free flowing with its evolutions so who cares?

Assuming that MedievalGallantmon is the champion of the Baluluna region and that Hexeblaumon could be the champion of the Aquary region, who could be the champion of the Eneruge and Earthlin regions? Could there be a leader of this champions that resides at the top of Mount Brocken (a so what Archmage)?
One of my favorite Digimon is Lopmon, hailing from when I was a kid and owned Digimon The Movie on VHS and played it on loop day in and day out. I love Wendigomon as a darker Digivolution, Turuiemon is great as it's more standard Champion, and Antylamon is amazing as an Ultimate. For Megas, however... look, I can dig the two flavors of Cherubimon, but I'm not the biggest fan. In the style of this video, I'd sub out good Cherubimon for Rasielmon. Still a higher ranked Angel/Ophan Mega, and keeps beast-like traits from throughout the line.

Recently I used Gaossmon as the Rookie for Deltamon, who then digivolved further into Orochimon, before finally reaching Ebonwumon for a project recently and I do think it's a perfect kind of middle ground of not sticking to one theme too tightly, but remaining smooth and consistent.
A cool idea for a video could be Digimon without partners full lines, like Elecmon, Wizardmon, or Pixiemon from Digimon Adventure, and what their full lines would be like. For example, I think it'd be cool if Elecmon eventually became Pandamon to be a guardian of Primary Village, while looking cute to not scare the babies

Wizardmon and Wisemon already seems obvious as they are already meant to digivolve into one another, but Barbamon could act as the Mega as it is a transition from a Demon Man digimon into a Demon Lord.

When the anime first came out in the states , I used to think that Gatomon was a powerful rookie digimon that could evolved into Leomon . You know the whole feline -cat -lion theory
I didn't know Manticoremon existed before this video. While it's got more similarities with Gargoylemon, I also get some Unimon vibes from it. It has the the tattered white wings, armored headpiece, and basis in a mythical composite animal in common with him. It would also look like a good dark digivolution counterpart to Hippogriffmon in Unimon's line.
I really wish Kokatorimon and Akatorimon would get some love. There are so many real life flightless birds that could be mixed in with the mythical elements from the cockatrice and basilisk that you could make a really interesting dedicated line but they just go nowhere.
You probably didn't know about him because, while he has existed since 2020(according to the wiki) he was only used pretty recently in an Episode of Ghost Game. Digimon has this annoying habit of creating digimon just for the heck of it but never actively using a lot of them.
Seriously agree with Kokatorimon and Akatorimon. Like, they don't even really resemble the mythological Cockatrice, so an evolution for at least one of them that more so is based on that, rather than just a chicken, would be really cool, or maybe something more Gorgon-based to lean into the snake-aspect of the Cockatrice instead.
Luckily, I feel the chances aren't even that bad, considering we recently got what seems to be a new "canon" evolution for Dokugumon (and possibly Minotaurmon) in Gyukimon, and a possible new inbetween stage for Myushamon and Zanbamon with Oboromon. And of course, just recently appearently a Mega for Monzaemon, so they definitely seem to be focusing on extending evolution-lines for OG-Digimon.
I haven't watched since Frontier and I only know the main Digimon partners from Fusion.
You know, speaking of SkullMeramon, it always seemed very weird to me that the Mera-species always stopped at Ultimate and having to branch off into other lines instead of having a through-line. Wonder if there's enough Digimon for a "Species that stop at Ultimate" or something.

Thanks for including my Deathmeramon-Shroudmon one (& nice that my Hawkmon/Aquilamon - Garudamon one snuck into the screencap!). I actually have a full evo animationfor it in mind too: The flames around his body would be get sucked in, causing him to heat up and turn red. His hair would explode into flames and his eyes would start to glow from within, then you'd see his lower metal jaw pop off from the heat and his upper mask would transform. Then the focus shifts to his chest, and he yanks the now molten chains around his torso off (showing shroudmon's "bolt" sign on his chest) and then clanks his fists together which transforms molten metal covering them into the gauntlets as sparks go everywhere! ...Anyways, for ideas for a third video, here's a few (actually, a lot, haha) more, too:
- The aformentioned, sorta snuck-in-but-not-disscussed fact that Garudamon fits Hawkmon line more then Biyomon: Not only does it visually match Hawkmon and Aquilamon, but it also sorta mirrors Slyphymon as an alternate bird-man perfect/uiltimate stage.
- Reppamon evolving into Kyukimon: Both are based on small mammalian Japanese yokai with associated with blades and knives, and both have a sort of cool, subdued color scheme. Technically, this HAS been featured in some of the games, but only like twice and requiring a jogress for one of them.
- Sorcerimon into Panjyamon X: Sorcerimon's snowflake shaped staff turns into Panjyamon X's snowflake battle axe. You could then have it evolve from SnowGoburimon (where his club becomes the staff) and into Hexabluemon (where it becomes his various ice weapons).
- A few things with Rebellimon: It already evolves from Ogremon, but Ogremon X actualy fits as a prevo even better, and as evolutions, I think it fits Boltmon even better then evolving into Titamon does: Boltmon still has the green, muscle man look, but continues to have machinery like Rebellimon does (vs Titamon losing any cyborg elements). I also quite like Breakdramon as a Rebellimon evolution: Wheras Titamon sorta reverts Rebellimon back into being organic, Boltmon continues to be a mix, Breakdramon sorta works as an evolution where he mechanizes even further: Something about Breakdramon I think more then other machine Digimon evokes Rebellimon/Ogremon to me, I think because of the green color, and the fact that Breakdramon is construction equipment which fits the urban/punk theme of Rebellimon, etc. You still see bits of organic matter around his eyes, too.
- Boogiemon and Phelesmon becoming Barbamon: It retaines a Red, Black, Purple, and Gold color scheme, all are demons, and Phelesmon grants people's wishes for wealth and fortune, while Babramon is greedy.
- For Gaioumon, Kotemomn and Dinohumon (Yakasamon works even better due to the skin color and asian theme, and has only evolved freom Kotemon in the TCG I thnk, so that too!) make perfect sense as child/rookie and adult/champion stages, as humanoid lizard swordsmen. Sadly., the perfect/ultimate stage options are less ideal, but Hisyaryumon sorta works as as a black and red (like Gaioumon) Japanese dragon that TRANSFORMS into a sword (though the TCG and some of the games do this a lot), and I actually think Master Tyrannomon does too, as a black and red dinosaur that is experienced and has become a combat master (which AFAIK, the evo connection has never been done before)
- NeoDevimon evolving into the "core" Quartzmon: They both have multi-eyed golden masks and sickly grey bodies. Neodevimon being an experiment in the original manga it's from works too.
- Missimon to kokukuwagamon, as the former looks like a robotic insect
- Harpymon to Shutumon, as humanoid bird people with a sort of white/lavender ish color scheme. I guess Silphymon too?
- Gummdramon and Arrestdramon evolving into Cyberdramon: All are blueish humanoid dragons, and the former are stretchy and flexiable, while Cyberramon has "rubber armor" according to it's reference book entry.
As far other ideas in the video, I actually really love the Kirinmon to Goddramon/Goldramon evolution here, it visually fits a ton and I'd never considered it, and while I had considered Kokatorimon to Vulturemon, the whole turning things to stone > sand connection I never put together.
Also, since Mitamamon came up as a Kirimon evolution, it actually works as a Kyukimon one for my Reppamon > Kyukimon suggestion there: It's likewise based on a a small Mammalian Yokai, though not one with blades.

If the anime is anything to go by, Rebellimon will probably never canonically evolve into Boltmon, that would contradict the outcome of their fight in Adventure 2020.
Phelesemon into Barbamon is one I was surprised doesn't exist.
Since we're on the topic of Baluchimon and Manticoremon, I'm pretty sure Oboromon was designed as the middle step between Musyamon and Zanbamon. Not only is it another demonic swordman, but it also has Zanbamon's horse head in place of its left arm. It doesn't really belong in a video like this since this is an entirely posible line since its debut on the Ryudamon DiM Card, but I just thought I'd point out how much I love seeing classic Digimon get evolutions. It's a great addition to a fan-favorite evolution line for Kotemon since that spot has often been taken by the swordless Asuramon.
On a different note, while Bokomon can evolve into Nanimon I think the latter should be able to evolve into Orochimon and then into Bacchusmon for a full line of an old man that gets progresively drunker.
It makes better sense Asuramon or Vajramon.

I know Zeke Greymon generally Evolves from a metal Greymon who seeks victory and it is more gun based like Blitz Greymon BUT I feel like it's gold armor really gos really well with the Yellow Guilmon line

Absolutely in love with the idea of pegasusmon to chirinmon to godramon. I feel like a lot of digimon have a very missed opportunity to have two separate evolution lines, beast and humanoid lines. Patamon is a great example of this, as angemon, magnangemon, and seraphimon all connect very well, but magnangemon to godramon doesn't work super well. The same works with gatomon, as angewomon doesn't connect very well with magnadramon, but it does connect well with ophanimon. I see the same thing with gomamon, ikkakumon, zudomon, vikemon, and plesiomon, where there could very easily be a beast and human dedicated line of evolution
I'm glad you liked the Otamamon -> Thunderballmon idea! I really love the Mamemon family but no preevolution for Thunderballmon has ever felt right until I saw Otamamon one day and went "wait a second". It was actually somebody else who told me about the connection of Otamamon X to PrinceMamemon X and that just cemented it for me.
Now, Otamamon -> Thunderballmon is my preferred Digimon partner. I am dying to one day see it be canon!
I personaly like Astamon as an ultimate for Grizzmon.

I'm honestly a bit hestitant on Gazimon to Dorulumon, on one hand because they don't match colorwise at all, on the other because Gazimon appears more like a cat to me, unlike the wolf that Dorulumon is, but ultimately, it's Digimon, it'd be far from the weirdest thing happening, and seeing how we're primarily talking about "options" here, not "intended evolutions", why not.
PawnChessmon Black also makes a lot of sense for SkullKnightmon considering how XrosWars ties PawnChessmon White to Knightmon, with it feeling like a very fitting Rookie for Gladimon, which I'm suprised hasn't happened yet despite Knightmon coming from KnightChessmon before.
Parrotmon into Ceresmon is another one I'm somewhat split on, visually, it fits very well, but the mythology-nerd in me says that to digivolve into Ceresmon, the goddess of nature, plants and fertility, you'd need a tie to, well, nature and plants, but on the other hand, the only bird/plant Digimon is Delumon (unless they eventually give us an even more plant-focused bird-line based on how Piyomon digivolves from Yokomon, a plant).
Otamamon into Thunderballmon is actuall Galaxy Brain, that connection is perfect. Also kinda fits since the "tama" in "Otama" could maybe be read as "ball", same as "Thunderball", so the lore just thickens more and more.
BlitzGreymon from MetalGrowlmon would fit pretty well visually, and I certainly wouldn't complain about a more direct link between the Greymon- and Growlmon-family (if you could Growlmons even a "family"), seeing how at least according to Tamers' lore, Guilmon is probably primarily based on Agumon, so the Growlmon-family should probably be at the very least close relatives if not a branch of the Greymon-family... at least according to that canon, there are canons where Guilmon wasn't created by Takato and just came to be naturally after all.
To bring up one of my own, with how much they leaned into the snake-motif for Minervamon, I'm suprised that it has never evolved from Sandiramon or Orochimon, Hisaryumon being the only snake-like Digimon it has digivolved from in the past, and that probably primarily because of the sword-motif.
Sirenmon is similarly puzzling, as it can probably be seen as the "main pre-stage" for the female Olympus Twelve sans Dianamon, due to the tie through Greek myth I assume, but the only ones we've actually seen it digivolve into are Junomon and Ceresmon appearently, yet the one it makes the most sense for is probably Venusmon imo, visually, with Venusmons more feather-y aspects, but also thematically, Siren being often associated with water, luring people in with song, Venus being born from the water, goddess of love in all forms and thus generally considered alluring.
When Heavyleomon came out, I've always loved the line of Liollmon> Liamon> Loaderleomon> to finally Heavyleomon
Per usual, great video, Karn EX!. Certainly odd the absence of a lot of these Digimon from the digivolution lines you'd mentioned despite the blatant similarities between such. Honestly, I hadn't even thought of the Blitzmon and Wargrowlmon line integration, though yeah, looking back, it's quite odd that they of all can't serve as digivolution line potential.

It’s not exactly a ‘belongs’ in another Digivolution line, but ever since I discovered BlackGargomon, I really liked the idea of it going into Cerberumon, especially Cerberumon Werewolf Mode.

If you do another video like this, something that came to my mind recently, would be WarGrowlmon that could digivolve into Gaiomon, turning full ground-combat and clore ranged oriented, as opposed to BlitzGreymon with its canons:
- They are both virus types.
- WarGrowlmon belongs to 4 fields, but 2 of them are Dragon's Roar and Nature Spirits, the two fields in which Gaiomon belongs to.
- Just like you mentionned for BlitzGreymon, the little hair coming of the back of the head could become much longer and sharper on Gaiomon.
- The two giants blades on its arms would turrn into the two giant swords that Gaiomon owns.
- Gaiomon is a Greymon-subspecies, but the Guilmon line is heavily inspired (even in the anime) by the Agumon line.
- Finally, it is said in the reference book for WarGrowlmon that the metallic bit attached to its mouth is a "restraining tool to prevent it to run wild due to excess power", so if it broke, its likely that it would start fighting anything and anyone, and Gaiomon is known for its great power and victory record, as it is said, "it has been confirmed that it possesses an unbelievable combat record from its countless battles."
I must say Skullmeramon to Shroudmon seems more then legit. Pegasusmon becoming Chirinmon and then Mitamamon who is a great mega for Chirimon would also make sense. And the features from Gargoylemon to Manticoremon i can see pretty Well. Gazimon is also not bad but i wish for him to get more love not that he is always a bad guy and that he gets a proper digivolution line. Thinking about a Digimon fitting into a other line got me thinking maybe when Devidramon would be a Ultra Level he could fit better into the Eyesmon digivolution line instead of Orochimon who is a not bad Pick. But because Devidramon has Red eyes and is a dragon he fits there in as well or give him a entire line.

An evolution I'm surprised never really became to be was Dorumon (surprising I think of that, I know) to Youkomon.
Both are purple and white foxes as well as data types. Okay the reference book says Youkomon is blue, but when I color drop its art and models it's purple-
I just consider it a route of Dorumon that leans more into its beast side than dragon. Plus it's Dorumon's more bite things nature becoming the more destructive nature of Youkomon

Even though we don’t have the mega for the main trio yet, my head cannon for now that canoweissmon can digivolve into examon. Mostly because of there similarities (wings,head,etc) and I feel like canoweissmon would digivolve into something worthy of a royal knight,mainly for the finale of ghost game.

A bit messy, but I've always liked the line of gaossmon-> (greymon 2010)-> (og) metalgreymon virus-> blitzgreymon you kinda get a blue lizard that gets more mechanical.
Another line I've always liked has been kotemon-> musyamon-> asuramon-> tactimon it's like a story of a little guy that trained, became a warrior, then became a tactitian after all that experience (nice line of demon man digimon lol)

Nice video! Might as well put in another Idea. I dont know if this has been covered already, but: Mastemon as a lightside evo of Lucemon FM. Not only does it work well as a straight up evolution from ultimate to mega, the design of a fusion of light and dark works so well. Not only that, but its special attacks mirror each other too, both combining the two into balls of energy. Fun fact: In digimon dawn and dusk, you can fuse angemon and devimon to lucemon FM, yet another connection.

I feel Astamon should be able to digivolve into Avengekidmon a mafia based digimon becoming a lone ranger
Okay this might be a pair of odd ones but hear me out, both involve Mermaimon. To me I think it is crazy that Mermaimon has never digivolved from Ranamon, who is the descendant of AncientMermaimon and is often used as a champion. They both even have fins for ears in the exact same place. I feel Mermaimon would work as an alternate ultimate for AncientMermaimon's normal line of Ranamon - Calmaramon - AncientMermaimon. To me anyway Mermaimon looks more like a bridge between Ranamon and AncientMermaimon then Calmaramon.
Another champion I feel would work for Mermaimon is strangely enough Witchmon. Witchmon in the reference book is said to have mastered sorcery over water magic. Both Witchmon and Mermaimon are female presenting digimon with blonde hair, covered in red and black clothing, and use a yellow/golden weapon to fly or float (Witchmon's broom vs Mermaimon's anchor.) Another thing the two have in common is they where both ideas submitted by fans. That one isn't as important as their other similarities for a digivolution line, but it is still true!
This video gets an instant like from me just for that Big Bad Beetleborgs reference. Also I can’t think of any new suggestions right now so I’m just going to post what I suggest last time. *I think Goldramon(Goddramon) could work as the mega to Shakkoumon.
Goldramon already looks more like a proper dna evolution of Angemon and Ankylomon, a yellow and white holy dragon/dinosaur mix and I think the x-antibody version has some armor too, but I also think Shakkoumon being a Shinto idol possibly related to gods becoming a full on God creature makes sense for its line thematically. And Shakkoumon was the biggest of the 02 dna ultimates so it having an even bigger Giant God Dragon for its mega like in Adventure 2020 would be cool too I think*
So many cool Digimon I never heard about...
Also, on the subject of Blitzgreymon being a versatile mega, I think it would work well for RedVeedramon as well. Tho it would need an ultimate to fill in the gap there, I can't think of any unique one right now.
A Digivolution-Line I personally would like to consider is Elecmon -> Tyrannomon -> MameTyrannomon -> Blitzgreymon

For my personal "Why aren't these Digimon linked" conundrum, I feel like Crusadermon/LordKnightmon should evolve from Lilymon. Crusadermon has pink armor and ribbons, and it's X-antibody form has a strong rose motif. Lilymon can evolve into Rosemon. Crusadermon could be the more "masculine" evolution of Lilymon.
Edit: Speaking of Gazimon, someone on the Digimon Reddit has MadLeomon as an evolution of Gazimon, and it works so well, imo. The skin/hair color and the long arms are a match, and the belts on the tail just move all over the body for MadLeomon.
Not sure about the Lilymon to Crusadermon... But I definitely can get behind Gazimon to Madleomon!

Yes! This is what I'm talking about. I wish Bandai would explore and flesh out the original lore of digimon and build on them precisely with examples like these. They're just walking proof at this point waiting to be legitimised. Giving us new digimon on the reg is cool but then it becomes quantity over quality with a bland coverage over each digimon and lore.
I could see Pyontomon digivolving to Prairiemon. Matching fur colors, both animals, and the boxing gloves upgrading to a set of claws.

I love these videos. Always so late to comment. Since Dim cards came out and random new Digimon. One great one I like for filling in Kokatorimon, normally tied to Penmon/Penguinmon is Tempomon. It's also a Data Digimon. It's still has the bird aspect and hint hint a Penguin Bird-Man. I like also tossing FrosVelgrmon to top it off. While it's a Virus type, when you think about it. Gives off the right vibe for the line. Trust me I know their is so many Digimon just feel like they belong with other Digimon. I always used to toss Mihiramon on Mikemon, thanks to the new cards I was right. Although Duftmon being their was like a duh moment for me. I used DinoTigermon. I love making Digimon trees for fun past time thing. I could give you so many. Like ShimaUnimon to Indramon. Like I get Unimon and all. But I feel like ShimaUnimon is so under rated for a recolor. Doesn't even have a card. Most games it's just a line for Mammothmon. Well DW2. I hope to see more of these videos in the future.

Another evolution line I can see being possible is Spadamon -> Togemogumon -> Panjyamon -> either Dinotigermon or Regulumon. Perhaps even a story could be made for a Spadamon to have been a disciple of a Leomon that got killed (like usual), and once getting strong enough his Ultimate form would reflect his past teacher by becoming an even better version of Leomon.
OK, this is going to sound weird, but I think a good way to give Shoutmon a non-digixros mega would be to have OmniShoutmon digivolve into Omnimon Alter-S.

So the Shoutmon line's whole thing is it being the only other Digimon who can wield the Omega InForce, to the point that OmniShoutmon can summon an Omnimon spirit for one of it's attacks, so it hypercharging the InForce to grow more powerful and taking on a more Omnimon-like form makes a lot of sense. The red of the Blitz arm matches up with Shoutmon and King Shoutmon, while the gold on the Cres arm and the silver of the main body matches OmniShoutmon. And, while the 'Alter-S' officially stands for Alter - Silver, it could just as easily stand for Alter - Shout. Not saying this should replace the jogress by any means, I just think it's a neat alternative.

I wish Swimmon had something more fitting. Tylomon and the newer Tobiumon are the best it's got really. BUT the two new digimon from New Century(haven't seen much about them in a while), Xiquemon and its evolved form work really well actually!
This video was better than the last, I agree on most of these. My personal picks are Falcomon-Petermon-Parrotmon-Eaglemon(suggested by Digimon Shinka), Mushroommon-Arbormon/Petaldramon-Zambamon-Ancient Troiamon, Jaeger Dorulumon becomes Cres Garurumon, Ghostmon-Troopmon-Jokermon-Tactimon, and Dorbickmon is a dark mega for Gammamon. Also, I would love a recolor of Raguelmon to be the mega for Manticoremon.
Also if Bandai did a Fire Emblem three houses Digimon Game, I think Kotemon should be the rookie with the following lines: (Skull Knightmon-Dark Knightmon-Craniamon), (Dinohumon-Knightmon-Crusadermon), (Gladimon-Panjyamon-Leopardmon), and the DLC (Musyamon-Oboromon-Zambamon). Maybe the X-antibody forms for the final battle per route.
I would love to see what people think would be good evolutions for burgermon. My boy is so sweet and good, he deserves some love. I was thinking digimon related to armadillomon, because they have those same fluffs on the side of thier heads, but looking at gargoylemon, its not too far of a stretch to slide him in there. I would love to see some more ideas related to burgermon.
I always thought that Chaosdramon looks like a jogress evolution between Machinedramon and Blitzgreymon. The armor of Blitzgreymon surrounds Machinedramon leading to Chaosdramon. Furthermore, the lightning aspect of Chaosdramon will then have come directly from Blitzgreymon.
My go-to for Skull Knightmon is Kotemon because of the glowing yellow eyes and the horns.
I also use Asuramon to Shroudmon since both are based on asuras.

Always love these evo line videos! Personally think Revolvmon into Astamon and then into Magnakidmon should be a thing, with them all being heavily gun and outlaw focused as well as having similar scarves (from Revolv's torn bandana to Asta's long scarf of the same color, leading into Magnakid's wing scarf of a similar length and style)
10:47 It can turn things to stone because it's a Cockatrice, which is basically "Rooster/Chicken with weird bits added", most commonly a serpent tail, but as with many mythical creatures, depictions vary.
One digimon that would be great if it could evolve to Cres Garurumon outside of the card game rules is Grademon. Ironicaly, it can digivolve to Blitzgreymon just fine.
My ideal line would be:
Dorumon (Beast) -> Siesamon X-Antibody (Holy Beast) -> Grademon (Warrior) -> Cres Garurumon (Beast Knight)
Gold and Beast motiff all around!
I alway see people talking about how bearmon doesn’t have a dedicated evolution line after grizzlymon, but I think that if u do bearmon to grizzlymon to korikakumon to Vikemon It makes a lot of sense. Grizzlymon looks a lot like korikakumon, the three claws, the symbol in the forehead, the shoulder pads, etc. Then korikakumon to vikemon also makes a lot of sense since their design is very similar, with the axes becoming the weapons in vikemons back.
Blitzgreymon from Wargrowlmon fits a certain evolutionary narrative too. It's a fairly comfortable progression of the sometimes aggressive Guilmon line from physical battling in Growlmon, into the more ranged gun based combat of Blitzgreymon. Wargrowlmon might have the blades, rather than guns on his arms, but he still fights by energizing them, much like Blitzgreymon does, AND his chest army has electrical blasting capabilities, much like Blitz's overall offensive kit.
The line of Gabumon>Namekemon>Monzaemon has been kicking around in my head for a while now. Gabumon's pelt kinda of takes over, turning it into a puppet with a similar color scheme (to it's skin tone, not the pelt). Then, Monzaemon continues the color trend of yellow, and I think it makes sense to go straight for ShinMonzaemon for the mega.
A mon that I would love to see in a evolution line is my favorite Digimon Mail Birdramon (I personally think shouldn't be a Birdramon and have just been Maildramon) who I think could work as a branch evolution for Sealsdramon so that way you have Tankdramon for Land and then Mail Birdramon for Air

Gatomon is mostly treated as a rookie aside from her first fight in Adventure 1. I think between Adventure 1,2, and Tri, Salamon has less than 10 minutes of screentime sadly. (Might not be that bad, but she may as well be in another line).

I wouldn't be surprised if the reason Skullmeramon is Data instead of Virus is due to Ghost Rider, there's definitely a visual similarity between Ghost Rider and Skullmeramon but Ghost Rider is more of an anti-hero than an actual villain, basically like how Skullmeramon is more 'ow the edge" rather than evil.
Cool connection idea's, I like the Kokuwamon, Gazimon, & Wargrowlmon too Ballistamon, Dorulumon, and Blitzgreymon possible evolutions, How a Lilymon or Lilamon connection with Crusadermon, Angoramon/Lamortmon too Monzaemon/Shin Monzaemon, and Canoweissmon too Examon, Examon X, Jesmon, or Jesmon GX.
Although I still love the idea of Examon being an alternate final evolution of Guilmon, with Gallant and Exa both being Royal Knights and also having the similarities of carrying lances, (or as someone else had pointed out, Gallantmon and Megidramon jogressing into Examon), I can’t lie WarGrowlmon into BlitzGreymon looks like such an awesome idea that it’s honestly made me like BlitzGreymon more lol

Here's an idea for a digivolution line I've had for a few years, as a way to give Maki Himekawa's Tapirmon from Tri a full evolution line to compensate for how Tapirmon never became a Sovereign. Tapirmon, then Baluchimon, then Megadramon, and then Alphamon. The use of Alphamon is mostly a reference to his appearance in Tri, while Baluchimon was used because it's a popular champion for Tapirmon nowadays. A headcanon that I usually add to that is there being a sixth original digidestined, who had a partner Dracomon, who could become Huanglongmon by fusing with the four Sovereigns, and then Alphamon could ride on top of Huanglongmon in a similar way to SkullKnightmon and Axemon, and Alphamon would also become Alphamon Ouryuken for even more power.
One line that I like that may not hit for everyone is Meramon to Skullmeramon to Gankoomon/Gankoomon X. I think it's been done in a few games and maybe one of the card games, but never like an official line where they didn't have an equal chance of becoming something else, but it may not count. The connection mostly goes from Skullmeramon to Gankoomon where they have a similar build down to their massive hands which are pulsing with flaming energy and when you factor in the X-Antibody form, they both are shirtless and covered in flames with spiked up hair. Plus both have a silver mask, with Gankoomon's covering less of its face, so you could view it as either the line becoming more humanoid overtime or view it as opening up more of itself as it becomes a Royal Knight. It also works thematically since both Skullmeramon and Gankoomon have a delinquent theme, with Skullmeramon having the chains and flames of a death metalhead and Gankoomon being based off of Banchos, which are the leaders of Japanese deliquent gangs. So you could view it as it keeping its deliquent past, but redirecting it to be more productive and acting more as a leader allowing it to rise to the ranks of the Royal Knights and going from a nightmare solider to a Virus Buster. And the fact they they're all data attribute doesn't hurt either. And looking at other official lines, on Impmon's D-Ark for Tamers, Meramon and Skullmeramon are his champion an ultimate, and since Beelzemon had that same biker/delinquent feel we've been looking at, you could see it's Mega evolution as a turning point where it can either turn further away from other digimon and fall to become a demon lord, or rise to become a leader in its own way and become a Royal Knight, kind of like how Great Angels like Serphimon and Ophanimon have Demon Lord equivalents in Daemon and Lillithmon.
You should make a list of Digimon that look like they belong in other series. (Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokémon, Kirby, etc)
Also they should come up with a Digimon based on Burger King.
look up Burgamon and Potamon, you'll love them
With Pegasusmon, do armor digimon get to evolve further? I always got the impression, right or wrongly, that it was a side evo that got a rookie to near champion but no further. Ulitmate armor evolutions would be awesome.
In most like video games etc they do Digivolve further. A lot of people also want a continuity where Pegasusmon is just a Champion in its own right :)

Probably a hot take, but I can see Dynasmon being a mega in (Veemon - ExVeemon - ? - Dynasmon). Unfortunately aside from using AeroVeedramon I can't quite think of an appropriate Ultimate to fit in there.
Wingdramon could be solid candidate for that role: It has both blue skin and wings (like Dynasmon) and XV-mon can digivolve into it.
V-mon -> XV-mon -> Wingdramon -> Dynasmon
love this video and it kinda brought to mind something it's a little wierd to me that seemingly nothing digivolves to ZeedGaururmon when it seem so obvious it should be the mega of psychmon.

One of my Favorite optional digivolutions is RiseGreymon to Magnakiddmon. Both are centered around a revolver theme and are draconic in nature.
If I could make a suggestion for the next similar video: Yokomon->Rabbitmon looks very right. They have the same exact eyes and similar color schemes all the way down to Rabbitmon having a blue handkerchief tied around it's neck that matches Yokomon's flower petals. Yokomon->Rabbitmon->Lekismon->Crescemon as a possible path, with the blue seeming to get dimmer until it turns gray on Crescemon.
I don’t know if this has been used in anything official before but that one satyr half goat one turning into its yellow/holy ultimate and then into lucemon x antibody looks very through especially with the red ring and yellow horn thing

Here is a stupid but fun idea, what if beastmon could become ancient sphinx mon. I get going from a human female catgirl to a quadraped bringer of darkness is weird, but so is digimon. For actual reasons, beastmon is virus nightmare soldier digimon with Egypt theams just like ancient sphinx mon, and even though she is lazy and a bit of a dits, she is technically a vampire like digimon and can be very dark and scary when she needs to be. So it might be dumb, but I like it
One Digimon that has bothered me for w ahile is Sangloupmon in the Dracmon line. I absolutely LOVE his design but he is just completely out of place as a connection between Dracmon and Matadormon. Sure there are some smaller details that follow through this line but this badass wolf in this demon man line feels weird. He would actually fit pretty well as another option for Gazimon i'd say(i know he is an option for him but not is "mainline" evolution) They are both these grey Dog-like Virus types
Sangloupmon in the demon man/vampire-line is more so for vampire-lore reasons, from what I recall, as I'm pretty sure at least early vampires could turn into wolves, additionally to bats and other animals. Dracmon of course being based on Dracula, at least in terms of name, it continueing that way into a wolf makes sense, then it also continues into Vamdemon sometimes.
I like Dobermon or Fangmon as evos for Gazimon.

I do wish we'd get more BlitzGreymon love. Absolutely LOVE his design, he's a refreshing change of pace from most WarGreymon stuff, and he's a Cyborg. He's a Mega I always rock in my main Red/Black deck and I would love to see him get some support in the card game beyond the starter deck and his first release.
Well he appeared in the anime and the mobile games, unlike my boy Victorygreymon

I disagree with several of these, but it's always fun to discuss what connections people make since some of them are really cool and are things you wouldn't think of.
Addressing three of the ones brought up in this video:
I've pretty much always seen the line as Floramon - Kiwimon - Deramon - Ceresmon due to the plant-bird connection throughout. Give Deramon the flight capacity it dreams of!
Floramon's petal mask goes into the more ancient Kiwimon's mask/beak, then you get Deramon branching out (pun intended) to bring the plants more strongly into the design again and also having a crown but still being unable to fly and then eventually becoming Ceresmon, upgrading from royalty to a deity Digimon that is a giant forest bird that can somehow fly. Still not sure if I prefer Yokomon or Tanemon as the In-Training for Floramon, Yokomon would explain the bird theming while still being a plant-leaning line, whereas Tanemon would explain Ceresmon Medium because of Rosemon being the typical Tanemon Mega.
After discovering Vulturemon exists, I've immediately kicked Karatenmon out of its position as ultimate version of Saberdramon, as Vulturemon is just a really blatant virus line version of Garudamon. Look at them side by side and you'll see all of the proportions line up along with many key details. Which would mean that Vulturemon already has a mega with Ornismon. Meanwhile Karatenmon goes back to fighting Crowmon for the position as a Ravemon line ultimate.
And finally, as I have mentioned briefly elsewhere, I really like the idea of Shamanmon - Fugamon - Asuramon - Shroudmon.
The Goblimon/Ogremon side lines have been sorely neglected, and with Shroudmon looking so much like a red, fiery alternate version of Titamon, it works so nicely to give at least one of the side lines a full line. Still waiting on SnowGoblimon and Hyogamon to get a giant blue icy Oni mega and hopefully an ultimate that can bridge the gap as well.
On the topic of WarGrowlmon into BlitzGreymon, it hit me that BlackWarGrowlmon going into BlackWarGreymon would actually look REALLY cool
A jogress of all four supposedly kunemon evos ie butterflymon, honeybeemon, mothmon and stingmon with flybeemon to become some ancient armpured waspmon or something.
I was working in a Gankoomon evo line that made somewhat sense and the fact Gokyumon doesn’t evolve into him. Gankoomon has that Sage like quality, like a kung fu master reaching his full potential. Then the whole evolution of monkey to human, its so good imo

My favourite evolution thing is that Nyaromon looks exactly like a Tiger Deva (forget its name) baby but as far as I know its never said anywhere. Both have very similar tail patterns and colours. And Koemon Mojyamon look like lower forms for Mojyamon. Mutant Sakuyamon which was only in Links I think looks like it was made for silver Kyuubimon and silver Taomon.
One possible evolution line I realised that could work is Gammamon > Betel Gammamon > Canoweissmon > Shine Greymon
Relating to the reference book listing, Betel Gammamon and Canoweissmon gain their burning red and pure white from their burning hearts, adding on the Gammamon evolutions being named after constellations and Betel Gammamon's attacks using the word "Sol", being Latin for Sun
Now looking at Shine Greymon's reference book listing, it out right states it fights with red hot solar energy, giving off a theme of a star that burns ever brighter and ever hotter.
Even looking at Canoweissmon and Shine Greymon, their horns are shaped in a similar format, they do share a few matching body markings on the arms and legs, and both even have a blue glowing core in the centre of their chests.
Now until we see Shine Greymon in the TCG, the visual comparisons and shared motifs are the only thing going for it. Plus I guess the fact it becomes a Greymon species, but Digimon is free flowing with its evolutions so who cares?
never mind Gazimon never becoming Dorulumon, but Labramon also never was used as Dorulumons rookie and they look alot alike.

Assuming that MedievalGallantmon is the champion of the Baluluna region and that Hexeblaumon could be the champion of the Aquary region, who could be the champion of the Eneruge and Earthlin regions? Could there be a leader of this champions that resides at the top of Mount Brocken (a so what Archmage)?
Volturemon woks really nice together aquilamon too, both are desert prey bird, and had a feathered red wings, and three white feather in shoulder.
One of my favorite Digimon is Lopmon, hailing from when I was a kid and owned Digimon The Movie on VHS and played it on loop day in and day out. I love Wendigomon as a darker Digivolution, Turuiemon is great as it's more standard Champion, and Antylamon is amazing as an Ultimate.
For Megas, however... look, I can dig the two flavors of Cherubimon, but I'm not the biggest fan. In the style of this video, I'd sub out good Cherubimon for Rasielmon. Still a higher ranked Angel/Ophan Mega, and keeps beast-like traits from throughout the line.
