My GUARDIAN review of ANATOMY OF. FALL: amp.theguardia...
Sandra huller should get an Oscar nomination and perhaps a winner
Thanks for another excellent review. Really enjoyed the film, definitely top 10 from the past year. Similarly appreciated your One Life review. From the posters I thought it was going to be a James Callaghan biopic, but you set me straight and I enjoyed it too.
Excellent performances, and some interesting, atypical choices from Triet. I'm slightly perplexed by the level of praise this is receiving though.
Interesting how expectations play a part in this too...I had expected a cerebral whodunnit but saw a courtroom drama. And yet, earlier this year, I was slightly dreading Saint Omer - thinking it would be an overhyped courtroom drama, only to be blown away by a cerebral whodunnit!
Given Justine Triet is now the most obscure/newcomer Palme d’Or winner in decades. I’m hoping there is far better film distribution of her previous feature and short films in the future as some of her work is only available on iTunes/ Google Play / Prime
I watched it a couple days ago, it's the best modern film I've seen in ages
The trouble is, I don't think this case would ever have gone to court. There needs to be a threshold of evidence and I don't think the prosecution case satisfies this. The verdict is, therefore, entirely predictable.
This movie reminds me also to Michael hanneke
Couldn't agree more. The movie of finding the truth by providing the equivalent virtual images to represent another aspect of the reality already shown.
BTW, Shall I access to your email address?

He slipped on Snoops ball. The end.
I thought she was guilty, some people always get away with it
Features the creepiest kid since Damian in The Omen (complete with red sweater and Anton Chigurgh bowl cut). If that precocious, calculating little shit wasn't involved in something sinister then it was very misleading storytelling.
