    "Blooming" is a masterpiece in my opinion. Somebody once commented about Kanami's solo and the sudden drop into the sweet harmony as like 'being violently thrown off a cliff and landing in a bed of flower scented pillows".

    This was Kanami's homework assignment for the other Ladies. She challenged them to write a part of a song and she would combine them all together into one. And Blooming is the result.

    "Blooming" was written by Band Maid. "Alone" (2015 or 2016) was the first song they wrote that their record label approved, after that, almost everything was written by Band Maid (with only two exceptions, I think). In the past, Kanami usually wrote all of the music, but now she just gives some notes to Misa and Akane and lets them write their own parts. Miku wrote all of the lyrics until recently when Saiki started helping her with lyrics within the last year or two. Thanks for doing this reaction, I hope you are having a great day!

      Yep, 2016 "Alone" was released. The two exceptions are "Smile" (They asked Kentaro Akutsu, who wrote "Thrill" to pen a song for them as they thought that their fans would enjoy another composition by him) and "Honey" - a cover of a MUCC song for MUCC's anniversary album (one song I don't think they have ever played live).

      Yep. After "Alone," they released "Just Bring It" in January 2019. Four of the thirteen tracks were written by Nora, Goto, and Okamoto; all other tracks are credited to Band-Maid, with Kobato and Atsumi credited or partially credited with lyrics on all but two. They included a cover of Mucc's "Honey" (ハニー) as a bonus track on the February 2018 album "World Domination." They recorded it for Mucc's 20th anniversary. "Smile" is the B-side of the "Bubble single released January 2019. It has music by Kentarō Akutsu and lyrics by Kobato Miku. "The Dragon Cries" is on "Conqueror" (released December 2019), and it has music by Band-Maid and lyrics by Tom Kenney. Everything else is credited to Band-Maid and lyrics to Kobato and/or Atsumi.

      @@Davey-Boyd We must have been writing at the same time. Even started our posts pretty much the same! It always amazes me how Kanami and crew took the reins and ran with it; and just how good all their songs actually are. It's not like MIJ, NB, and BNM are bad albums, but what they've done since JBI is really spectacular. We know there's going to be a new album soon. We have no idea what to expect, except it will be brilliant. We live in good times!

    Yeah! “Blooming” is top tier Band Maid. One of the finest examples of their ability to dynamically transition. Dude, those chills happen a lot with this band’s music.
    I know you have music in your blood because you had to stop when you got to the “thrown off the cliff” part!
    There was a Maidiac, still can’t remember who, that described that transition from the fiery solo into that beautiful bridge as: “being thrown off a cliff and landing in the arms of an angel.” (I wish I could say I came up with this)
    Anyways, most would agree “Blooming” is on their favorites list.
    It’s off their “Conqueror” album, which has distinct tones. A sweet follow up to this would be “Bubble.” Same tones with a funky, tasty riff.

    I had to listen to this song 7 times before I got everything. Once, then a second time to just hear Kanami, a third to just hear Akane, a fourth to just hear MISA, a fifth to hear Miku's rhythm guitar, a sixth to hear the vocal melody and harmonies, and a seventh to reappreciate. Truly a masterpiece of composition and execution.

    I think my Band-Maid Top Ten song list is at least 40 or 50 songs long at this point, and some of them I love so much, I double them up in the playlist, just so I can hear them again with more frequency in Shuffle Mode, lol. This is one of the top, top ten for me hahaha

    A Rock masterpiece for sure. This song has it all and will be proven timeless in the rock genre as time goes on. The angelic harmonies at that breakdown always give me chill.
    This song will always be in my top favorites no matter what Band-Maid turns out in the future.....it's that good. Kanami absolutely blew me away here when I first listened to Blooming. I knew she was a great guitarist up to this point but her solo here solidified her greatness and slotted her into a level of one of the best ever. Truly a master.

    When Ryan Mears reacted to this song he superimposed a graphic over the video that read: “MASTERPIECE” after the song ended. What a perfect, succinct, way to express ultimate Truth!

    Well, what I just wrote under the video for Dice & Hate fits this song here even better, doesn't it? These ladies make the Energizer bunny look really bad! And as someone described the solo so beautifully in the comments a long time ago. Kanami, Akane and Misa send you over the edge of a high cliff with full speed and just before you hit the ground, Saiki and Miku catch you on a soft cloud that carries you smoothly towards the horizon. Or something like that. :) In any case, it fits! 🤭🤘🏻

    I wouldn’t call Saiki’s quick vocals “rapping” in this one… for that there is a section of “Influencer” that definitely fits that description. I would just call this musically frenetic singing. Which I love.
    This is a top 3 band maid song for me. (Manners and FREEZER being the other two, no particular order. All very different songs)

    If you like the softer side of BAND-MAID check out some of those like, 'Daydreaming', 'About Us', 'Before Yesterday', 'Sayonakidori' and the acoustic version of 'Puzzle'. Something in your mic is ringing. You might consider an isolation mount.

    All credits to the early Band-Maid songs were given to the external writers; therefore, they were not ghostwriters.👻😏

    Not sure if it is a rap. Saiki's superpower is being to sing however fast or slow the song requires . Even if it takes 1000 mile an hour vocals. and she can make huge changes up and down in cadence if the song needs it. She will follow what other players are playing. Drums or lead guitar.

    • @stephenriggs8177
      @stephenriggs8177 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah. If you define rap as a series of sequence of rapid-fire lines with an exaggerated emphasis on rhyme, I don't think that's what this is. The lyrics are dense, so the delivery sounds like rap. Conversely, Saiki has a couple of bars in Influencer that I would call true rap.

    • @kevenbridges9433
      @kevenbridges9433 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea I agree. Those do sound like rap.@@stephenriggs8177

  • @MoonmanRedux
    @MoonmanRedux ปีที่แล้ว

    Refusing to call it rapping may be technically correct but as far as I'm concerned it falls into the "distinction without a difference" territory.
    If any doubt remains about Saiki's ability to rap, the 'rap section' of Influencer should dispel it.
