Mohnish Pabrai is a treasure. I also love to listen to him. I also love to listen to Swedish Investor and you Phil Town. Thank you so much. Greetings from Africa 🌍👋
I'm reading and following Phil Town (Payback + Rule 1) / Warren Buffet, started to read his letters/ Mohnish Pabrai and Ray Dalio, watching on You tube. Thank you for all of your advises!
I listened to Peter Schiff and started understanding central banks, the Fed and started moving into sound money 3 years back. What great timing...picked it at the low and soon this will hit the fan.
Danielle Dimartino Booth is great. She worked at The Federal Reserve for 9 years, wrote a best selling book, and gives a great easy to understand macro perspective. Nomi Prins is also good to follow. Hedgeye is also good.
4:45 yeah Warren Buffett doesn't seem to hide the fact that he is hedging what he says in public vs what he is thinking in private, charlie munger doesn't do that as much, i try to keep that in mind when listening to warren, but Ray seems to overtly speak his mind
Phil, totally agree. Ray's videos are really well done. I studied econ in college (I'm 57) and his video on the debt cycle is really, really well done.
Love your videos, especially lately! I attended one of your weekend training in Montreal a few years ago. Really enjoyed it and I'm still applying what you taught us back then. Cheers!
I follow you Phil ... and Ray. I also like Danielle Dimartino and Chris Cole of Artemis Capital. She interprets things the Fed is doing. What she is saying now is in line with what Ray is saying.
Do you know any simple ways to do this? Read PTs Rule 1 but difficult to follow. Also free sites dont have info and have different terms etc. Would be eealky greatful if you have a technique you could share with me
I love Ray Dalio's viewpoint, and it makes total sense. And I like Charlie more than Warren. Thanks, Phil, for sharing. I am very enlightened by your education and videos.
Just wanted to thank you on your PHILanthropic approach to investing and helping us Rulers. Saw you in Vancouver BC a few years back and the value that you gave us over that weekend far exceeded the cost of the course. Would love to take it again now that I have a better understanding. Chiptole Mexican Grill!!!!
All that you mentioned + you. I would add Bill Ackman video about Finance, to the must watch list. I also like Sven Carlin, he wrote a book called Value Investing.
Thank you for your content and manner of teaching. I’m learning and growing in my confidence in an area that has for so long felt ominous and intimidating. I will read up on those guys you recommenced - thanks.
I got introduced to Ray dalio few days back. Watched one of his videos. But ill check him out more. I love Charlie munger,Phil Town, and buffet. I also watch the minority mindset yt channel. Charlie is my favorite! Lol
Not an in Investor, but a fantastic teacher : Aswath Damodaran! His lectures on valuation are amazing. He also writes long, up to date articles at seekingalpha.com. Open-minded and fun to listen to. I love that guy.
I want to go back to another one of your weekend workshops next year. I wish you had a part one and part two of the weekend. Part two could go deeper with derivatives.
What websites are there you can go on, and see what investors are buying? I remember him giving them out, but i can’t remember where I wrote them down. Help please!
I'm mostly following yourself my guy. But have read each of the book recommendations and really connected to Principals' by Ray and Education of a Value Investor by Guy.
PE of US stocks are now at 38 which is very high from about 20 PE, considering the debt consolidation and deficit vs revenue and productivity. I think the market is way overvalued and doesn’t make any sense. Several bubbles in technology businesses especially EV. It’s giving me a vibe of 1999.
Awesome as usual Phil. Thanks so much for keeping us all informed. It is greatly appreciated. I have gotten many others to attend your seminar and all have loved it. I have been watching guru David Tepper, but I'll add on the ones you suggested as well.
Enjoyed this video. I am like Guy.....pretty much staying fully invested with just sufficient in cash to top up when opportunities arise. Have a great weekend everyone 😊
Phil- If you're interested in what is going on with the 737 Max deal, check out the 'Flight Safety Detectives' podcast. Listen to the 'Lion Air Accident" Episode 14. These guys nailed it. Not Boeing's fault.
First time ever i understood a real long time investing technique and you know who my guru. YOU..... There are 1000s of gurus but i would say i am learning lot of knowledge from you. Thank You.
Ray is my favorite, and as you mentioned, by far the best macro investor. Interesting because he is betting big on China..... Bill Ackman is also outstanding.
Phil (and any other rule 1 investors) I would love to know your thoughts on Peter Schiff and his stance on buying gold. I would really appreciate any feedback as I'm trying to implement rule 1 investing but also wary of all of the money printing that's currently going on. Thanks guys and girls
I’m a huge fan Phil town. Keep doing what you’re doing! One of my favorite investor I’m keeping my eye on is chamath palihapitiya. Do you know of him. What do you think of him as an investor?
Hello Phil Big fun of your channel !! Also follow Ray Dalio and Mohamed El-Erian. Just a question and would be great if you can answer me. The Federal Reserve has taken unprecedented actions to save the economy during the coronavirus crisis, cut interest rates, Congress has passed $ trillions in rescue efforts the economy and the unemployment but also bought high yield ETFs and bonds and it never done it before. My question is what kind of consequences these actions will impact the market ?? Definitely the prices are going up but what you can see in the future when the Fed stop injecting these money ? Thanks for your response and your knowledge. Cheers
How is it possible to have a 50% drawdown when Fed put is in full effect and the Fed may even buy stocks like BOJ? Can somebody explain the thinking behind the Bears?
Phil, do you still believe the market will crash by 50% or more? Can the FED keep it around the current levels with some volatility? If you were swingtrading you could have doubled if not trippled your money in the last 2 months.
Ray Dalio is responsible for me, saving nearly 60% of my portfolio. Sold all my positions in early January. Now I'm getting all my stocks in half of the price. In simple terms, Follow Ray Dalio to learn about the future and follow Warren Buffet and Munger to learn 'What to do' when the future comes knocking the door.
Need some advice from my fellow rule 1ers. Should I wait until the crash happens to open a mutual fund rather than open it right now? I feel like I'm gonna get burned in the short term if I open now rather than a year from now
MattD If you are in US, a RothIRA & Traditional IRA would be better options than a mutual fund. Diversification exposes you to tremendous risk and limits opportunity to experience significant growth.
@@JCTEAM60 Roth and trad. IRAs are tax classifications not specific investments. They usually hold mutual funds so unless I'm misunderstanding, you don't know what you're talking about.
@@Drummerjl1 You are misunderstanding. They are actually investment structures (or buckets), that HAVE tax classifications... but you can put many different investment instruments into them. You can even invest in bonafide real estate (rentals or commercial) and put them into an IRA, and manage them as such. You can do the same for stock/bond investments, gold, oil leases... as well as mutual funds.
Hey Phil. What are your thoughts on the Nasdaq increasing regulations on Chinese companies for them to be able to list on the exchange? A sign of things to come?

RenaissanceTechnology Medallion Fund. If you must ask who Jim Simons is, go ahead and skip to the next comment.
Warren Buffet and Charlie Munger are good ones to follow but I always think for myself too. Do you call yourself a guru? I do watch your channel so 😀.
It's great to have different opinions and perspectives, but also think for yourself! I think that's the best way to do it. 💯
