But then again, it‘s part of their development, so it’s part of BABYMETAL. It’s great to see you smile when watching this. I think „I have never heard anything like this“ is one of the biggest compliments one can get after centuries of music and decades of Metal! Some fans hate this song (my theory being that that’s mainly due to overexposure, as it’s their most popular track), but in my opinion it doesn‘t do a bad job at representing BABYMETAL. It‘s both very heavy and very poppy and cute, it’s catchy and fun, and definitely gives you that WTF experience this band will still give you after years, like they proved with the latest album. Just a small thing, they did not introduce the Kami band at Legend 1997, they were doing Kami band encores for a whole bunch of shows. I do think Legend 1997 was the last show for the Babybones.

'Gimme Chocolate' is one of the songs where the contrast between the metal instrumentation and the Jpop style vocals is most noticeable, in others the fusion is more 'natural' (as far as anything Babymetal do is natural, but I'm sure you know what I mean), but the contrast is nearly always there to some degree or other. In this video the 'band' were miming to a backing track - any time you see them in skeleton suits they are the Babybones and they don't play the instruments. This was their last appearance. The real musicians of the Kami Band were introduced bit by bit playing the encores in some shows from October 2012 and finally taking over for all live performances from the end of this show in December 2013. The Kami Band wear white corpse face paint and white traditional burial shrouds, so you will recognise them when you see them. In 2018 their white shrouds were replaced with dark gowns and in 2019 the face paint was replaced with masks. 'Rondo of Nightmare' with the 'Mischiefs of the Metal Gods' instrumental intro is the best place to see them and some of what they can do.

As for the two different Kami Bands, what I meant was that the group has had a Japanese group of musicians that has appeared with them starting in 2012. However, for the recent US tour, a group of American musicians was used, likely because some of the Japanese Kami Band members had other obligations. The group appears to be working these two Kami bands into their lore; the latest concert in Japan teased that at the next concert, later this month, the "Gods of East" and the "Gods of the West" will play a "Metal symphony at night". I am hoping for some great solos if this the case! I am glad that you liked this song! It's always a gamble. Nice reaction. This show was held the day after Su's 16th birthday on 21st December 2013. Yui and Moa are only two weeks apart in age and are around 18 months younger than Su, so they were 14 in this show. This whole show was really good. It started off with the Babybones (guys in skeleton outfits) miming to backing tracks. Since they were still getting established this was the extent of their budget. The live Kami band played for the last 5 songs of the encore. After this show the Kami band has played the whole set for them at all live gigs. Their albums are recorded with studio session musicians.

Next I would suggest Legend of 1997 Head Banger a song about a 15 year old girl going to her first head banger concert. The group has a wide and I mean WIDE variety of songs and style. This is a classic BABYMETAL track and it's the video that introduced me to the band. But most bands have a song like that Zeppelin has Stairway, Bob Jovi has Living on a Prayer, Sabbath has Iron Man and so on. I for one will NEVER stop loving this song!
It's a very friendly mosh pit at their shows. The band are called the Kami, and it works like Nine Inch Nails, which is Trent and Atticus. When they tour, they grab session musicians from their friends to fill out the band. Here you have the girls, and when they tour they grab session musicians from a pretty small pool and do the tour. The benefit from this is you get different mixes of musicians which makes for a different vibe each tour. And the pool isn't large so you know all the players. Oddly it works. Steely Dan did the same thing. Ozzy is another one.

Six years or so ago I blew this band off when I listened to about 30 seconds of their first release, Doki Doki Morning. BIG MISTAKE on my part. Then three years ago this song comes up in my recommendations & I remembered the band from before so I thought I'd give it a listen. After laughing & giggling like a little school boy ( I was 52 ) & thinking WTF!! I think I just loved that, what did I do? I proceeded to call in sick to work & binge watched Babymetal for 16hrs straight, lol.
This isn't the real band in the video. They are called "Babybones." They mime playing the instruments. They originally performed with Babymetal at the beginning, before they could afford a real band. I believe the first time they played with the ((amazing) Kami-Band was for an encore, in which they played "Death." you should react to it at some point.
kami band were introduced in 2012 with the first Legends show. Since then they performed a few gigs together. But mostly with their previous show band. In 2014 the kami band became their main band. BABYMETAL is a Japanese Kawaii Metal group consisting of (for the most part) SU-METAL on lead vocals, YUIMETAL and MOAMETAL on backing vocals/dancing, or "SCREAM AND DANCE" as they like to call it. I say 'for the most part' as Yui & Moa have a few songs that they do as duets without Su and Su has a few songs she does as solos whilst Yui & Moa take a well deserved break. They were formed in 2010 as part of the idol group Sakura Gakuin, before touring on their own in 2011 and have gone from strength to strength. They started singing to backing tracks with actors in skeleton suits pretending to play instruments (known as BABYBONES) but soon incorporated the Kami Band into their concerts, bringing them in full time at the end of 2013. The Kami Band consists of some of Japan's premier musicians on rotation based on availability. The most popular configuration consisting of Takayoshi Ohmura and Mikio Fujioka on guitar with Leda Cygnus as stand-in, BOH on bass and Aoyama Hideki on drums. These are the people you will see most often in videos. Since the untimely passing of Mikio at the end of 2017 they have enlisted the talents of Isao Fujita on guitar. At the end of 2018 YUIMETAL left the band because of health problems and in 2019 there are 3 girls named AVENGERS that will take her place in a rotating manner. Then three years ago this song comes up in my recommendations & I remembered the band from before so I thought I'd give it a listen. After laughing & giggling like a little school boy ( I was 52 ) & thinking WTF!! I think I just loved that, what did I do? I proceeded to call in sick to work & binge watched Babymetal for 16hrs straight, lol.

This isn't the real band in the video. They are called "Babybones." They mime playing the instruments. They originally performed with Babymetal at the beginning, before they could afford a real band. I believe the first time they played with the ((amazing) Kami-Band was for an encore, in which they played "Death." you should react to it at some point.
kami band were introduced in 2012 with the first Legends show. Since then they performed a few gigs together. But mostly with their previous show band. In 2014 the kami band became their main band. And hell they are sooo good. Each of them is a hero and cant be replaced. RIP guitar god Mikio Fujioka =(

Thanks for choosing to react to BABYMETAL, they're amazing! As someone who is new to the group, I thought I'd give you and your followers a little background on them.
BABYMETAL is a Japanese Kawaii Metal group consisting of (for the most part) SU-METAL on lead vocals, YUIMETAL and MOAMETAL on backing vocals/dancing, or "SCREAM AND DANCE" as they like to call it. I say 'for the most part' as Yui & Moa have a few songs that they do as duets without Su and Su has a few songs she does as solos whilst Yui & Moa take a well deserved break.
They were formed in 2010 as part of the idol group Sakura Gakuin, before touring on their own in 2011 and have gone from strength to strength.
They started singing to backing tracks with actors in skeleton suits pretending to play instruments (known as BABYBONES) but soon incorporated the Kami Band into their concerts, bringing them in full time at the end of 2013. The Kami Band consists of some of Japan's premier musicians on rotation based on availability. The most popular configuration consisting of Takayoshi Ohmura and Mikio Fujioka on guitar with Leda Cygnus as stand-in, BOH on bass and Aoyama Hideki on drums. These are the people you will see most often in videos. Since the untimely passing of Mikio at the end of 2017 they have enlisted the talents of Isao Fujita on guitar. At the end of 2018 YUIMETAL left the band because of health problems and in 2019 there are 3 girls named AVENGERS that will take her place in a rotating manner.

Dirty10 funny side note about this song. In an interview the girls said that at metal festivals a lot of the metal bands have them teach them the dance steps to this song and sing it with them.🤣🤣🤣🤣
